April and Keenon's Wedding!!

Here it goes I am gonna start a wedding journal!!

So, the wedding is still so far away but I already have so many ideas. The colors are pink and black. Pink is my favorite color and I thought black would be a good color to go with it.

My budget is as low as I can get it without the wedding looking cheap. We already have the reception site. It is called The Avalon Hall. We live in a small town in New Mexico that borders El Paso TX. I am not sure if anyone has ever been here. Any way we will getting married in El Paso. The hall is beautiful. We are paying 3,000 for it but that includes 3 hrs for the reception and 4 hrs for the dance, drinks, chair covers and table linens, d.j. set up and clean up. It is so pretty and it doesnt even need too many decorations. We have to pay for the catering seperate. It is 6.95 per person for chicken or brisket a few sides and bread. I found a bridal shop last weekend and I am so happy. I will pay 2,000 and that will include my dress, veil, tiara, 40 centerpieces, my boquet, the girls boquets, champagne glasses, guest book, pen, favors and a few more things. The lady makes everything and will design everything with my colors. I am thinking of black with pink dots for the ribbon accents. I am still searching for a bakery. I want one of those cakes that are squares that look like presents stacked.

I'm glad you started a journal April!!! I am from Texas so I know where El Paso is of course! I actually have family in New Mexico around the Clovis area. I just love New Mexico. I love to go to Ski Apache.

Hello. I love El Paso, my sister lived there (ft. bliss actually) for a few years. I spent my Christmas of '95 there. It was just so wierd for me being from NY I usually have cold snowy xmas's. My colors are also pink and black and some white too though. Sounds great so far can't wait to hear more.

Hello everyone!! Well I am so happy today...we put down our deposit on our reception site! I really love the place. It is such a pretty place I really can't wait! I know I have a long way to go still, but I think it is gonna start going fast. We went and looked at rings today. I found the two rings that will go on both sides of the engagement ring, I guess it is a wrap. We also found a few rings for Keenon. I rally am so excited! I am really excited to order my dress. I am trying to get a hold of the lady that I am going through for the dress and I hope to get it ordered soon.

I haven't posted much lately so I will try and post as much as I can so I can update everything. I got my dress and I really love it. It is so different from what I originally wanted but I think that is what makes it so much better.

Things are going pretty well other than the church telling us we couldn't have the wedding there. I think that is why it is so good that we set our date so far ahead, because if this was closer to our wedding day I would be freaking out!!! I am really thinking about just having the ceremony at the reception venue. I talked to the owner and he said that it would be fine. My kids are on spring break so maybe next week I will go talk to the florist and also check out some bakeries in our area. Things are great and I am nearing the one year mark...YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!! It has been so long since I poseted in my journal!! I guess I have some catching up to do. It is kinda cool to go back and see just how much we have done and how far along we have come. I will go through and post pics of everthing so far.
