What do you put on the top of your Christmas Tree?

We are going with the star.
I like the look of a star alot and i feel that it nicely represents the star in the night sky that led everyone to the mainger (sp?)

I have always had a red bow on the top of the tree. This year however we have decided since this is our first year of married life that we will go out and pick out an angel for the topper this year.

We have an angel. Growing up we had a star and an angel and we alternated each year. I just believe the angel is beautiful and to me it represents the Angel of the Lord.

I alternate between a ceramic angel that I painted, and an antique sphere type thing that once used to adorn my grandmother's tree. Looks something like this -

When I was little, we had an OLD tin star that was painted gold with glitter. Mom gave it to me when I was grown. After that we had a light up star, and in 2001 my mom bought an porcelain angel and named her Judy after her sister that had died. I will use the old tin star this year, and then I am going to work on making a Barbie (already have the doll) angel to my liking (I collect Barbies)

OUr first Christmas here we didn't have many ornaments or much money, so I had a little stuffed bear with angel wings and thought that was cute on top of the tree, it has gone up every year since

My mom has an angel, on our 4 ft tree, I don't put anything because I decorate it in a color scheme. It looks nice even with out something on top.

I forgot - I answered "angel", but I set my angel beside the tree now. I have a table top tree with a sphere, kind of what Elizabeth had a picture of. My angel is too huge for my small tree. Once we buy a bigger house, we'll have a bigger tree and the angel will be back home on top of the tree.

Growing up we had the most hideous star! I hated it and always wanted an Angel! (I love and collect angels, you should see my collection!lol) ANywho, when I was about 14 I made mom and dad buy an angel. Now that I have my own tree we have an angel but she's a little top heavy and we have a hard time making her stay! Lol This year Matthew got her to stay up there and he didn't have to tie her to the tree or anything! What a guy!! :D

Yeah,its glued on....that way theres no fights about who gets to put it on the tree every year.

We have a strict Disney Christmas tree. Nothing on that tree or in my house for that matter is anything but Disney. So on top of our tree we have a Mickey who swings around a post. It's really cute. when I was a kid we used to have a Minnie Mouse dressed up like an angel holding a star, and my mom had sparkle ribbon from it going to a tinker bell about a metre away so it looked liek she was lighting the star.

The past couple years I used a star and I have a really old angel that my mom used on our tree growing up. I want a snowman topper to go with our theme but can't seem to find one I like- or one that is cat friendly. We had a snowman angel but it got broken when my trouble maker Ginger got up in the tree.

I voted before I decorated this year and we actually went with a bow. There weren't any stars at the store that I liked and I have never had a bow topper before, but it really looks nice. It even has streamers that cascade down and look so elegant!

As a child we actualy had a baby Jesus on top of our tree. Once I got my own place I asked my Grandmother for oen of her angels that she has made for all her kids. She makes them out of the plastic canvas. I got it as a gift my first year and it has been on my tree every since.

My parents have always put angel on top of the tree that my grandmother gave them right before she passed away. It is the perfect reminder of her. I do not put and angel on top, just because it wouldn't feel right, with all the meaning behind my parents. We have a snowman dressed a a firefighter on top (yes Steve picked it out!)

We use a big bow atop our tree. Like Melissa's, it has long tails on it that stream down the tree. I love it!!!
