Hey girls, may see this in another forum because I want as much feedback as possible. Everyone mostly has heard of ebay, but who on here has delt with ebay specifically for their wedding. I have some questions.

From experience or sourcefull info....
1. What vendors are good and which vendors do I stay away from?
2. What products or services are safe to purchase on Ebay and which should I stay away from.

I did some browsing and I saw wedding gowns for $50.00 USD. I don't understand the type of auction. Has anyone dealt with these types of auctions. $50.00 isn't much of a risk compared to wasting $300 or $400 on ebay for a gown.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I haven't used them for wedding stuff (yet) but I do shop a lot on ebay. Here is my best advice:

Purchase items, not services. No photographers, DJ's, Caterers, etc. Get candles, favors, jewelry, ribbon, beads, etc. I've heard great things about dresses and veils, etc, on ebay, but keep in mind that things don't always look quite the same. The picture might look so-so, but the dress might be stunning. Or vice versa. Colors, details, etc, can all be lost in pictures.

Check the user ratings, and contact some of the people who have left ratings on their account. Go for someone with 99% and above.

Get insurancs on things that you really care about.

Best of luck!

I agree with Carlo's Honey. I go shopping on ebay like crazy! What I suggest for a gown is go shopping and find exactly what you want, size style, color, everything. And then search for it on ebay. Price doesn't really matter, high, low, med, it's all really the same as far as service and item. If they have a pic and a description, you should be ok.
And don't be afraid to ask the seller questions, you would do it in a store right?

Always ask questions! I agree with the other posters in that as long as you check feedback and ask whatever questions you have, you will be okay. Don't shop for services, like CarlosHoney said.. shop more for the candles, favors, etc. eBay is legit and if for some unfortunate reason, the transaction didn't work, they are always there to make it right. I personally have purchased candles, bubbles, napkins, rose petals, guestbook and pen, and garters. Saved a lot of money this way!

There are quite a few nice wedding gowns on the Overstock.com Auction. Here's the link:
