For a few months now I've been trying to stick to a diet and exercise plan. I've done very well during the week and really bad on the weekends. During the week I have been exercising at least 4 nights a week for 1/2 an hour each time. I take fruit and yogurt for breakfast, lean cuisine meals for lunch, and dinner I try my best to make something healthy. It's hard because FH doesn't care if he loses weight so he still eats the fatty stuff. Weekends it seems like my diet is shot. Especially with all the football parties, and holiday parties that are already starting. I eat horrible all weekend and sometimes will exercise, but not always. I need to somehow get control of my weekends! I know I can lose the weight if I do!

It isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world to take a day off from the diet regimen. In fact it might help to take a day off once per week, so maybe just try to stick with the plan for one more day per week. When you have that day off, first you can satisfy any cravings you may have, you are also telling your body that it isn't starving and when you resume the more strict diet plan you will be more eager to get back on it. And a little bit of guilt will keep you motivated and on track.
Portion control is also the biggest key. For the most part you can eat the stuff you like (along with healthy things), but do so in moderation. Having one or two slices of pizza is not nearly as bad as the whole pizza, so when you are at the parties, take very small portions. If you are still hungry in a half hour to an hour, go back for another small portion. It takes about a half hour for your brain to get the message from your stomach that you are full.
Dieting can be like anything else in life; what if you never, ever had a day off from work. You would probably burn out rather quickly, diets are the same way a day off will refresh you and motivate you to work even harder the other 6 days of the week.
I would strive to stick with your plan for 6 days and even on Sat. or Sun. try to get some physical activity. Maybe go dancing together with FH, wash the cars or take a hike or bike ride. Fitness can be fun as well!
Also examine your weekly routine to make sure you are getting everything your body needs everyday, but in healthy choices. You do need fats, carbs and protein all week long. You may totally pig out on weekends b/c you are suffering a shortage all week of healthy fats and your body thinks it might be starving. Work some nuts, sunflower seeds, flaxseed and/or olive oil into your weekly routine.
