No, I haven't gotten one in about 4 years only b/c I don't work with the public anymore or the elderly so I don't seem to get as sick anymore. So I figure I will leave the shot to people who need it more than me.

No, never.
I was told that I should since I worked with the public but never did. My mom had a client that had a flu shot and had a severe reaction to it. This person ended up paralyzed because of it. That turned me off for good!
I can deal with the flu, I don't want to be paralyzed. I know there is a small risk but still!

I have only had one since quitting working in the health care field. But now that I have young children at home (who bring everything home to me and share) I will have one this year. I had one last year because the boss I worked for at the time made me do so to keep my job.

I don't get them. Some people thing I am crazy for getting them. I never have had one and I never will. The way I look at it is we all get sick about once a year any way. My imune system is so strong that I dont worry about it.

Sometimes I do, though I should get them every single year, given that I work with kids who bring in all kinds of bugs every day! lol. Truly, though, it's once every 3 years or so. When I think about it!

No, I don't. I had one once when I was like 12, my mom insisted.

Nope i have not. My mom has been on my case for the last 2 years to get it because i did get the flu 2 years ago now where i was hospitalized for de-hysration. But i've never had a bug that bad before and doubt i will for a while. It might sound silly. But i just am not worried alot about it.

I tihnk I've only gotten the flu once in my life...and I'v enever gotten the shot for it. They offered it at my work, but I didn't get one and this one girl was SO surprised! She was freaking out "Well after you get the flu once you will always get the shot." So watch me get the flu this year.

I have gotten it a few times. Because of my asthma, my doc use to suggest that I get it. Of course, I always still ended up with the flu. I haven't had the shot in about 4 years and have only had the flu once.

I very rarely get sick, so I never get the shots.

I have never gotten a flu shot and probably never will. I have only gotten the flu once and that was last year. It was horrible, but I still am not going to get a flu shot.

I have in the past because they were free and fairly easy to get in Ontario.

In Quebec, you have to pay for them and make an appt. so I haven't yet. My doctor suggested it simply because if you do get sick & you have had the shot, health workers are less likely to send you home (believing it to be just a cold). It's her theory that they will look for other causes because the shot rules out the major flu's that are going around.

I haven't and I don't think I will ... there are many strains of the flu and the shot will not protect you from all of them. I prefer to try to strengthen my immune system the natural way. I still get sick, but I deal.

It is recommended for young children, elderly or people with compromised immune systems. That and those working in the medical industry.

Nope, I don't get flu shots. I very rarely get sick and I would just assume save the shots for the elderly and young who would need it more then me.

I'm a healthcare provider and in addition (which makes it even more important to get), I work with children who have cancer (so their immune systems are severely compromised)...soooo I am required!
