I have to bring snowman to the vet today at 12:00, he has had a cold all week, and I called last week to tell the vet about it because he has asthma, they said it was no big deal just keep an eye on him. Well this morning I woke up and found him in a ball scrunched up near the oven, his eye is leaking mucus and he cant stop sneezing and coughing, so I called and the lady that answered was so rude she was like you really should of not let it go this long, I told her I called last week and the receptionist said he was fine, that it is just a common cat cold. I feel like such a bad mom, poor snowman. Wish us luck please!!!

Just got back from the Vet, they gave me an asthma inhaler for snowball with some antibiotics for his cough and mucus eyes, he willl be ok as long as the asthma is kept under control, thank you for your kind thoughts.

How do you do a asthma inhaler on a cat?

I'm glad to hear everything went well at the vet. A few weeks ago I had to bring my dog to the vet because she had bad allergies. She had to get a cortizon shot and she also has eye drops that she gets twice a day.

Awwww, poor Snowball, I hope he feels better soon. I would definitely complain about the woman who made that comment about waiting this long without even realizing you had called earlier. Or complain about the receptionist who is most likely only qualified to answer the phone and make appointments and she chose to make a recommendation regarding your pet's health. That sounds so wrong!

I thought you said you worked in a dentist's office, what would happen if a patient called with a toothache and you told her to just wait it out?

So glad snowball is on the road to recovery. When you call the vet's you can always ask to talk to the vets assistant usually they are not as busy as the vet. I find that they usually have alot more info for you than the vet does.

they give you this plastic baby bottle looking thing and the inhaler goes into the bottom of it and there is a mask at the top that somehow I have to talk snowball into let me put on his face for 10 seconds everytime he has an attack. He just took his antibiotic medicine that was actualy pretty funny to watch, he kept sticking out his tongue and shaking his head lol, poor little guy. You know its quite amazing how sometimes we are treated by receptionist, if I ever talked to someone like that I would be fired, I felt so bad whn the Vet listened to his chest she could hear him wheezing really bad, I am glad I decided to call a second time, and the receptionist I found out is new and pretty rude in person too. Sorry I missed this before, but glad to hear your furbaby is ok! I know how it feels when they are sick :)

There is one particular resceptionist/tech at our vet that always has something rude or insensitive to say :snide:

well, I'm glad Snowball is okay now.
If I had talked to that nasty woman, I guarantee you I would have said something! I am very out spoken, and I personally do not think it was her place. I hate rude people. The make no sense.
