The wedding is set for April 28th.
Could someone please tell me what is expected of the Groom's parents.
We have been told about a Rehersal Dinner, is this formal or casual?
Who attends? If people have to be invited, who does the invitations?
Any help for this poor Aussie Mum who is currently stressing to the max. would be appreciated.
Is it a custom in America to have a 'recovery' brunch the day after the wedding (it is in Oz)?
By the way I am not the Mum, just her good friend trying to help out.
My husband and I will be flying to America to attend the wedding and are very excited. The wedding is in a town called Easton, Maryland.
Is this a nice area to spend a few days after the wedding?

The rehersal dinner is pretty much anyway that the bride and groom and the parents choose it to be. Either would be fine.
Usually the ones that attend is both sides of parents and the Bridal Pary and sometimes the Bridal Parties partners. I have heard though that some people will include the out of town guest and etc. But mainly its just the BP and the Parents of the bride and groom. The parents of the groom usually do the invitiaions for the rehersal dinner.
Yes you can have a recovery brunch the day after. Not really sure who attends that as im not having one.
Welcome to onewed there is tons of info on here and lots of support and advice. Your stress will hopefully be relieved a little with talks with the other gals.

1. What is expected of the groom's parents.
Traditionally the groom's parents pay for the rehearsal dinner. However it is not uncommon today for the couple to pay or for everyone to split it. It all just depends on the situation.
2. Is the rehearsal dinner formal or casual? Who is invited? Who does invitations?
That is totally up to you guys. Some are formal. Some are casual. Usually if the wedding is formal the rehearsal dinner will be formal and vice versa.
Usually the wedding party, officiant, and parents are invited to the rehearsal dinner. Some couples invite grandparents etc. or out of town guests. Invitations to the rehearsal dinner are not mandatory. I am doing them, but they are very informal and I'm sending them out myself.
Good luck!

Usually a breakfeast the day after the wedding and who you invite is usually the parents of the bride and the groom and the bridal party. But it is again totally up to the couple.
