I voted on Sunday. I usually prefer to early vote. I have early voted the last 3 elections I have voted in.

Ok, I wasn't really aware that there was an election in the states happening. But here in Ontario there is an election going on for mayors, ward councillers, school trustees etc.
So yes i will be voting in the election. It's on November 13th.

I guess I will be unable to vote. I applied for a new voter registration card and haven't received it yet. I don't know what the hold up is as I done this over a month ago or longer.

If I didn't change my name, that means I cannot vote?

If I cannot vote I am going to be.. upset to say the least..

Yep, I'll be voting for sure...because there is 1 person from Iowa I definitely don't want to win! LOL!

I went and changed my name on my drivers license like 2 weeks ago, and they updated my voter registration stuff there...and I've already received my new voters card with my new name on it.

All I ever have to show is my driver's license.

If you applied before the deadline, they should have your name on the list. At least that was how it was done here.

Of course I will vote!

I don't know how it is other places, but this morning I contacted the Board of Elections and asked them how I would go about voting because I haven't updated my name with them.

She told me I can still vote, I can change it while I am there and do a provisional ballot or just not tell them that I changed my name and then change it after.

I would contact your county's board of elections and explain your situation and ask them what you can do.

They won't deny you to vote, especially since this election is very important.

I was just told I'd have to have ID for both the old and new name and I don't have anything with the old name on it anymore.

What about your birth certificate or old post marked mail, old bills ect? Old tax documents? Maybe an old gym card?

Yeah, I think I might have my birth certificate somewhere ... but that has my maiden name on it. My voter card has my ex husbands name on it ... LOL, I guess I have gone by a few too many names ;)

I'm sure I could get it worked out if I tried hard enough but it isn't worth it to me I guess. But I will get it taken care of before the next major election.

I dont think I'm going to vote in this election. I havent really researched the issues and I want to make sure when I vote, I'm voting for the right person. I'll vote in the next presidential election though.

I probably won't vote in the local elections this year...I don't know the candidates (I've only lived here for a little over a year)...maybe next year.

Absolutely. Everyone should get out and vote. It's an important part of being an American citizen.
