Ok, so I need help again ladies. I have the glass fishbowls that are scalloped at the top for the guest tables. I had planned on putting candles in them, and scattering rose petals that match the bouquets on the tables around them. But I don't like the idea, since it seems to be so used now. And I want something simple, and maybe a bit western. I need fresh ideas, that won't cost me a bundle. Any one have any suggestions?

Here's a list of ideas....some may work others may not, you'll have to mix and match.

Mason Jars (Wal-Mart)
Miniature Felt cowboy hats (Craft store)
Cowboy hat or boot confetti (Renton Western Wear/online)
Lanterns (coal oil type from Wal-Mart)
Mini Hay bales (Wal-Mart)
Hurricane Lamps over pillar candles circled with rope (Tractor Supply)
Mirror mats and candles

I wonder if the dollar store will have any hurricane stile holders, or something I can use like that. I bought the fishbowls there, but I don't think they will let me return them. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........................

Are you sure you aren't just second guessing yourself? If you already have the fishbowls, why not just keep them (unless you really, really hate the idea). I think they sound beautiful and very elegant, you could put them on a mirror base. The mirrors really make the candles stand out and reflect even more light.

To be honest, I have not liked the idea since about a month after I bought them, but I don't think I can return them, so I have been trying to find something else. I love the idea of a larger candle/holder and rope. The recept is a bit (sublte) western and the location is wood framed, so I want to find something that will go along w that.

You might try finding some used cowboy boots at yard sales or somewhere and fill them with flowers for table centerpieces. or the splatter coffee pots for this as well. each table could be done differently as well. use cowboy hat turned upside down filled with flowers on one table, potted cactus on another, coffee pot filled with flowers, horseshoes with candles in center, just some thoughts.

I know that where I live we are not allowed to make any returns to the dollar store. maybe you could use them for something else. Like a extra favor for some of your guests? Good luck on finding a new centerpiece. I really like both ideas .

I don't want to use the boot thing, LOVE IT, but my BM is doing that for her wedding two wks later, and I don't want to steel that one, but I do like the coffee pot thing too. This could get fun!! And maybe relieve some stress!!!!!

You know, maybe I will just use the bowls that I have, and find some rope to tie around the tpo, rather than using ribbon. That may work too!!

And I need opinions on the programs too. I am using this as the backround on the cover of my program (also used it for the invites).

I was thinking of finding some thin twine to tie the programs together instead of ribbon which I have seen done before. How would that look?

Oh, I adore that graphic! I think the twine would be fine, esp. since you are having a western theme.

Thanks Melissa. I was also thinking..............I am usuing the BM bouquets as decor on the bridal table once we all show up. I was thinking of draping tulle and having the bouq. sit where the tulle comes up, and then hanging a loop or two of rope down from that point too. Does that make sense????

that sounds nice!!! --Bouquets with tulle and rope idea

What about still using the Fish bowl idea with the candle in it, but having it rest on top of a horseshoe. (Looks better in my head I promise)

Do you have a GoodWill or something by you??
They have cheap stuff like that, and you could always polish them if they are a little dull!:icon_barbar:
