I hear ya sweety I'm in the same boat!!!!
What type of theme is it? I know you said beach but are you looking for a classy beach theme or a fun one?
I have seem some wonderful centre pieces that are vases filled with warm coloured sand and on the inside of the glass peaking out are shells. Stick in some very light coloured flowers maybe with the stems in the water canasters that slip over the ends and va va va voom!
I have seen them, but I don't have a pic. They are very easy to do and they looked stunning!!!

I myself am doing a beach theme! If you check out my journal I have some of my ideas on there

I think for my centerpiece I am going to have large open vases with sand and shells in them, possibly with a candle in the middle

Looks like I am a little late here with the responses but who knows-might help.

This is a FANTASTIC web link that gives you a ton of ideas for beach themed centerpieces. We were originally going to be married on the beach but thansk to family complaints, the idea fell through-cest la'vie.

Anyway, hope this helps you or anyone else who is going beach themed.

Take care.

If you are on a strick budget then I would look into the dollar stores and go DIY with your centerpieces. You can always pick up little vases or bowls along with the shells, ribbon and sand all for $1 that way your not breaking the bank best of luck to you.

Centerpieces

Crystal or glass bowls filled can be filled with any number of the following:

Sand
Glass marbles
Pearls
Small sea shells
Small star fishA glass or crystal votive can be placed in the middle of the centerpiece with a candle inside. The lit candle will reflect off the shells and the marbles causing a nice effect.
Tropical flowers also make wonderful centerpieces. Your florist is sure to have many suggestions. Let him know of the theme and ask to see pictures of other such centerpieces. His sample book will give you many ideas.
