Hello, i'm new to this chat forum. I just got engaged to my boyfriend of five and a half years this july. Every year for the past 11 years i've gone on vacation with my family, aunts, uncles and cousins. Its always my favorite time of year and the past few years, my boyfriend has been able to come with us. That beach is definitely my favorite place. So this year, it was my birthday right before we left and he got me an ipod so i wasnt expecting a ring anytime soon since that was a big gift. But about four days into our trip, we had just finished dinner at the house and my boyfriend disappeared, i was looking for him all over the house. Then my cousin (and my best friend) said, lets go to the beach to hang out. So i said ok. My boyfriend came back at that time and we started walking out to the beach. But my cousin wasnt with us. My b.f. said that she got a phone call and would catch up with us. We got down to the beach and it was beautiful. The sun was setting and the sky was all pink. It was empty on the beach too. I saw a sea shell on the ground and bent down to pick it up. When i stood up, my b.f. was pointing to the ground next to us in which he wrote in the sand, "Marry me?" I looked back at him and he was on one knee with the ring and asked me outloud. I said yes of course and then my whole family came down to the beach cheering and holding sparklers and champagne. It was shocking, unexpected and SOOOOOO romantic. i'll never forget it.
