Yes, I believe they should be allowed in the military just like anyone else. There should be no distinction. I think it's stupid to exclude them just because they're gay. :bbconfused:

I voted yes on this one. I never really thought about it. But what difference does it make who joins. they are all there for the same reason.

Yes, they should be treated like all other soldiers. It shouldn't matter if you are gay or not :whyme: Just like the women on the battle front thing, if a person wants to do it then they are probably of the mindset to, so they shouldn't be restricted just because of their sexual preference or gender or whatever
What I think alot of 'homophobes' think is that gay men will hit on them or will not be as 'manly' in the face of danger. Well most gay men can spot a straight man a mile away and will not bother him, and again, if they have chosen to be a part of the military then I'm sure they can handle it just as much as the next guy.
I don't think anyone should be judged or stopped from doing anything because of what they do in their personal life (aside from maybe something illegal) :snide:

Yes, they are no different than anyone else. They are just regular Americans that want to fight for our country...why deny them of that?

Absolutely!
Sexual orientation does not change a persons ability to do their job.

I think they should be treated like any other soldier. I really don't understand what the big deal was about anyway.

I put dont ask dont tell. In my opinion it is no one's business either way. If someone wants to help in defending our country why should it matter what their orientation is? I think there are some things that are personal, and this is one of them.
It isnt legal for a company to not hire/fire a person because of their sexual orientation, what makes the military any different?

I put don't ask, don't tell. I just said this because it's nobody's business at that job or any job if you are gay or straight. It shouldn't even come up. If they find out someone is gay then of course they should be able to stay. Anybody who wants to and can pass all equal physical requirements should be able to defend our country.

I voted Yes. I really never understood this rule anyway. Its not like they have a disablilty that is not allowing them to perform as well as the next man or woman.

During my time in the military there were several gay women in my flight at basic training, they were rather obvious about their sexual orientation and it was a very uncomfortable situation to have to shower and bunk with them due to their unwanted comments/advances behavior. With that said I'm sure if they had kept their sexuality to themselves there wouldn't have been an issue but I and several of my flight were VERY uncomfortable around them and during training when we had to be physically close it became a problem. At one point I felt like I was in prison... they would actually pick on the straight women and taunt them...several of my bunk mates (girls in nearby bunks) and I would make a point of showering together so that no one was in there alone at any time. I kept my distance, but there were other girls who weren't as lucky.
I think gay or straight if you can do the job then do it. Discrimination like that is obserd. But if you harass someone and put yourself into a position where your sexual orientation (gay or straight) is part of the problem you should be prevented from continuing.
...they ended up not graduation with us...for what reason we never knew...they just were gone and to me it was for the best, legally it was no different than being sexually harrassed by men, personally it was disgusting.

The military got rid of them, if they hadn't acted like that I would have stood proudly beside them during graduation but they way they acted was HORRIBLE. I personally was glad to see them gone.

Don't ask, don't tell. It's none of anyone's business what your orientation is.
