That's something how they take a very pretty girl and then tweak her with a computer to make her into something that she isn't no wonder young girls and woman are walking around with low self esteems and eating disorders. Thanks for sharing. I have heard of this before by watching the TYRA show.

I just watched this one on TV while in the doctors office yesterday. It is no wonder we have such self image problems these days..

I'm with Karen...what was wrong with her beforehand? Dear lawd I'd hate to see what they'd do to me with no makeup on! EEK!

Most of us look like death warmed over without make up but I didn't see anything wrong with her. I was impressed (artistically speaking) with how the makeup and hair changed her look but I don't think it made her any more beautiful. The photo retouching was definately not needed.

I would really like to see one done on me. Just see how much better I might look or worse. I have always been curious as to how it would turn out. I remember once when I first got married to the kids dad that one morning I got up early and only made up one side of my face and hair. Should have seen the look on his face. He had been telling me I didn't have to put makeup on I was beautiful without it. Changed his tune then. haha

This is somewhat interesting as they show us what they can do to a picture, but I have to wonder if this is done all or even most of the time. There really are people who look similar to the after pic with just makeup.

I had heard about this commercial at work as well. Someone I was talking to had said that they knew an actual model and the model had had her picture actually changed similarly to be put into a magazine. It happens more often than not, to some extent. Why do you think celebrities always look so wonderful? It's sad really, though, because that does become the standard. And I also agree with all of you that she was beautiful before they did everything that they did! It is just a sad state of affairs that that's what we show our children and how they perceive the world as well! No wonder so many girls are bulemic, anorexic, and have so many other body image problems too!! Dove is doing a good thing by showing these commercials in their "campaign for Natural Beauty"

It's a good thing I've never really cared a lot about my looks.
FH doesn't even care if I wear makeup or not -- sometimes he doesn't even notice when I'm not. :D
