I love the holidays and we are hosting Thanksgiving this year. I have my menu pretty much planned, but I think it's a little too early to start buying all the food, especially the fresh food.
I also love Christmas, but our shopping isn't done, I haven't even made my Christmas lists for people!
We are also looking for a tree as this will be the first year we will have a full size tree. I am still trying to decide on a color scheme for it. I like the holidays, but the journey up until the days is just as exciting as the days themselves.

Nope, not at all. I hate to be rushed into the holidays. I am seeing Christmas decorations already. It drives me nuts!

I am so ready! Thanksgiving will be a blast...we go to several different households and then for Christmas
This will be the first Christmas as Mr & Mrs....we are already planning to go get a nice BIG tree and some cowboy/western/lodge ornaments and decor to decorate with!
Hopefully if Saturday goes in our favor (farm auction day) we will be working on or moved to the farm!

Now that the wedding is out of the way, I can start thinking about the holidays...lol. I'm no where near ready yet, but guess they will come whether I'm ready or not, right??

I'm ready mentally for them. I am really looking forward to everything. Decorating and buying gifts and everything. But i am not ready in the sence of having things organized etc. We have to buy so much this year because it will be the first year we have a house and a tree. We have lots of ornaments and a tree. But that's about it.

Ditto! I don't want to see decorations in the stores until mid November and I absolutely can't stand to see lights up before December 1.
Since DH's parents couldn't make it to the wedding, they have proposed that we get together for Christmas in Montreal. We are looking for a chalet that is large enough to house everyone - DH & I, his brother, wife and child, my kids, his kids, my mother and his parents.
LOL If we pull this one off, it will be quite a feat!

I am not ready at all. Money is so tight around here right now that this christmas will be very light. Normally I am excited about it and looking forward to it with much anticipation by now.

I love Christmas, I even have the singing stockings for the cats, last year I was so excited I went in the basement all by myself and dragged everything including the tree up 3 flights of stairs and had it decorated before Andy even woke up

I'm almost ready... we have about half of our christmas shopping done. So I think in the next 2 months we'll get everything done.
I love thanksgiving and christmas... I am a huge family person and that's about the only time of the year when I see all my family at once.

I am looking forward to it, but I have alot to do yet to prepare.
Thanksgiving all I really need to do is get an ornament for my mom's tree (sort of a tradition) and make food. Oh and I am in charge of the drawing for Christmas gifts, this is the first year we are doing this.
I need to get my list and my budget together for Christmas. I like decorating and gift giving, but I don't really like shopping because of the crowds. I do already have the gift for my niece that I ordered online. I am sort of tempted to just give it to her and buy something else for Christmas ;)

I'm so not ready. But that's not really because of Christmas itself. I can't wait to decorate and have that holiday feeling. But the gift giving season for us starts in Oct, so it gets a bit much. First, we have Diwali (10/21), then my neice's bday (10/31), then my elder BiL's bday (11/10), then my nephew's bday(11/13), then my younger BiL(11/15), Then, a college friends' (11/27), then my SiL's bday (11/30), and my in-laws anniversary (12/1) and my MiL's bday (12/2). After that is Christmas. Then, three days later, my Mother's bday(12/28), and a week and after that, the bday of a friend(1/2) and then my sister's bday (1/6). A few weeks later, we have another friend's bday(1/19), and a few weeks after that, his wife's bday(2/9). That takes us from mid-October, through beginning of Feb. It's an INSANE gift giving season and just drives us nuts every single year!!! lol
