I wouldn't be caught dead doing the dollar dance. I think that the gifts and cards with money should be enough for me.

I'm not a dancer, though, so I know how it is, not wanting to dance. It's the opposite with my guy, though, he asked what our first dance would be, and I was shocked that he even wanted dancing at the wedding. I was planning for a non-dancing affair.

Emily Post doesn't say a thing about it, so I can't give a "documented" answer, however I'd advise against it. It's more of a both or neither sort of thing.

Some men just don't dance. I've been married for 17 years and can count on one hand the times my husband and I have danced together, and still have fingers left over.

Talk to your FH. He may change his mind. However, if he's really a serious non-dancer don't push it. There's nothing worse than a groom who is uncomfortable on his wedding day.

My FH is VERY shy too. We are going to do the first dance and maybe the parents dance but not the dollar dance. I am with the Carlo'sHoney on that one I personally think it is tacky to ask for a dollar when everyone just brought you beautiful gifts. But thats just me.
