I'm really bad about not doing this every year, especially considering my age. But I have so many other health issues that I just don't want to deal with that too. Which is stupid because I at least want to have a fighting chance at detecting it early, but I still can't talk myself into going in.

I used to not go every year...but now I do. The first time I went back after I hadn't gone for a few years, I had an abnormal pap, and so now I'm super concerned about it...so now I go every year faithfully.

I've been going every year. It's crazy what can spring up on you in a year or less. The cysts weren't there the last time i went and within a year one got very large. I definatly won't be skipping out on it even though i absolutely hate them!

I don't really mind them. Not that it's my favorite thing.. I guess it has alot to do with having babies.. Just got used to the idea..

I have not had one since I had my last child 5 yrs ago. I know I need to go. It is jsut a matter of setting the appointment. I know I should concindering my age and all. And that I am trying to get pregnant but I just keep putting it off. I know I am horrible with this. You can slap me now.

I don't go as often as I should. I HATE going. I went off of bcps last month so I don't know if I'll go back with my year is up in the spring. I will see when the time comes.

I don't mean to sound thick but i'm guessing, is paps a screening for abnormal cervical cells? (thats called a smeer test here) Here we get sent an appointment every 3 years! Also, what is bcps? (sorry!)

I go every year or thereabouts. I don't take BCP any longer and it takes about 6 months to get an appt. with my doctor so I have to remember to book.
Hmmmm ... I am not sure if I booked this year or not. Thanks for the reminder - I will need to check my calendar!

Like Holly, I go every year just to get my BCP prescription filled. Actually, my appt this year is on my last day of work. Yeah, I think.

I have alot of internal issues, when I get my pap it hurts horribly, I usually cry and my doctor knows that it is painful and does the best he can to make it not such a traumatic issue. I have two cervix, so the second one is very hard to find and there is alot of moving and pushing stuff around in there to find it. I also had a vaginal septum that was only just removed last year which made things just alot more fun when the speculum was inserted. My doctor says alot of it is mental for me and that I tighten up to much becasue I am scared, sometimes I have to take a valium just to go to the GYN.:(

I go every year for my regular pap and pelvic exam. And every 6 months for mammograms. Years ago my pap smears started coming back bad. I have had to have numerous "freeze" surgeries because of this. And after having a partial hysterectomy because of fybroid cysts I dont' like not going. I also have fybroid cystic breast disease and have had to have them drained. also breast cancer runs in my family.
