To me, this implies doubt rather than commitment. I would rather not have one than to rent one. JMO

HUH?????? How is it supposed to work? Would someone rent them for the day or lease a ring until they wanted to upgrade to a larger one?

Ok, very trailer park to me. JMO. If they couldn't buy the real thing then I feel as if they only expect the marriage to last a very, very short time.

How do you rent wedding rings?!?! When would you give them back? Wouldn't they have much less meaning?!?!? I'm confused. I've never heard of this before.

That's what I was thinking. The only reason I would go for this, would be if your wedding rings weren't ready on time. Karen do you have a link we could read up on this trend?

I don't get it, if you can't afford a ring then just don't have one. But the rings are not that important to me anyway. DH and I don't wear them and didn't do that part of the ceremony.

I wear my grandmother's wedding band now, since I found it when my grandfather died recently, but I just wear it because I like it and it was hers.

I was browsing on the internet, and I read that you can rent wedding rings at rental places, in particular a place called Rentway. I thought that was a horrible idea, and I wanted to see what you ladies thought about it.

Isn't Rentway like a "rent to own" type place, like Rent-a-Center. You can eventually pay the item off and own it outright, but you end up paying double b/c of interest.

I guess if it was a 'rent to own' type thing and that was the only way you could afford to do it then that might be ok (not that I would go that route) But I don't see the point in renting them just for the day or something like that :notsure:

Usually when people use rent to own places, they do not keep the items until they own them. They usually rent them a certain period of time and then give them back. That's been the case with everyone I have ever known who has used them. I still think it's weird. :notsure:

I agree that renting a ring shows doubt in the marraige. Why wouldnt you just not have a ring?

IMO going to Wal-Mart and buying those rings they have for like $10 is a better idea.

I agree if you can't afford them then don't rent them go to walmart or just go without until you can afford them.

Yeah, or you can even get one a little better than that with a semi-precious stone or something.

No way. How would it be possible? It is suppose to use the ring for the rest of our lives. If we rent it, how would we do it, hã?
