http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/11/11_9_12.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm824YYUS) People supposedly don't know their neighbors as well as they used to. What about you? Assuming you live in a town or city, you probably have several close neighbors. How many do you know by first name? How many know you that way?

I don't think they want to know me any more than I want to know them. If I am on the sidewalk with them at the same time, I will say hello. That's it though.

We are friends w some of our neighbors, know others in passing, some by faces, some are hermits, and I think some are vampires. They only come out at night.
One lady down the street wants to know Josh more than she does. She drives down and waves at Josh everyday!!!!!! Our other neighbors and I call her his 'girlfriend'.

My neighbors directly to my left are freqent invites to my house, and vice cersa. The neighbors next to them, I also know and freqently stop to chat when they're outside. The neighbors to the right, I don't want to know their names as they are extremely rude people. The rest of the block, well, I basically know them by face well enough to smile and wave.

The only ones I know by name are the ones right next door to us. that is only because they are my DH's ex in laws. And the lady down the street that babysits for DH's children. Other than this I have no idea who they are. DH knows everyone here since he has lived here all his life.

Well Joanne lives across the hall. The landlord's daughter lives above us. His other daughter lives above her and most of the other's I know by face but I don't know their names.
It's just common for apartment living I guess.

I know faces and some names. I wave or say hi sometimes and they do the same. But I am not friends with any of my neighbors. I do talk to the older lady down the street sometimes, we've had lunch together a couple of times too.

I have only lived in this apartmetn for about 5 months or so. I know the girl who lives below, we talk when we see each other and I know her name but then again it is on her mail box lol.
As for the others I dont know them and we rarely see any one. We see them drive by but ig I see any oen one I always say hi. The ones tha tlive in the house on the exit of our one way road I have spoken too a couple of times in passing. The people hwo live int he hosue in front of us jsut moved in. The dad and I have introduced ourselves but I have not met his wife yet. His little girl was in my daughters first grade class last year and they cant wait to play together each day. So I am sure I will be meeting both of them as the girls have already talked about stayign the night with each other.

I know some of our neighbors by face and name, but others I don't. I would rather keep it that way too.

I live in a small town and from my house you cannot actually see another house. The road that Clayton lives on has 2 about to be 3 family's not including himself. The one soon to be is his parents, the other is the person we are buying the ground from, and the third is a old bachelor who is just a little weird LOL. We know them all pretty well. Especially his parents LOL.

I am really really really shy, so I don't really get around to talking to the neighbors much. Most I will smile and wave at. Our next door neighbors I talk to once in a while and exchange xmas cards. My FH knows pretty much the whole neighborhood by name. I'm sure they think I'm stuck up or something. I'm just not good with people.

I know two of our neighbhors by name, the ones next door I met yestarday because I locked myself out of our house and I had to borrow a ladder.
But we JUSt moved in like two weeeks ago and we only know the ones who came and introduced themselves while we moved it. Richard, a guy down the road gave us homemade donuts when we moved in so we know him really well. We live on a road where there is one way in and one way out so we know our neighbhors cars really well. WE have station wagon guy, truck guy, porche women.. Works well for us. haha

In previous apartment complexes (especially our one in Waterloo) we knew people by their first name...and it was generally the people who lived in our aparment building. But in Waterloo, our building was really close-knit and we hung out all the time, plus we probably knew another half of the complex. In our new complex that we live in now...we don't know anyone....and we really don't want to know them! LOL!

I know the names of all our neighbores in the house here. I don't know the people who live in the houses arround us at all.
Where we are moving i know the people who will be living on either side of us and a number of the people on the street. I mostly know their names and faces. The family in #12 are friends of ours. I only know everyone as well as i do because my SiL lives on that street.

I actually know all of my neighbors because I live with my grandmother and she's lived in that house for almost 30 years (so since before I was born). There are only 2-3 newer people in the neighborhood but for the most part it's all the older people that were there when I was growing up.
