I need some serious help. See I love sunflowers and I am pretty much stuck on the idea of having a sunflower wedding...k so my problem is I have no idea what colors or coordinating flowers would look good. I've planned many wedding before but I never knew mine would be so difficult! Any suggestions?

What time of year is the wedding? You could use yellow or gold satin or silk ribbons with splashes of green. Go with the sunflower field look. Green table cloths with yallow plates of napkins. If you are using china, try some cream with flower edges. There are a whole range of shades from yellow to that golden rich of sunflowers as well as the green. You could play with that depending on the time of year. I don't know much about flowers though.

Just wondering what you decided. Oh for table centerpieces you could have 1 or 2 Sunflowers in a vase. decorated with green ribbon

Hi,
I had a customer I worked with awhile back who had a sunflower theme, and we did sunflower ink pens "planted" in a pot as a centerpiece, so when it was over, the pens doubled as favors!
Thanks,

Hey that pen idea totaly cute I was going to hand out personalized seed packets but I think that I prefer that far more. To updat you all I have decided my colors. :) I Choose yellow of course followed by splashes of magenta and a navy blue. I know it sounds bright but together the colors look incredicle and I want to keep it as festive as possible. Keep posting your notes everyone they have helped us a lot in our planning.

What color are the bridesmaid dresses? If they are yellow, have the flowers the magenta with blue ribbon or vice versa. As to what kind? you will have to ask a florist about what kinds are in season for that time of year. If you are using silk flowers, I don't think it will matter. Still ask a florist and look around and see what goes together.

What area are you in? I have a wonderful florist who I've seen use vibrant colors and the flowers were absolutely beautiful. If you are in the New England area let me know and I'll give you her name.
The colors you decided on are beautiful! I recently was at a wedding where golden yellow sunflowers were the central flower in all the bouquets. The bouquets also had ivory roses and red roses, as well as gray-green sprigs of sage (maybe? not sure). The bridesmaids wore rich red dresses. All that magnificent red made those sunflowers the stars of the show! Very pretty. Sunflowers are bold flowers, and yellow is a strong sunny color, so you need to pair them with other flowers and colors of equal -- yet complimentary -- hues. Magenta and blue sound perfect!

Did we miss the wedding? How did you make out with your final decisions on the centerpieces and the flowers?

It's great to see that other people used sunflowers as well...they are my favorite flower!
I'm using sunflowers with dark mochas and baby blues as my primary colors. Bridesmaid dresses are going to be a dark mocha and sunflower bouquets and centerpieces with be accented with baby blues to enhance the spring theme to it all. :) Please, if anyone else has more about their past or coming up weddings let me know! :)

I don't think I see any spam, but someone dug up a thread that was started over 2 years ago. Many of the members that have previously posted in this thread are no longer active.
