Kevin and I are trying to get an idea of a honeymoon loacation. I know we have a LONG time, but we want to really look into stuff and look and prices and stuff.
We are going CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like we want to go somewhere via plane, but we want none of the honeymoon offers and specials cause realistically we can't afford it.
We do want all inclusive (including air fare).
Do any of you fine ladies know of anywhere that often has deals or what not?
We don't want anything over $1000! When we get htere we'll start the "oh it's our honeymoon" and stuff but we don't want to go to a honeymoon suite or anything.
It will be in September, hurricane season too!!!

That's going to be very difficult for that price, Lindsey. When we were researching a honeymoon spot for Amber, we would have loved to get anything in that price range. But there just wasn't anything that we could find that required a flight and an all-inclusive. Even Mexico was just as expensive as Jamaica for us, and we are right next door to Mexico. So, of course, Amber & Jason chose Jamaica. But I wish you all the luck in the world in finding something. I'm sure the other ladies would really be anxious to find out if you could find something like that too. The cost is what is stopping a lot of the couples from being able to go on that kind of honeymoon. :D

Have you considered doing a last minute trip? You guys can plan on going somewhere tropical or over to the mediteranian for a fairly good price. But you'll have to wait until much closer to the wedding date.
I've had a number of friends go to Domincan Republic for cheap. They always had a good time. But i'm not sure what it would be like in September.
I would suggest Cuba to you. But you might want to wait and see what happends with Castro (sp?) We were thinking of going there in the winter but with his brother in power now and if he dies we're worried there could be problems.
Maybe stop by your local CAA office or travel agent to get some books to find out prices and what they include.
Good luck finding somthing! :grinhappy:

It may be really hard to get something for that price all-inclusive. especially including airfare. Matthew and I are paying $1400 for a week in SC but that is not including travel (we are driving) or food.
I wish you luck though! Matthew and I are on a tight wedding budget, under 3 grand, but we are not including our honeymoon in that, but I would sugest if you can spare some of your wedding budget for a honeymoon I am sure it will be well worth it, don't forget the marriage is about you and him, so reward yourself and celebrate alone somewhere that you will love!

Would you like a cruise? Check Carnival cruise lines, they send me emails with tons of great prices. Some shorter (like 4 day) cruises sometimes start at like $149/person, that probably isn't airfare, but you'd still have $700 left in your budget for that. Get on their mailing list at least, so you are notified of when have the big specials.

Ya our idea is to do a last minute trip. Find something and follow it to see how low it goes as a last minute deal. If it's hot and clean I'm there!!!!!! Air fare was only an idea. We can always check out cheap tickets.com or something like that.

You should check out the Poconos in Pennsylvania. it's a resort and caters to honeymooners. They have everything..including a hot tub shaped as a glass of champagne! I'll find a picture. My cousin didn't ahve much for thier honeymoon because they were going to Brazil a few months later, so I don't think it's very expensive.

Can't hurt to check it out..Good Luck!

It is going to be pretty difficult to find something with that price. The cruise idea was a good plan, but no telling what airfare will be. To bad you don't live near a port. They have cruise ships that go out of Galveston which is not far from us. I've known people who went on week long cruises and spent under $1000/couple. Maybe check out something within driving distance.

I know that to fly out of Toronto is brutal with cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! If we drive to Buffalo and fly out feromt ehre we save a ton of dough!!!! My idea is to find something really cheaop like 2 days before, book it and we're great!!! I saw some stuff for the Porta Viarta (can't spell it) for $400/ person all inclusive for this week. And I'm just trying to think cause it would be almost this time next year that we plan to go (unless I get a job with the school board).

Do you already have a passport? I don't know about Canada, but here they can get pretty pricey. We just got ours today.

Ya I already have one. I have another 4 years out of it. It's $87 here in Canada. Cuba is SUPER cheap for us here I know that.

It sure looks beautiful there! We can't go to Cuba as Americans. Well, I guess we could. It would not be a very good idea though.

Cuba is super cheap. My family went there a couple years ago for a week for $5000 for the 5 of them and they didn't skimp on anything. It was awsome.
Hamilton is good to fly out of for price. Maybe watch West Jet because they have seat sales fairly often.

While I was at my grandparents for Sunday night dinner tonight I came across one of there travel books with all the vacation info.
We found a 4 star all inclusive (air fare too) to Cuba for $789 and another for $937 Canadian! I was in shock!!!
It is an hour away from the airport, but it's on the beach. I was one seriously happy camper! I just wanted to pass ont he info to you gals. I do understand that those of you in the US can't do this, but I still wanted to pass the info on.

Me and Joe did not get the chance to go on a honeymoon! My work wouldn'y give me any time, and we have a little one, so that was out of the question.
Later this year though, we do want to go to Florida. I am a HUGE dolphin fan, so he promised me Swimming with the dolphins. I am so excited. We do have to take our little one, but he will be like a year and a half old by then.
Good luck finding something!:grinhappy:
