We have a heavy set brides maid and the other 5 have an average body size but we have to change the dresses we like and everyone likes for this one. Is it ok to have one with a different style? or is it wrong to feel mad to have to change what WE like to acomodate this 1 brides maid?
Please let me know!!

I don't think that it would look bad to have a different dress for the heavier BM. Maybe you could have the same dress but alter it...like say it has no straps...add them. You do not have to change the dress that you both like, just pick a different one for the heavier BM.

My BMs and MOH are all very different girls. Height, weight, hair, skin, they are all completely different. One is a size 24. One is a muslum. There are different concerns by each girl about their self conciousness-es, so I'm letting each girl pick her own dress as long as it is the right color and texture of fabric. Cost is an issue with the girls too, so I don't have to feel like the dress I've selected is too expensive, and there won't be resentment that the dress wasn't made for a particular body type.
The idea of having it altered is a good one. You can also let her wear a shawl if she is self concious. There are many options, and I know that certain designers have dresses that look just like the smaller ones only they are changed to accomidate a bigger girl.
Good luck, and keep us posted!

I have 6 bridesmaids that run from a size 2 up through a size 24. It was really important to me that all of my girls match at the alter. Picking out a dress for that many different peope is a hard task. I picked out a dress that I loved. I haven't heard any complaints. Also, after the ceremony and pictures they are all more than welcome to put on a black wrap if they want to.
Women understand that when they agree to be bridesmaids that they agree to wear without complaint whatever the bride picks out for them. It is part of the job description, nasty as it may be. I have been in some weddings where I could have cried walking down the aisle the dresses were so ugly, but you put your head up and smile because you love this person and you are happy to be there.

Can the dress be adapted for her body style? can you post a picture? or maybe just describe it.. if she is heavy in the upper body can she wear a wrap?
