OH I AM STEAMING RIGHT NOW! I just talked to my mother and we got four responses back (YEA RIGHT?) Well Nicks boss who is screwing us over for our honeymoon was invited him and his WIFE just the two of them.. What did they do? ADD THEIR 16 YEAR OLD SON on the response card. WTF? We did not invite him, we do not know him and he just got caught last month with a DUI, our wedding is during the day, on a saturday and gets done at 4:30, there is NOOO reason why they have to invite their son too.. He can stay home, we do not know him he does not know us and he is now costing us $31.50 to eat... is that allowed? Should I say something??? Melissa I need your advice right now!!! :)

You have every right to call them or have Nick talk to the boss at work and say something like, "I am sorry for the misunderstanding, but we are limited in space and/or money and the invite was only extended to you and your wife." Or, "I am sorry for the misunderstanding but we are unable to accommodate your son." They are the ones that breached etiquette, not you. I am, of course, assuming that the invite was only addressed Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and did not say "and family."
It's not the most comfortable conversation in the world, but we had to do it, too. Some people either don't get it or will push the line as far as they can.
I love your favors and FG dress! You guys make such a cute couple!

No, what they did is not allowed. If you did not put the son's name on the invitation then, no they cannot bring him. Guests do this all the time and you would think they would learn!!
I believe that it is okay for you FH to tell your boss by saying the following:
Thank you for replying to our invitation so quickly. I do need to mention though; we're on a tight budget for the wedding and we did only invite you and your wife and I noticed you added your son to the RSVP. We didn't include him when we sent out the invitations because we are limited to the amount of people we are inviting. Is there any possible way you can leave your son at home.
Also, are you planning and adult only reception? If so, maybe you could mention that as well.
I'm not sure if this is 100% good ettiquette to do this or not but considering he's a boss and not family this time it ettiquette could be put aside???

Just too add I'm sure I'll run into this too a couple of months down the road!! I have some people that I am inviting but I'm not inviting their children and I know they will push that with me and well I'm going to have to say no!
Goin2thechapel
01-31-2007, 07:39 PM
I had those problems too...Trust me it's not easy, but you need to be firm!! Don't worry (Hard I know) but everything usually works it's self out one way or another!!

I would like to add that you may want to consider the price of being right. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with you putting your foot down about an uninvited guest, if there is a possibility of Nick losing his job over it or even having to suffer through an uncomfortable situation in the office you have to ask yourselves if it is worth it.
You could say something like, "I am so sorry for the misunderstanding, as the wedding invitation was not extended to Jimmy and space is limited. But we will do our best to accommodate him, if we have a regret." That lets them know they are wrong and caught, but also shows you will be trying your "best."

Love the flower girl dress! It's very cute! That's a tough situation with FH's boss. I would do as Melissa said. Good luck on that one. That was very rude of them to invite their son. People did that at my wedding too. They just showed up with their kids and some even let their kids bring dates.

I have no intention of saying anything to his boss, I was just really steamed about it, but I guess that is just the joys of having a wedding. I mean it is not a huge deal, I just thought it was really rude and NEVER would I want to jepordize Nicks job or anything. So its fine, we have some friends who cannot come, so he can take their place right?
Thanks for the comments on the dress, my mom worked really hard on that. She is pretty proud of herself. I cannot wait to see it on her. :)

Thanks all for the kind words as well!!! Money is really tight with this wedding as well. But, as many have said... Its hard to have that conversation withy our boss since you are not having an adult reception and they have really hard time with their son and drinking and not being able to trust him at home. I guess I will be the bigger person here and just let it slide... Because, I AM GETTING MARRIED!!!!! hahaha

Well, you are being more of the better person in this situation, but I guess it's alwasy wiser to choose you battles too! I'm so excited for you and your FH!
Maybe they weren't trying to be rude about bringing their son maybe it's all about them just not being able to trust him or being able to leave him alone. I still don't think it's right. I think they probably should have asked you two first.
Good luck with everything...It won't be too much longer and you two will be the new Mr and Mrs!! Yeah!!

Thanks everyone. FH joked with his boss about his son coming and he kinda was sheepish about it... It was funny. We haev about 12 people who we KNOW are not coming so it is really OK. But we guessed that one couple was not going to come all the way from Virginia and what happened? They RSVP'd yes... hahah
After we got all our responses Nicks mother wants us to sit down and she will help with some of the cost.. PHEW!
nick has to work nights this weekend :( Guess not much sleep for Katy this weekend, but at least I can get some stuff done during the day while he is sleeping!

yea and his birthday is saturday as well. UGH! He has to work the gate on base and he always talks about how drunk people always come up and try to start trouble, I always worry about that. Last time he had to pretty much wrestle someone to the ground. UGH men. haha
We will see what treasures wait for us at home when I check the mailbox.. Its like christmas, but we have to pay for it. haha

Thanks Melissa!
I just made an Eye appointment to get new contacts for the wedding. I have been getting wicked migranes from looking at the computer. I HATE spending the money, but know I will need it and hopefully I can start wearing contacts again and get a cheap pair of glasses!!! :)
I will be doing that Sunday while Nick is sleeping off his nigh shift.
ladymelissa
02-01-2007, 04:01 PM
Good luck with that. Contacts can be a bit frustrating at first, just stick with it. I love mine, I don't like how glasses have that "edge" where you can't see well when the lens ends and contacts have the full 180 degree sight line.
NicksBride
02-01-2007, 04:14 PM
Thanks! I have worn contacts since I was 14, but since I started working and looking at the computer all day, they get really dry. Perhaps I need a new kind.. We shall see, butI am excited about new glasses!!! I want this kind.. sorta...

haha you are so right. I was thinking about that just last night. I am excited about people coming.. BUT GEEZ, its OK if you want to say no!!
My only concern is hitting 100 people, we AT LEAST need that many people to keep the room. Its like a game or something. After 100, I am going to start hoping for No's haha

Thanks! :) I will give those a try...
I just realized we have about 65 days until the wedding!!!!!
This weekend I am going to talk with my hair dresser and see if I get my hair trial FINALLY set up!! We were supposed to do it last weekend but she had to work.. lets hope she can do it in the next month!!
No bridal shower information yet :( I am hoping it will be soon, I am SUPER excited about it. My mom is suppose to plan it, but we shall see. hehehe
shawnsgirl
02-03-2007, 09:28 AM
Well, make sure you take pics of your hair trials so we can see them too! I can't believe how fast time flies on by..wow 65 days...
Well, I hope you get your 100 guests...we have to have 150- if we don't we keep the room but we still have to pay for 150 meals..
NicksBride
02-05-2007, 10:40 AM
Yea, its crazy how we have about 62 days now. I am counting days not months hahaha.
But this weekend we are doing the hair thing as I mentioned and then I am taking my hairdresser and her boyfriend who is also Nicks Bestman out to lunch just so we can talk and hang out!!
I think my mom is planning a surprise wedding shower adn I cannot wait. I am not sure when, where or what.. But I just am excited to know that she is planning it haha.
My mom called me in almost tears today, my brother and his fiance went to look at wedding bands thsi weekend and her e-ring has a star diamond in it and she wanted her wedding band to have the other three star diamonds in it. My brothers ring would have one of them and she would haev the other two. Well his ring is going to cost $700 to make and have the diamond in and hers is going to cost $1800!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My brother was like UMM we will think about it and right after he said that she was like "we will take it" My brother was like NO, if you want that ring which costs more then MYY engagement ring (Me, mine haha) then we will not go on a honeymoon because he is still paying off her $3500 engagement ring that she just got about 6 months ago! So they are not talking and my brother stated that he was worried about what this means for the future. They want to buy a house, and she wants to spend $1800 on a wedding band. I told my brother we MAYBE spent about $300 for both of our rings. He was like well yea, then she told my brother that should would buy his ring for $700, and he was like well thats fine, so I will pay $700 for your ring and you can pay the rest. They didn't talk all weekend they were so mad at each other. I am mad at her for expecting him to pay that much!!! ARGH I tell ya. But I will let them work it out themselves. SORRY long vent.... PHEW!

I'm sorry to hear about you brother and his fiance..You are doing the right thing by not stepping in. They probably should have sat down and said look this is our budget this is what we can and can't do. Shawn and I did that even before we started planning and we have been really good sticking to it. There's realy no discussion..if somethings to expensive we don't do it and that's all there is to it..
Hopefully, they will get through this and work this out. But, if they don't maybe it's a sign too.. who knows only time will tell I guess!

02-07-2007, 10:45 AM
Too bad about your brother and his fiance. As hard as it may be I think staying out of it is the best decision.
If they are having these issues now it probably isn't a good sign. Mike was in sticker shock when we started looking at wedding bands and wanted to know why ALL the ladies rings had diamonds in them. We have a budget for our bands and I wouldn't dream of overspending by that much. We have to adjust by about $100 (for mine) but that is workable.
Best of luck to them!
2 months, how exciting!!!!

02-09-2007, 10:48 AM
Well for some reason my boss is really big on having a sit down and putting everything out on the table and that is not how i deal with things. If something is bothering me i go to them quietly and talk to them about it as not to embarass me or them. So today, we were having our team meeting like we always do every friday. I kinda knew that this coworker was going to say something because she was acting funny. So she sat there and told us "I know things have been happening around here that I am not happy about and i know you are not as well so lets just put everything on the table and hash it out." I was like oh great!!! So we all just sat there for a minute. My boss sat there picking his nails saying he wasn't getting involved so i started by "this really isn't necessary and I think it is inappropriate right now, if we have a problem we can sit down and talk about it, not do it in a group forum." She got all defensive because I know she was trying to impress my boss and was like, well if yuo are uncomfortable you obviously have something to say! So I went off about how things were uncomfortable and she kept interrupting me and calling ME out on things and saying that i was not being adult about anything.. I pretty much told her that she should have been fired a long time ago ETC. I really didn't mean most of the things i said, but I was just soo fired up and upset.. I feel like trash and like it was jerry Springer.. UGH!!!! I am just so fed up with all of this and felt cornered. It was just a mess.:sob:

02-09-2007, 11:04 AM
I am so sorry it turned out like that! If everyone including the boss prefers things to be handled openly then try to say what you have to say as you would when you are in private. It might be difficult when she interrupts you, but always try to keep your cool and if necessary walk away. Honestly, if you can remain calm it may be better to discuss things in the open as that avoids a "he said, she said" or in this case a "she said, she said" situation. I hope this just blows over and you feel better.

Could be PMS, but she has been pushing your buttons for awhile now. So you let it out, we all make mistakes and mistakes can be some of our best friends as long as you learn from them.

Welcome to my journal Katie! :)
I think the highlights would be lovely; but if you are planning to try highlights in your hair, I wouldn't wait too long to do that. Any change in hair color wether highlights or an all over color should be done a couple of weeks before the wedding just to give it time.

Thanks all for the comments on the glasses. No one at work noticed the new me!! GEEZ!
This weekend I went with my mom to Montreal and we went to the casino and to IKEA, that store ROCKS. We had a great time and it was nice spending time with my mother!
I cannot believe the wedding is in SIX WEEKS!! In two weeks is my bridal shower, and I went to get my dress altered and all it needed was a bit taken in and then a bustle put on so it should be done SOON! So that was nice about that. TOnight I am heading to my mothers to get some place cards done, we are going to glue daisies on them and have peoples name on them, then next weekend the guys are going to get their tuxes fitted, or the weekend after not really sure which works best!
I am thinking I may actually cut my hair, and have it shorter for the wedding, I want my hair like Cameron Diaz in "there's something about Mary" Really cute bob, but I am not sure if I want that or an up-do.. What do you all think? So many decisions. I have to meet with Nicks mother to talk aboutt he rehearsal dinner..
*Make kennel appt. for dogs
*Make Nail appt. for me and my mom and Jenny
*Decide on hair
*Marriage License (When do you get that?)
*Decide on excursion for cruise
*Get ring fitted
*get dress from alterations
*Get it cleaned and pressed
*Seating Chart
*Finish Flower girl dresses
*Get Contacts
*Write Vows (Second Draft)
*Meet with DJ
*Meet with Wedding coordinator...
Oh geez, to much... BUT SO EXCITED!!

I prefer updos, but it is really a personal choice. I am also not so sure I would do a drastic change to my hair this close to the wedding, unless you are positively sure you will like it.
Marriage license: Check with your local laws, we had to get ours within 30 days of the wedding and in some places there is a 3 or more day waiting period. You can usually find this info if you do a search for either your local government websites or just call your local courthouse and they will tell you everything you need to know.
You are getting so close, it must be so exciting!
Any pics from your dress fitting?

oh yes I do!! I will make sure to get those up tonight as I am at work..

We had to go anytime within 30 days of the wedding, so we could have went the day before the wedding as there was no waiting period in OH. The license expired after 30 days so we couldn't go like 6 weeks before the wedding. We also had to go to the courthouse in the county of our residence. If we lived in separate counties then we would have had to pick one of the two.
Yay! Pics! :whoohoo:
NicksBride
02-20-2007, 12:32 PM
Ok I just looked into it, we can get ours anytime, but it expires 60 days after we actually get the license. So we can head out and get it anytime. We have to pay $23 for the license and then $9.50 to get it sent to us after we hand in the official documentation of us getting married...
Its so odd how you have to get a license, so funny.. I just found out as well that first cousins in Vermont can get married.. odd I know. haha

Haha thanks amanda. :)
Ok so right now I am soo upset! I had to deal with this at 7 AM this morning!!
I am just trying to do wedding stuff which, what else is new right? haha. I just can't wait for it to be over and to be married. Nicks mother as I told you is a B-tch and she always said that people will not come to our wedding because we were "Not thinking in planning a wedding Easter weekend" Everyone will not come because it is a religious weekend, well my grandparents and Jeff and Lorraine (Family friends of ours) are religious and they didn't mind that it was on easter weekend. Our wedding ends at 4:30 if people want to go to night mass for Easter they can, SUnday is easter not Saturday and Easter is meant for families right? WEll what is more family then weddings? Everyone I love and care about will be there Saturday and she is just making a huge mockery out of it.
So we are having problems getting people to RSVP and I am going to have to start calling people here in about a week if we do not hear from them. I KNOW we are going to have about 120 people coming, they just have not sent in their response cards, and Nicks mother is LAUGHING because she thinks she is right and we are not going to have a good turn out because of Easter.... UGH! It makes me so upset and angry when she does stuff like that... Does she want her sons wedding to be a failure (Which it won't be) Or what? UGH.. Sorry, that is just something I had to deal with this morning and I am still steaming hahaha. THis is what happens when I have no girlfriends to vent to. :)
I just had to deal with her making a mockery of my wedding and telling me that this is what I get for not thinking clearly.... UGHHHH!!! Sorry, thanks for listening all!

Ughh...I have a MIL like that!! Almost like she enjoys me being misserable and upset...Don't worry, Your wedding will be just great with an awesome turnout! I promise!
Jacklynn
02-22-2007, 09:17 AM
That's sad, its like shes HOPING that no one shows up just be like, I told you so. I am a religious person as you know, and I wouldn't have a problem going to a wedding the day before Easter. I mean if it was Friday it would be a little different since that would be Good Friday, but Sat. isn't a big deal.
I say figure out the deal why you haven't recieved a lot of RSVPs and don't worry about your FMIL, just try to ignore it, even though its sad
NicksBride
02-22-2007, 09:58 AM
Yea, she is wanting it to pretty much fail which is awful. I do feel bad since our rehearsal dinner is on good friday. But I read up on it and I guess you can just eat fish on the day... So we are going to follow that and just have a fish dinner.. I mean I do feel bad believe me, at the time I NEVER thought that easter was that sunday.. After she said something I considered moving the date again, but then the hall got booked and we just rolled with it. So I do have some remorse, but with a month before the wedding.. What can I really do???? :bbcry:
Then my uncle just wrote and we were planning on using his room to get ready in the day of the wedding. He is our photographer and we are buying his plane ticket and his hotel room for both him and his wife. So we thought it would be good if we could use their room to get dressed in, rather then buying a whole other room. So he said fine about two months ago, WE ARE PAYING FOR IT and we are just going to invade it from 7AM-11AM and again it is early.. But geez. So he just wrote me back an E-mail stating that his wife didn't want their hotel room turninginto a dressing room.. So now we have to find someone who is actually paying for their room to get dressed in. Either my 80 year old grandparents or my cousins.. ARGH! Why is it the month before the wedding things start falling apart? But it is OK, we will find a room, get all of our RSVP's in and be fine..
On another note, my half brother is coming with his new girlfriend. This is the half brother that I just found out I had about 10 months ago.... Interesting?!?!
ladymelissa
02-22-2007, 12:35 PM
Well you already have 72 confirmed guests, so much for the lousy turnout theory.
Your uncle should not have changed his mind, but that is his compensation for taking the pics. It does get crazy in hotel rooms during wedding preparations. At ours there was stuff all over, people everywhere coming and going, hair and makeup products everywhere. We were spread out over like 3 rooms and it was still mass chaos. It would be really hard on your aunt if she wanted to get ready for the wedding at her own pace. Why can't you get dressed where ever you are staying the night before the wedding or in a bridal room at the ceremony site? Or even if you had to buy one extra room, that is a pretty small expense in the grand scheme of things.
ladymelissa
02-22-2007, 12:59 PM
Actually, I feel the need to sort of amend my statement. Since your original "contract" with your uncle included use of their room to get ready in bet. the hours of 7 and 11, you do have a point of argument since you both agreed to those terms. If those terms are not acceptable to them they are free to book their own room and pay for it or you and them could come up with a compromise of some sort, maybe each paying half of an additional room. He is your uncle, but in this case he is also a vendor.
I do however agree with your aunt, that it may not be practical for her to get ready along with you and the BMs in a tiny hotel room. I hope you can work something out, that really is the trouble with "hiring" family esp. for a position as crucial as the photog as you don't want to hurt your family and you really don't want a pissed off photog taking your wedding pics. So choose your battle carefully. Best wishes with this.
mlm063007
02-22-2007, 01:20 PM
I agree with Melissa's 2nd post:)
While it would be really hectic, in the beginning that is what you agreed upon. I would try to see if there is some way to make a compromise. Like since he isnt letting you use his room to get ready, he can pay for half of it. Or something like that.
Let us know how it goes!!
NicksBride
02-22-2007, 02:52 PM
Yea, he did agree awhile ago but he is family and as Melissa said that is the hard part about "Hiring" family. But I asked my cousin and she said it was fine if we used her room as long as we remove our stuff before it gets to late, I told her RIGHT after the ceremony we would get our stuff out and she was happy. So no biggie I guess!!
This weekend we are doing the dreaded asking Nicks parents for money talk!! Wish me luck!

Lately I have been waking up to migraines that make me feel so sick. I have no idea what they are and am getting worried. I need to make an appointment with the doctor, I am not sure if they are stress induced or what, but I am getting quite annoyed with them....
TGIF!! Next weekend is my bridal shower!!!! WAHOOOO! I cannot wait for next weekend to get here. This weekend we are heading down for the mardi gras parade in town. Should be fun, just nice to get some good food and hang out with friends and family!!!!!

I hope you feel better and get the migraine issue sorted out! Have fun at the parade! The parade organizers are aware that Mardi Gras was this past Tues, right? LOL
NicksBride
02-23-2007, 03:37 PM
haha yea, they are aware. because of the 3 feet of snow we had the street where they head down are to narrow and therefore cannot make it all the way down. So they decided that another day would work the best! So here we are!!!
Nick got mad at me today for no reason, I am going to give my male coworker a ride home, who is MARRIED and has a cute 4 month old baby. Nick got all bent out of shape wondering why he couldn't have taken a taxi, or the shuttle. I was like A. Because it is right where I go to head home anyway B. I thought it would be a nice thing to do since he offers me rides when my car is out of comission C. He is a friend of mine, who Nick has met and likes.... I have no idea what his problem is. MENNNN!!!!! ARGH! :)

I don't know what could be wrong with Nick. You could either tell him the facts that you told us and then to knock it off or ask him why he feels insecure.
NicksBride
02-24-2007, 08:12 AM
He just said that he was hoping I was going to get home early because he had a surprise dinner planned for us and he wanted to relax with me before it. Which was sweet, and I told him that he did not have to be insecure since Chris is just a friend and is invited to our wedding and is a very nice guy. He said he was sorry.. I guess he was just having a moment, we all do sometimes right?!?! hahaha I know i do.
Today is mardi gras and everyone in my family is making such a big deal. Nick told me to "Dress Pretty" for it. I got about five text messages from people asking if we were going, I said i may not go and everyone is like NOOOO you have to go! Geez, since when did it become such a big deal?!?! Even my mom is going and she NEVER goes to Mardi Gras and she was ht eone who said I HADDD to go! I was just going to wear some jeans and a sweatshirt and everyone is telling me to dress pretty. uhhh OK....... Not really sure, but it had better be good if I have to go when it is freeezzzzing cold!!!!!
I will let you know how it goes and I am bringing my camera! PICTURES! :)

I HAD A SURPRISE WEDDING SHOWER TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the best surprise ever!
Here is how it happened, my mom asked me to help her bring boxes to her office and I was really angry about it because it was cold and I really wanted to go tanning (yes I am a brat) :bblol: Anyway, I was helping her and my mom took off like a shot and she was running to unlock the door nad I was like what the heck is she doing??
So we finally got upstairs and I was complaining because we were late and I thought the people were already there for the meeting and we were late. Well I had a HEAVY box and I opened the door and all of my friends and family were there and they yelled SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was the BEST feeling ever. Of course I ruined it and said "HOLY S H I T" hahaha. It was awesome!!
I got awesome gifts......
Tea Kettle Candles
Wooden Bowls A nighty from my nana
Coffee Maker
Perfume
Knives
WAFFLE MAKER
and a whole bunch of other things!!! It was awesome. WE had great food and played fun games. Now it all comes together. My mom and bridesmaids have been planning this for MONTHS!! They made invitations and they had the place all decorated with daisies and they had chocolate bars for the favors and Nicks mother was AWESOME!! It was amazed, she made wedding games and she made the wedding favors and it was just awesome. My nana was even there! I almost cried, but didn't!!!! I will have pictures once I get them from my mom and everyone! WAHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a blast!

On your wedding day just remember to live in the moment. Take it all in and really live it. There is nothing you can do if anything goes wrong, so either have someone else try to take care of it (and believe me people will step up, mostly before you even know about the problem) or let it go and move on. Don't concentrate on what you have to do next, whether it be pics or whatever. Just live it.

PAULA!! So excited to see you on this side!! This website is great and easier to get to then Weddingsolutions!! :)
Sorry about your FH mom, Nicks mom was SOO good yestarday I am soo amazed. She made three games, the purse scavenger hunt where the women would take their purses and see if they had these items in their purse that were worth points.. So everyone had their heads in their purses looking for mints, crumsb, pictures of their mother in law (Hahah) lipstick, kleenex, rocks, sunglasses, tampons etc. It was sooo funny. Then she had wedding word scramble which I won :) But I gave up my title to my bridesmaid Jenny. She got a great makeup carrier that Nicks mom made which is amazing, then she made wedding bingo, where I would open something and show it and if you had it on your squares you could cross it off, there was like flatware, bed sheets, coffee maker, victoria secrets etc... It was SOO funny everytime I opened something people were like OHHHHHHH I have that one, it had me laughing soo hard hahaha. It was great.
What a day!! This morning we made waffles with strawberries, whipped cream, and maple syrup!!! It was really bad for you, but it was really tasty!!! haahhaa DARN the diet. :)

Hey Katy,
You totally keep me up on the stuff that should be done, but I am always so far behind you. After this list, I got alot to do!!!!
My biggest fear is my Mom not being able to come. I have not seen her in 5 years and it does not look like it is working out for her to come. Your relationship with your Mom is much like mine with my Mother (when she was closer). I'm so happy for you!
Hope all is going well. Take care!

Hey Paula,
I hope things will come together adn I really hope that your mother can come, I imagine that would be really hard!!!
Well I had a WHOPPER of a bad day yestarday!
I got home, to find my puppy had chewed my $100 cashmere sweater, yes I know it was my fault but I was still upset and crying about it. FH was not watching him and he grabbed it from teh laundry room and chewed it RIGHT IN FRONT OF FH, I was soo mad. I know it was an accident but I LOVED that sweater!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I got a letter from my wedding coordinator stating that she just stepped down as the wedding coordinator at our wedding venue, which we paid BIG bucks to have her be there to make sure thigns run smoothly, so someone GOOD had better take her place or I will ask for my money back and hire one myself.. So I was crying and getting really upset. THEN, I scrapbook and make cards for people. I just bought a cricut, that cuts out things and phrases from paper to add to cards and such. My friends birthday is this weeknd and I ordered a cartridge that cuts out Birthday shapes and phrases and I was going to make cards for her party.. Well I have been waiting for this cartridge for THREE WEEKS, I opened the package and she sent me THE WRONG CARTRIDGE that I paid $60 for. I was just a mess!!!

Thanks everyone!!! It just really upsets me because it was the main reason why we picked that place was because we got an AMAZING wedding coordinator with the deal. Now, we are kinda stuck. But I called the place and asked for a call back, and stating that i was freaking out a bit. They still have not called back. Lets jsut hope they will soon.. I am sure there are other brides out there who are just as upset!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about the wedding coordinator. If you don't hear back from them in a timely manner I would definatly begin asking for refund or question the type of service you are going to receive. Perhaps, your original person may be going independantly and would accept doing it on the side for you still. I hope things get better for you! Good luck!

Just a month and one day now!!!! Nicks sisters boyfriend cannot come to your wedding whcih we are all kinda miffed about, since he was going to be Nicks groomsman and we already bought him and ENGRAVED gift, and a month before the wedding was like, " I do not have time to be in your wedding" so Nick was a little hurt by that, since it is his sisters boyfriend. But, he asked his friend that is coming home from Kosovo to be in the wedding, they have not seen each other for two years and Andrew is coming home for two weeks just for our wedding, how nice is that? SO I told Nick to ask him to be a Groomsmen, not making it sound like we are short, but making it sound like we really want him in the wedding (which we do) But making it sound like we were planning for him all along, but we were not sure he would be home.. (Which we were) So anyway, without being to confusing, we are really excited about him coming home and hopefully being a part of the wedding like we wanted him to be anyway.
This week I need to make arrangements for our dogs at a dog kennel :( For our honeymoon and our wedding weekend. WE do not want to neglect them adn have to worry about them while we are at the hotel and we do not want a house sitter since we do not know any and I always worry, so we are taking them to a kennel that Taebo LOVES! So he will be in good hands! Its only for a week...:sob:
Then I need to make an appointment for hair highlighting....Nails and such. I cannot believe it is sooo close!!!! hahaha

Nicks friend from Kosovo E-mailed and said he would be honored to be a part of the wedding. I started crying hahaha it just would mean so much to us and he has always been so kind to me and Nick that it really meant a lot. So I am off to get him a groomsmen gift. He is going to wear his Class A's for the military and said that he didn't want to stand out like a sore thumb, I told him to be proud of who he is and what he does, he was wondering if NIck was wearing his and I told him no, so he decided to get fitted for a tux. haha so cute. anywho, just wanted to share my excitment of my time frame and another Groomsman!!!!!!!!:p

What is Nick's AFSC? I was in the Air Force active duty and I was stationed at Ramstein AB. Which is in Germany, I should mention! I loved it, and I have some truly great memories from there. Naturally the traveling is out of this world too! Oh God, and the food. If you do end up near Kaiserslautern, which is the closest town to Ramstein AB, do yourself a favor and eat at the Schnitzelhaus. Their Jagerschnitzel is seriously the best I had in Germany.

I changed our vow wording a bit. Let me know what you think..
Friends and family, we all have been invited here today to share with Katy and Nick a very important moment in their lives. Everyone here has shared in their lives and today they want to share this moment as they become husband and wife.
Marriage is a promise, made in the hearts of two people who love each other, which takes a lifetime to fulfill. Within the circle of its love, marriage encompasses all of life’s most important relationships. A wife and a husband are each other’s lover, teacher, listener, critic, and best friend. It is into this state that Katy and Nick wish to enter.
Nick please repeat after me:
I, _Nick, take you, Katy, as my wife and best friend for life. I am so in love with you that I want to promise to stand beside you through thick and thin, through good and bad, through joy and sorrow. I want to spend the rest of my life hearing your thoughts and seeing your dreams. I promise to do my best to make our lives better and better from this day on because I am so amazed by you. This is my solemn vow.
.
Katy please repeat after me:
I, Katy, take you, Nick, as my Husband and my best friend for life.
The rings which you are about to exchange are an outward symbol of your inward promise that each of you had made to one another this day. They are your constant reminders that your hearts, minds and souls are forever taken.
When you are separated and lonely, the ring will always bring your hearts close to one another. It allows you to simply turn it quietly on your fingers as you are saying “I love you” the ring is a symbol of the unity into which two lives are now joined; an unbroken circle wherever you go, you will return to each other.
Now Nick and Katy please hold onto to one another’s left hand.
Nick: With all that I am, take this ring as a sign of our neverending love, I hope it is something that you will always cherish, as I will always cherish you. I love you.
Katy: With all that I am, take this ring as a sign of our never ending love, I hope it is something you will always cherish, as I will always cherish you. I love you.
Katy/Nick say a few things…..
Nick, I have choosen this time to express to you the joy that this day holds. You are my best friend and always will be. I am honored to be a part of your family and call you my husband. Every morning I wake up and know I am so lucky to have you by my side. I love your smile, I love seeing you discover new things, and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish in your life. Your spirit, your laughter and your love for life is what I cherish most about you. I know that marrying you is the best decision of my life, you take care of me and I am so lucky to have you as my husband. I know from this day forward you and I will be one, that is my promise to you. I love you.
And now, that you have taken your vows each to the other, and have declared the same by giving and receiving rings. It is my pleasure to pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride.
It is my pleasure for the first time, to announce Mr. and Mrs. B

Well we booked our last shore excursion for our cruise. We are swimming and feeding sting rays, it leaves at 7:30 in the morning haha. I am really scared, after what happened with Jeff Corwin I am really nervous, but they said they were tame so I guess I trust them. I get to feed them fish and stuff. I wonder if they bite....:petrified:
It should be fun.

Thanks for the compliments on the vows, I worked so hard on them Friday since I had the day off haha.
But I might have gotten an inch off, so really it was not that big of a deal. I had to get the DARK hair cut off or the highlights would not have looked so good. So I have about three weeks for my hair to grow a bit and it should not affect it in anyway. It really is not THAT much shorter. My hairstylist will let me know hahaha.
But i really like it, it feels healthier, so we shall see.
this friday we are FINALLY meeting with the DJ YEA!!!

Sooo meeting the new wedding coordinator tonight. Kinda scared, hope she is good. WE are going to go over what we went over with my old wedding coordinator and make a time for NEXT WEEK for our final meeting and final payment for the venue. I am so excited. :)
Then next week we are meeting the DJ FINALLY and getting that all done. After that we are ready!
Next friday we are heading out for our bachelor/bacherlorette party. We are heading to a local bar to ride the mechanical bull and have some drinks with friends. SHould be funny. I will post pictures for sure when that happens. :)

I can hardly believe that we've been married almost a month - it just doesn't seem possible!! I was gathering all of our pictures last night to put in one place so I can work on an album and I still can't believe that our day went by so fast!!
I'm excited for you!

We met the wedding coordinator and she was SOOOOO nice. The event manager is really a sweetie and he was really funny, nervous to be meeting us but I think they are going to be so much fun and she seems to really know what she is doing so I am really excited about that. 23 DAYS!!!
We made an appointment for next wednesday at 6:00pm to go over FINAL details, that is when we drop off EVERYTHING go over everything and give her our final payment. I have been waiting for this day for three months! Now it is six short days away, I cannot believe it! I am freaking out now. But I am going to breathe and I should be just fine. Loosing sleep finally, and getting nervous, but I lost two pounds hahaha. WAHOO. Probably nerves, but I am good, I am pumped and I am EXCITED..:petrified:

I want to enjoy the bachelorette party, the final meeting with the hotel, the nails, the rehearsal dinner the hair etc. It is going to be awesome. I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have a cricut, its this machine that cuts out letters on paper and is computerized so I can just type in KATY and it cuts it out... Notice the glittery letters? That was what I cut out with my cricut, so I entered a contest to win some cricut products. Just gives me something to do to unwind from wedding stuff. But I have about three scrapbooks to make when our wedding is done!!!!! I can't wait for that. It is going to keep me BUSY!!!! :)
22 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I make greeting cards with it, I have not bought a card in about a year. :) Such a dork, Nick calls it my big girl toy. haha

So this weekend, we are going to be snowed in. So i am going to finish my bridal shower invites which I forgot to send out. oops. But they will be sent out Monday. Then, I am going to work on my bridal shower scrapbook which I am excited about. I may start thinking about making some iron on shirts with jewels for my bridesmaids to wear on the rehearsal dinner, I thought they would be cute when we went to get our nails done!! Can I get those at Michaels?
TIA
