Well, I've read everyone's wedding journal and thought that if you all shared your stories with me (Which I love) then i should share mine with you.

I was a cold October day (Hahahah Theatrics make it real huh) I was a freshman in college. My brother told me about this amazing website where you could go online and get free condoms. Allow me to explain this. I was a psychology major and going for certification as a sex therapist. I was also a safe sex advocate, so if anyone on campus needed condoms they could come to me. How many of you think I'm a freak now? LOL

So I went onto Freecondoms.com (No longer in service I think) and in order to get free condoms you needed to sign up for things to get "condom points"

Some of the services to sign up for was an ebay account (10 condom points), Get a hotmail account (5 points), and one was to sign up for dreammates.com (25 condom points!) These points can be traded in for condoms, lube, hats, etc.

So I signed up (Even though I had a boyfriend) and put in all fake information except for my email address. The next day I had an email that read "Your matches for today" Jon was my only match. I thought it would be funny to email him back. Thing is: His sister signed him up for that without him knowing or consenting!

So he wasn't looking for anyone and neither was I but somehow we found each other. Destiny perhaps? I don't know, but our first date was with my parents (He was from the internet you know...a girl needs to be safe) and we went to dinner and then a department store. He came back to my house to watch a movie and we all fell asleep except for him.

Hope my story entertained you...I couldn't even have made this up. LOL!

The Engagement:

The first week of November 2004 I was at home, while Jon went out to practice his Sword fighting. The phone rang and I answered it. It was Zales (My favorite Jeweler) asking for Jon. I told her he wasn't home could I take a message ;) She said sure, Could you tell him that his order is ready and he can pick it up.

I knew for sure it was my ring, So I called him right away and told him everything. He played it off like he had no idea what that call was for. So he let me go and I'm not sure what he did, but I called my mom all excited and told her that I was going to get engaged real soon!!

So when he came home that night he got down on one knee and pulled out this long box. When I opened it I saw a diamond bracelet. I was dissapointed because I thought I was just going to get engaged. He said "Amanda I know that you've been expecting your ring and thought that I had it, but I want to show you that I bought you this bracelet for christmas, and I don't want you to be dissappointed."

Our anniversary (11/11) went by and nothing. I thought for sure it would be Christmas eve or day that he would propose. Well Christmas of 04 was the first year we were going to host dinner. This was our first big family gathering and I was nervous but excited about everyone coming over.

I was up at 5 that morning to start the turkey, so we opened presents first thing. After all of the gifts were opened, NO RING! I got up and started cooking while he stayed and played with his toys. I was slamming pans, and grunting. I've been waiting a long time for this ring, and he always told me it would be just the two of us somewhere quiet/romantic when he did it.

Well family came over and we all ate dinner. I was exhausted from being up soo early. We were exchanging gifts with the family and at the end Jon and I were in front of the tree and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him (With my ring !) My exact words were "I'm too tired for this" LOL...and it's on video with me saying that.

It was soo funny, but he had that ring since the beginning of november. Zales made a mistake in calling me and gave him a free bracelet to throw me off. My whole family knew what was going on except me...It was an awesome experience!

Okay, so tonight is our Jack and Jill. For those of you who don't know what that is it's basicallay a huge party thrown by someone (My mom) who sells tickets for people to attend.

In my case my mom rented a function hall and hired a DJ. She had family members etc. sell tickets for 10 dollars each. People bought them in order to come in the door. Then it's just a huge party with dancing, drinking etc. Whatever money is collected from the raffles and ticket sales is given to Jon and I to help with the wedding. Huge tradition in my family.

The only thing is, it's usually a surprise, but my aunt sent back her response card and on it she wrote " I'm sorry I can't make your Jack and Jill this Saturday, hope you have fun"

My mom was soo upset because it was no longer a surprise. I promised her I'd act surprised!..She's soo great! I was surprised for my Bridal Shower though, so I reminded her about that and she kinds felt better. Anyways, I'll tell ya tomorrow about all the fun!! Good night everyone!

Okay everyone,

So the Jack and Jill went very well. Between the admission tickets and the raffles, Jon and I were given $1015 dollars. Kinda shocked at how many people were there!

Everything for the wedding is coming together nicely. My bridesmaids all got thier fittings done. Making a basket for the wedding cards tonight. Dealing with the seating arrangements tonight as well.

We won a free dance lesson at a bridal show and are using it tomorrow night. We went upstairs last night and practiced dancing on our own and we both stopped at the same time and started laughing. He said "We need to call that dance instructor". HAHAHAHA

We have some surprises for the wedding too. When Jon goes up my dress to get the garter he'll pull out a rubber chicken, whoppie cushion, pair of huge underwear, and something else that I can't remember right now. No one knows about that except us and our DJ.
Then our second surprise is when he goes to feed me the cake. There's an on going joke in the family about us smashing the cake in each others face, so when it's time for us to feed each other, we bought a pair of swimming goggles that we'll put on.

I want my wedding to be light and fun. I already know that I'll be giggling through the whole mass because when I'm nervous that's like an automatic response for me.

But as said earlier, I'm soo excited about the wedding that I'm actually loosing sleep just thinking about my special day, that will be over in a blink of an eye :(

You could have a pretty glass container next to your guest book with pieces of decorative paper and have each of he guests write you a suggestion to a happy marriage.

Everything is looking pretty darn good. For my hair I've decided to go with a style almost like Julia Roberts in "Steel Magnolias". Problem is, I have a huge crown, so I can't have a simple ponytail, bun, etc. Suggestions welcome. I have medium/long hair.

Umm tonight is my bachelorette party, so I'm super excited. I'll post pics when I get home tomorrow!

Other than that, I'm just waiting to get married!!

I am loosing my mind. I just started a new job last week. (going awesome) I love it!! This week I haven't even been thinking about the wedding cause I've been soo busy!

Last night was the first time that I actually sat down for a second to think about the wedding and got Butterflies for the first time!!! I am soo excited.

Jon told me that he hasn't had any time to really think about how he feels about getting married, and neither have I. I'm affraid that things are just going to go soooo fast and I'm going to miss it all :(

The Rehearsal was sooo much fun!!! I had such a great time! I laughed a couple of times on the altar, but that was just because I was nervous.

After the rehearsal we went out to dinner. When I gave out the gifts we had all parents crying, even my dad!!!!

The only part of the night that made me sad, and I found this out later, was he was talking to Jon before saying bye to everyone and he said
"I'm not ready to let her go" Awww....I love my dad... :(
