Hey everybody,
so, me and Joe have been trying to move into this apartment. It is really nice, however they ar income based for some unknown reason, anyway, we filled out the credit app. last weekend, and we just got the news today. Our credit checks came through okay, but we make like $1,000 a year too much.

I am sooo bummed out now! I have been counting on this for awhile now. Every time we try to get a house, or move something happens.
I thought we had it this time. :sob:

Anybody have any advice??? I just want ot cry right now!!!

So sorry to hear that you were not income elidible to get the apartment. Is there any other complex's in your area that are not so strick on the income levels that you can still afford??

Yeah, there are other apartments, but this one already had a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, 2 bathromms, built-in computer desk, garden tub (2), all the works for $600.00/month, which is a da#% good deal around here.
:bbeek:

I know that people on Welfare sometimes face discrimination by landlords here in Canada (which is illegal) but I have never heard of making too much.

Is it government subsidized housing? Is that why they look at income? Can you re-apply and change the numbers? Is there some sort of appeals process?

I was going to say the pretty much the same thing. Can you reapply and change the #s? If you have to, you can tell them you were laid off(if it isn't too low by your husband's income only) If you do that I would mention it to your boss(if they would be cool about covering for you) just incase they call him/her to to verify it. I hate to lie, but a little white lie for a good cause never hurt anyone!
