I'm having a shawl. One of our local fabric stores has a department known as the Galleria. It specializes in bridal and special occasion fabrics. I purchased about 2 yards of a sheer ivory silk blend that's going to be perfect. I spent about 40 dollars on that.

I'm going to have my alterationist fold it in half and sew around the edges so that it's a double layer (covers my arms a bit better. ;) ) I'm also planning to have her add a loop and button so that it can be buttoned in back. That way I'm not spending the entire day trying to hold the shawl up.

I was looking for an antique shawl to match my dress and I found it on Ebay (now if that doesn't sound like the commercials, I don't know what would LOL)

Have a look there. At the very least, you can get an idea of the prices & types available.

I had a white shawl. I could show you a picture and if you wanted to purchase it from me, I would sell it to you. I paid around $60, but I would sell it for $25.

What I was TRYING to say in my agreement was...That's really sweet of you!
