My boss's wife has an anual Halloween party at a closed to the general public restuarnt. I tried to get my girlfriend to go with me but she wouldn't so I went alone. Of course there would be other people at the party I knew but it gets quite big and most are couples. I digress, so my boss kewn I was coming alone as did some mutual freinds. As soon as I got to the party (as a "cutesie" witch with green hair) my boss greets me and says he has a really nice handsome guy he wants to introduce me to (his wife was in on it too but just way too busy with the party). So we find this guy and he proceeds with the introduction (he was a biker :) ). Now, I was divorced for about 3 1/2 years at this point and had just broken up with "transition guy" so I wasn't really looking. I was polite and somehow we went about our way. Then I bump into a mutual friend Pete who was in on the whole "I have someone I want you to meet thing" ( but who evidently wasn't privy to the prior introduction) says just that, he has someone he wants me to meet. Of course I'm paraphrazing as they were really selling it. I had gotten some appetizers when he walks up to me with... "Hey same guy". Which of course gave us an inside joke and it was akward but cute. So we made a few jokes about it and talked for a bit but eventually went our separate ways. No kidding about 20 minutes later Pete's girlfriend gives me the whole "someone I want you to meet" deal and again had no clue this had already happened. By the third introduction Dave and I really had a good laugh.....however I couldn't help but think " God he must think I'm desperate!" Anyway we thought alright already and sat down to talk and we danced ( which I later learned he hates) and talked more and then it was time for me to go (my son was 5 and at home with my mom). So Dave walks me to my car, asks me out on a date and they rest is history....we will be married on November 21, 2006 on a beach in Maui. Just the three of us, the ocean and God (well a minister and photographer too but is sounds so much more romantic/poetic the other way).
I have found such a wonderful man that my faith in that his kind exist was restored. I could not ask for more.
