Bridesmaids Dress Help

Hi,
I have 4 VERY different bridesmaids, one is 6'1" tall, another is 5'6" but had a very large bust, and 2 who are about 5'4" and thin. I was thinking i wanted to do seperates, but all the prices i have seen are a bit too much for everyone.
I'm wondering if it might be better to pick a colour and have everyone find their own dress in that colour. Or pick a fabric and have everyone make a dress to fit their needs/personal style or have them all where the same dress that would hopefully meet everyones needs.

Has anyone seen a wedding where all the girls had different dress styles in the same colour? How did it look in the photos?

Well, I only had three bridesmaids and two different dresses but it worked quite well and doesn't look "weird" in any pictures. My MOH is slightly larger then the other two girls and didn't feel that a strapless gown would do her justice, so we choose a different style for her. It worked out well and looked fine. As far as picking a color and allowing them to buy a dress, you will have to be warey of dye lot differences if they are not all ordered from the same dye lot! (Or same designer.) If you want to pick material to have dresses made, you might want to make sure that all the fabric comes from the same roll and again the same dye lot. (otherwise you might end up with dresses slightly darker and slightly lighter then others....as the same with ordering them.) Just my advice to you, get together with your bridesmaids and order them all from the same place and same dye lot. Best of luck!

i had a varying degree of different sizes for my girls too. They are all in the same dress though. we just went from dress shop to dress shop and tried on dresses. my one bridesmaid is very tall and VERY busty so the shop said that they could alter the dress to keep her more supported, but once the dress was in and fitted the straps were not needed. :D

I have 8 bridesmaids and 1 MOH.
As you can imagine heights, weights, shapes and sizes vary! I selected platinum as my color and all of the girls chose their own dress.

Choosing a color and them letting them find dresses that comliment there shapes as well as each others dress is you best bet.
