That morning I woke up and had a lot of stuff to do. I had to pick up the flowergirl dresses and then have a quick tan. After that I went to the mall and grabbed some clothes for the honeymoon that I had taken to the seamstress. When I got back to my car it was acting funny and had the "check engine" light flashing. I was freaking out hoping my car would make it home without needing a tow. Thank God it did and I just let it sit there and didn't try to use it. My bridesmaids started showing up around 10:15 that morning because we had to go over to the spa and get our pedicures!


After that we got ready for the rehearsal. I couldn't have asked for better weather. I was thanking God all day for providing me sunshine like I had prayed for since FEBRUARY for this day. Our wedding co-ordinator said that she had never seen so many people come for the rehearsal itself. I think there was about 50 of us!

Rehearsal Dinner

We went to this great place that we had rented out so it was just our party! Bryan and I picked what food we wanted on the menu. Everything looked absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and the place was decorated so beautifully with gerber daisies on every table in different colours! The whole night was a lot of fun! I gave the kids their gifts. Connor, Kallie and Promise loved their back packs filled with goodies. They wore them the entire night!

I was glad to have this time to visit with everyone including my biologically father that I haven't seen in 5 years! He had tears in his eyes the whole night and really made himself comfy with all of Bryan's family!

I had a dilemna with having my bridesmaid Sasha in the wedding because her ex boyfriend was the bestman and he was bringing his new girlfriend? Well Sasha is the one in the back of this picture on the right hand side with the dark brown hair. Her ex boyfriend Chris is in the front of the frame on the left and his new girlfriend Candice is the blonde on the left. I felt bad for Sasha because she ended up leaving early crying because it was too much to handle. She had an hour's drive home even though she was supposed to spend the night at my house. My Mom and Aunt were so worried about the next day and how she would be, but she did a great job of keeping it together and not letting it bother her.

August 18th 2006

The morning of the wedding I woke up at 6:45 and first thing that I did was check outside. The sun was shining so beautifully and I could not wait to start the day! My Mom made all of us blueberry pancakes before we left for our hair appointments. Sasha showed up early and I was so thankful she made it in time. I was worried about the traffic because she had a far ways to come. So we all piled in my dad's big Denali and left for the salon!

So how many girls does it take to hold a veil?

We arrived back to my house earlier than I had expected to! My photographer showed up and so did my videographer. I made a quick trip upstairs to MLW and posted my last post in my journal as a single girl! My videographer caught me and got it on tape! I went into my Mom's room to get dressed. The only person with a camera in there was my photographer, so I will post those pictures later. It took a little while to get in my dress and to do it up. I had my something old, some borrowed and something blue. My dad later gave me my something new. My something old was a gag gift. It was an anklet my mom and Erin (BM) gave me when I was 15!! They made it as a joke for my junior prom. It looked like a cat toy, with yarn and bells on it. They could hardly keep a straight face when they gave it to me back in 1999. So Erin brought it with her and asked if I would wear it for the wedding. She was kidding, but I said "sure!" it could be my something old. My photographer got pictures of her tying it on my anklet and I left it there all day! My something borrowed was from Tasha. She lent me a REAL Tiffany's necklace. I wasn't going to wear a necklace before, but I could not say no to Tiffany's!!!!!! It was the perfect necklace too... very small and it wasn't over powering. My something blue was the ribbon on my garter. My something new is so special! My step dad Evan, who walked me down the aisle gave me a white gold diamond bracelet. He is one of the shiest men I have ever met, but has a heart as big as this universe! He has only been my dad for 5 years now and he is amazing. He mustered up every ounce of courage he had and gave me this bracelet in front of everyone at my house. He even asked my Mom to write about a little speech that he made too. He came down our winding staircase and said to me "Stacie, I wanted to give you something on your wedding day. We don't have any family heirlooms so I wanted to give you this and it could be our new family heirloom so that one day Bryan can give it to your daughter." I was a mess, crying my eyes out but trying not to wreck my make-up. I am so glad we got it on video and on camera!!!

I forgot to mention earlier that before I left my hair salon my hair stylist Barbara gave me a beautiful pink bouquet! Seeing as I had arranged for the florist to drop off all the flowers including my bouquet at the ceremony site, I had NO bouquet for my pictures at my house beforehand. This bouquet worked perfectly for all of the pictures by myself at home! I was so happy to have it.

My house was getting busier and busier as people started piling in. When I saw my Uncle Nathan, who is my MOH's husband, walk through our garage door I could only see his reflection and he was wearing a SUIT! My Uncle does not get dressed up for ANYTHING and he had been telling me for 2 months he was going to wear a kilt! Well whenI saw him the waterworks started to flow! I reached up to his 6'4" stature and gave him a big hug and told him how much I love him and he told me he loved me too. It was such a special moment because since I was born he has been the only steady male role model in my life and until my Mom got married to Evan I wanted my Uncle Nathan to walk me down the aisle. He is like a dad to me, and to see him put a suit on for me told me just how special he thought today was. I will never forget our hug that day.

I can not wait to see the pictures from getting ready that day.

Then it was time to head for Mayfair for the wedding to begin! When we got in the limo and started to drive away I realized I had forgotten my lipgloss for the day on the kitchen counter! So the limo guy had to drive around the block for my MOH to go get it. Then we started to drive away and I realized I had forgotten my BC pills so my MOH and to go in AGAIN because tonight would be the first time they actually counted for something! Then it was off to the ceremony. The ride seemed to take forever even though I only live 10 minutes away. I was so excited to see Bryan! The whole day everyone kept asking if I was nervous and I kept saying no. Everyone could not believe how calm I was. They had never seen a calmer bride. I didn't see the point to stress at this point. All I could do was done and I had no doubt in my mind that I was doing the right thing. I was so ready to get married!

We arrived at the place and I scurried out of the limo and into the room to hide. I invited one of my friends who actually worked at the store where I bought my dress so I had her come to the back quickly to tie me in properly because I didn't think my dress was on properly... and it wasn't! I was so thankful she was there! After that I had to take my first bathroom break in this huge pouf! So I had 3 bridesmaids escort me to the bathroom to lift my dress and help me pee... I think that maybe 1 person got a pic. That would be a sight to see!!

Then Devon my WC and told me "It's time!"

We walked through the restaurant to where we had to walk from. My heart really started to beat hard! I got nervous all of a sudden... my hand's were shaking. The restaurant staff helped ease my nerves. I chatted with them as the rest of the BP made their way down the aisle. The kids were SO GOOD walking down the aisle. They did it as if they had been doing it since they were born! Then it was my turn. I looked at Evan and said "are you ready?" and he said "yes." We got outside and the wind picked up and started blowing my veil into my face and squishing my hair. I knew it wouldn't look good in pictures so I had to lift it over my head before we got to the alter. My Mom told me yesterday that when Bryan saw me first step out he said "HOLY GEEZ!" she said it was so sweet. So then I proceeded to walk down the aisle. A feeling I will never forget. It didn't feel like it was my wedding. It felt like I was pretending. I just remembered to look at as many familiar faces as I could and smile at them.

As soon as I turned the small corner to walk down the aisle I saw Bryan up there and all my focus was on him. It was as if I was gliding down the aisle staring into the most beautiful face. He was crying a little and pushing back tears. He looked SO HANDSOME! I got up there and he was crying which made me cry. We said we loved each other and just gazed into one another's eyes. I don't really remember hearing the ceremony words at all. It happened so fast!

My poor brother Lance on the very end on the right almost passed out from the heat! He has been known to faint a time or two and my Mom saw him start to sway and she saw the "look" that he gets and told my Auntie Niki to go and get him some water. She did it at the right time he told us because he was about to fall.

When I turned that corner to start my walk down the aisle I saw my handsome man standing there with huge tears in his eyes. From then on I had tunnel vision. I could not and did not see a single soul around me and I felt as if I was floating towards him. I remember my Grandma asking my dad "Who gives this woman to be married?" and him replying "Her mother and I do" and kissing me on the cheek. I just stood there looking into Bryan's watery eyes with his lips all pursed and trying so hard not to cry. The weird thing that I do remember is my lio gloss going all funny! It had somehow became crumbly and was so annoying. I wanted to wipe it off and ask my aunt for some chap stick, but I knew I couldn't do that, so I lived with it.

My Auntie Niki got up and read a passage from Ruth in the Bible.. I hardly even remember hearing it I was so entranced with all that was going on.

I kept standing there and not listening to the ceremony very much. When it got time to do the vows Bryan was a mess. He got choked up on so many parts and could barely get some of it out. I just stood there taking it all in and trying to capture that moment in my head and freeze it there. I can still remember his face and his eyes... I have never felt so loved!

Next it was time to give the rings. I had forgotten to ask on MLW what you did with your engagement ring for the ceremony. Well I didn't get an answer because I didn't ask, so when he reached for my hand to put it on I still had my engagement ring on. Oops! Oh well... Bryan said not to worry and he got it on very smoothly with no major bumps!

Me and Kallie. By this point I was STARVING!!! All I had eaten and drank this entire day was 2 panckaes at 7:30 that morning. When this picture was taken it was around 4:30pm. Some of my bridesmaids went in to get me a plate of appetizers but I was so hungry I could hardly eat it! Then we all piled in the limo again and left for city hall to take our pictures! On the way there I felt so sick... I was starving and I have a bad problem with my blood sugar. It gets so slow and I start to black out, get rushing water sounds in my ears and want to throw up! When we were driving there my corset on my dress was so tight, the limo was squished, I was hot, tired, uncomfortable and so worried that I was going to be sick and have to leave the reception. I wanted to cry! THANK GOD I saw a can of coca-cola sitting in the limo and asked Bryan to hand it to me. It had so much sugar in it, that's exactly what my body needed! I drank almost the entire thing and by the time we got out of limo and I had some fresh air I felt so much better!! I was relieved and thanking God for taking away my sick stomach. Bryan and I got so many great pictures at City Hall and then the limo driver came over and told us he had to leave and be somewhere by 5:30. Well it was already 5:30 so we had to pack it in. We did have to come back for dinner at 6:15 so it wasn't too much of a problem, but I was a little ticked that he made us rush. I wouldn't have done that because for heaven's sakes THIS IS SOMEONES WEDDING!!!

When we got back to the golf course we did a few more pictures on the island where the ceremony was held and then went in for dinner! I loved being announced into the room and was so happy with our choice of song, "Beautiful Day" by U2. It was amazing to see everyone standing, and clapping and cheering for us! I was GLOWING!

So in the next picture I know exactly was I was thinking/saying. My step brother Jermaine was invited to my wedding. I had confirmed it with him a few times that he was going to be bringing his little daughter too! He kept saying yes and yadda yadda yadda. I saw him 2 days before we got married and even confirmed it with him THEN! Well guess who did not show up? Jermaine! I was so unbelieveably dissapointed and I am so angry with him. My brother Lance who is sooooo close to him is furious with him still. I was crushed and am still very sad... so that is the story to my facial expression here

Next we had dinner. When they brought me outside to look at the buffet dinner... OH - MY - GOD! I have never seen such an amazing spread of food! We had a seafood platter that in my head I was picturing a tiny plate with a few different assortments of seafood. Well they should have called it a seafood fountain the way it was displayed! It had everything including alaskan king crab legs, huge scallops, fresh oysters, mussels, baby clams, etc. I was totally blown away by it. But of course, all I could force down was 2 pieces of cauliflower and a bite of chicken. My stomach was rejecting everything becauseI was way too over hungry. Everyone is still raving about the food and I didn't get to enjoy it

Ok so after dinner we started on the speeches! My Uncle Nathan got up first and did the toast to the bride. I was teary eyed as we went on to tell everyone how proud he was of me and all of the sweet stuff an uncle would say about their niece. When he got to the part for everyone to stand and raise their glasses to me, I grabbed my toasting flute and stood up as well raising my glass. I had no idea you weren't supposed to toast yourself. My Mom caught my eye and motioned for me to sit down. I felt so silly because I shouldn't have stood up, but I didn't know! So I sat there as everyone else was standing and toasting to me. Oops!

I don't really remember the order of who went up next. My aunt (MOH) went up too and made a toast to me. So did Bryan's dad, his brothers, Chris his best man, my Mom and Dad, my bridesmaids Breanne, Erin, and Sasha.

But THEN my little brother got up somewhere in between those ones. I forgot to mention earlier how emotional he was during the ceremony and how he would just catch my eye while we were going through the vows and mouth to me "I love you". This coming from the kid who I NEVER thought even liked me!! Well that is a bit of an over statement, but I really did now know how much he loved me until this day. He got up and made the most heartfelt speech that seriously brought the house down!! I looked around the room and everyone was either dabbing their eyes or just plain out crying! He basically told Bryan that even though he is my younger brother he has always felt like my older brother. Being very protective of me. And today he was trusting Bryan with me, and giving me to him knowing that Bryan was the perfect partner in life for me. He told Bryan and me that he loved us both very much. All of this while a manly man type of guy is SOBBING! I got up after and gave him a big hug and he kissed my cheek. I know when I watch the video of that I will be a MESS!

Then Bryan got up after him and made his speech and HE was crying!!! It was the most emotional wedding I have EVER been to and everyone said it was so beautiful! In the middle of Bryan's speech he had to stop to catch his breath and try to hold back the tears. His older brother Eric got up from the head table and went over to give him a hug and that totally helped because Bryan was able to continue after that. He was mainly crying because he had a crazy childhood. His parents divorced while he was quite young and it was a MESSY divorce! He lived most of his life with his dad way up north and only saw his mom a few times a year. It killed his mom that her 5 kids didn't live with her, and he always struggled with not wanting to hurt either parents feelings. So anyways, a lot of his emotion that day stemmed from that.

After all the speeches Bryan's drunk friend Ryan got up on the mic and made a nonsense speech about nothing and was escorted out right after that by Bryan's 2 older brothers. THANK GOD! We showed a slideshow of us growing up on the big screen and I was a little chocked because our MC Chris told everyone to get up for dessert while we were playing the slideshow. I had a small bridezilla attack because my uncle had worked SO hard on it and I didn't want people ignoring it! Considering earlier on we totally forgot to put the programs out for the ceremony that my Uncle Nathan worked so hard on too!! So Chris told everyone there was a slight change in plans and to please watch the slideshow. By the time everyone had quieted down almost all of my pictures were finished playing. Oh well. I had put a lot of photo's in of Bryan's grand-dad who passed away 2 years ago and he was the rock of the family that I sadly never met. Well the waterworks started up again and all of Bryan's family was CRYING! I went over afterwards and apologized for making them all cry, I was just trying to include him. They weren't upset at me it just brought back good memories and they were wishing he could have been there for this.

I can not for the life of me remember what came first... the dance or the cake cutting. So I will first tell you about our first dance. We chose the song "Making Memories of Us" by Keith Urban. It was PERFECT! Bryan sang most of the song to me while we were dancing, while I told him when to twirl me at the appropriate times. When we were finished everyone had told me that was the most romantic first dance they had ever seen!! My Mom had tears in her eyes the next day thinking about. They said how it was so sweet and they loved that he sang most of the words to me! Most of the non-pro pics are blurry and you can't really see them that well.

So for safety's sake let's just say we cut the cake after that because I don't remember the order!! We did not do the traditional smooshing cake on the face because personally I think it is a little tacky and I didn't want cake all over my face and dress, so we fed it to each other nicely! Funny story about my ring bearer. He is totally in love with me and is just the cutest kid there is! Well he fell asleep with the wedding cake on his lap. Everytime someone would walk by he thought they were trying to take his plate and would (in his sleep) say "No! That's Stacie's wedding cake! Don't take it!" It was adorable...

We did the bouquet toss shortly after and the best man's girlfriend caught it!! She did have a slight height advantage (she is 6'3 and GORGEOUS). Oh ya, one thing I forgot to mention. When the best man did his speech he singled out his girlfriend Candice in it and said that she has truly shown him what love is, yadda yadda yadda. Poor Sasha was sitting there and had to hear it! He said that for Sasha's benefit and it was a slam that no one should ever have to feel! Ok so whatever, then she catches the bouquet!

I was so sad to leave, but at the same time very excited because I knew what that night was all about! When we were getting ready to leave the DJ played "Like a Virgin" and the room went nuts! Everyone was laughing and dancing the night away. The DJ was great! When that song ended, Bryan's brother Eric requested that song that goes like this "Relax, don't do it when you wanna go to it. Relax don't do it, when you wanna come." I don't really know the words, so those could be wrong.. but anyways it was funny. We finally got out of there and jumped in our limo and the party was done for us. It continued for another hour for everyone else. We had to make a quick stop at the grocery store for chapstick because our lips were so dry, and of course you know I'm an addict!

When we arrived at the hotel/casino we got out of the limo and everyone started clapping and saying congrats to us! We checked in and were escorted upstairs to the penthouse suites! We knew we didn't book a pnethouse and were kind of confused. When we opened the door to our room, we had a 1200 square foot apartment practically with a gorgeous view of the river and all of the sail boats! Tasha had managed to get us an upgrade to a $1000 a night suite! She went in earlier that day and got the place ready! The fireplace was on, the lights were dimmed. The bedroom was covered in rose petals and my lingerie was neatly arrnaged on the bed. There were fresh strawberries and cool whip on the table with a bottle of sparkling shiraz! Bryan sat me on the couch and gave me a present. He had bought me what I had always wanted for my wedding day and I only mentionned it once about 4 months ago. He had ordered me a white "Bride's Bible" with my NEW name engraved on the outside. He also had a card that was so sweet!! I gave him a letter I had wrote him a loooong time ago thanking him for waiting til this night for it to be our first time and for making all of my dreams come true. I went into the bathroom and changed into my lingerie which took about 10 mins!!! And then it only took 30 seconds to remove lol!

I have to tell you girls the most wonderful part about the whole day. Most of you by now know that I was a virgin on my wedding night. I was really nervous and really excited. I had asked Bryan a long time ago to please look me in the eyes as it was first happening.. you know, when we did it for the first time! Well he did, and I will never forget that. The part that makes me have goosebumps is the song that was playing on the radio at the exact moment that it happened was 1 Corinthians 13 - The Love Chapter!

It was the perfect way to end the most perfect day!!

WOW is all I can say after looking at those pic's of your wedding day it really looks like something that you would see on TV or out of a magazine. You can really tell how much you and your new husband love each other and how much your family means to you.
