Photographs

Any suggestions on how to arrange things for photos? Do you have pictures with the bridal party and the family or are these two groups seperate? Also what do you all think of the idea of having someone around who won't be in the pictures but could be there to arrange the dresses or do little touch ups once you are all arranged?

Please let me know your thoughts on this........ :?

I will be taking all of my photographs prior to the ceremony. So that guests will not have to wait for hours and have nothing to do. I've been to so many weddings, where this has not been taken into consideration! Especially when the ceremony and reception is at the same venue.
I will be taking pic's with the bridal party (because they will be there earlier) and then with both sides of the family.
For the most part, I will leave the arrangements to the photographer.

I agree with "iluvweddings", a professional photographer that has been doing this for a while will be able to work with you and come up with a plan that works best for the "story" you want your wedding album will tell.

In my experience, there are pictures of the couple with the wedding party as well as the couple with each side of the family (3 separate pictures)taken after the wedding. Most photographers have a standard list of shots to take at the weddings. This kind of thing should be discussed in the pre-wedding consultation.

I always recommend to take as much of the pictures you can before the ceremony as to not take too much time out of the reception.

Long waits are not fun as a wedding guest. Just make sure that there is something for them to eat/do while they wait, and I'm probably going to take a lot of mine the day before, since I want to hit the Alamo, and the Japaneese Tea Gardens in my dress. I live in San Antonio, by the way..

Though I do suggest to take as many paictures as you can before the ceremony, there are still going to be some taken after the wedding and your guests will be left alone for a few minutes.

Here are some ideas to keep the guests busy before you make your entrance ... 1. "Growing up' DVD slide show 2. Signature mat 3. Games 4. open the buffet or have cocktails and finger foods
