My children and I can swim like fish. I was a certified lifeguard instructor, and knew every single swimming stroke that was ever invented. lol My children grew up in a pool. My grandbaby is scared to death of water and doesn't know how to swim. I want him to learn as soon as possible, because my sister's one-year old granddaughter drowned in 2002, while she was watching her. :sob:

I know how to swim. I'm not a strong swimmer though. I don't really like the water because i don't feel comfortable with my ability to swim.

Does doggypaddling count?? :D My mom was terrified of water and refused to allow me to learn how to swim. The only way I finally learned was because my dad decided I needed to know and bought a swimming pool for that purpose, when I was 14.

I like water, but I'm not a big fan of swimming. I don't like not being able to touch the ground, so that limits stuff. And water is usually too cold for my liking, even when it's 100+ degrees outside. I prefer to float or just stand around in the water if I'm around it.

My daughter and I swim like fish. However for some reason I can't swim underwater. Try as i might i cannot get under any further than my head and part of my body. I think it is my built in floatation devices. haha.

I am a good swimmer, I know how to do most of the strokes and can swim for a decent amount of time.

I'm a very good swimmer. I grew up in a house with a pool so knowing to swim was a must.

I can swim, DH cannot. When we went snorkeling on our honeymoon he had to use a floaty thing ;) But the water was pretty rough even for me, so I hung on a bit too ;)

I can swim but would not consider myself a strong swimmer when it comes to deep water. I do better in pools so when I get tired I will have something to hold onto and rest a min. My kids are wonderful swimmers though thank god

My mom was scared of the water and when I was born, told my dad that she didn't want the same thing for me. Dad was a fish and made my sister and I both that way. To me, swimming is like reading, I don't remember a time when I didn't know how. Lifeguarded all summer through high school and taught swimming for several years. Would rather spend a weekend at the lake (swim, waterski, jetski, anything!) than doing just about anything else I can think of!
