We all see those little acronyms in emails, message boards and instant messages ... here is a list of common ones and their meaning ...

Wedding Related Ones:

BM - Brides Maid or Best Man
BP - Bridal Party
DH - Dear Husband
FH - Future Husband
FW - Future Wife
GM - Groomsmen
JP or JOP - Justice of the Peace
RD - Rehearsal Dinner
BIL - Brother In Law
FIL - Father In Law
FOB - Father of Bride
FOG - Father of Groom
MIL - Mother In Law
MOH - Maid/Matron of Honor
MOB - Mother of Bride
MOG - Mother of Groom
SIL - Sister In Law
STD - Save The Date(s) (I am sure we can all agree this one looks bad ... which is why it is not used that often)
FBIL - Future Brother In Law
FFIL - Future Father In Law
FSIL - Future Sister In Law

Miscellaneous Ones:

AF - Aunt Flo (having your period)
BF - Best Friend or Boyfriend (depending on the context)
BBF - Best friend forever
BRB - Be right back (used in chat or IM)
BBL - Be back later (used in chat or IM)
DC - Dear Child
DD - Dear Daughter or Designated Driver (depending on context)
DS - Dear Son
FAQ - Frequently asked question
GL - Good Luck
IE - Internet Explorer
IM - Instant Messenger
ITA - I totally agree
NM - Never-mind
OP - Original Post or Original Poster
OT - Off Topic
OTC - Over the counter (as in medication)
OIC - Oh, I see
PM - Private Message
PP - Previous Post(s)
SO - Significant Other
TY - Thank you
YW - You're Welcome
AIM - AOL's Instant Messenger
CYE - Check your email
ETA - Edited To Add
ETR - Edited To Remove
FBF - Former Best Friend

YMMV - Your mileage may vary (usually meaning - you might have a different view/opinion)
ROTFL - Rolling On The Floor Laughing
LMK - Let me know
QFE - Quoted For Emphasis
FTW - For The Win

I'm sure most ppl (hey there is one too <-- People) know this one, but I will post it anyway ... FYI - For Your Information and ATM - At The Moment (or automatic teller machine ;)) and ETA - Estimated Time of Arrival (usually referring to how long something will take)

I learned a new one today from another board I'm on ...

ACS - Ancient Chinese Secret ... usually used as a joke when you either don't know the real answer to something, or when something is confidential and/or you don't really want to talk about it ;)
