Question: I'm planning a wedding with the ceremony and reception at the same venue. We will have our guests seated at the tables for ceremony which eliminates extra chair rentals or the confusion of moving chairs from the ceremony area to the reception tables.

So...my question is: Is there a name for this type of affair or can someone help me think of one.

Thanks
Belle

I had my ceremony and reception at the same venue too. I simply put "reception to follow" on the invitations.

Thank you ... but I was really hoping to find a "name type". Like traditional or modern...I for the life of me can't think of what that style of wedding/reception might be called.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

It is not uncommon to have the ceremony and reception in the same location, but in the same room may be. I don't know that there is a name for this; I would just spread the word about what to expect casually through family and friends.

I would probably try to have something for the guests to do while the set up from one to the other is going on.

All the best :)

There shouldn't be any confusion...we are having hors d'oeuvres served to each table directly after the bridal party leaves with entertainment while waiting for them to be announced back in for the reception.

I was just hoping that someone else had done the same thing and had a complimentary name for this type/style of wedding.

I pulled this off for my own daughter 14 years ago and it was beautifully orchestrated.

Thanks for the input!
