I have an idea for Christmas!

I know that we have a little bit of time for Christmas but I think it would be a good idea for us to do Secret Santa's for Christmas. We can do it the same way as we do the post card exchange. We could even set up a money limit where we don't spend more than 10 dollars, etc..
We can send personal gifts, we could choose themed gifts, gag or funny gifts, etc... Let me know what you guys think!
If we decide to do it, we could plan on sending the gifts not much later than Dec. 1st bc of how long it takes some of the girl's to receive their's.

I am going to do another poll to decide on the budget and what kind of gifts. We all agree that you have to be a senior member to do it but those of you who are not still have some time. (I'm thinking in Nov. we should assign each other's partners seeing how hectic the Holidays are, and for us needing time to pick out and buy a gift, and the mailing process, etc...)

That's not fair!
One way or another I'll try to make sure each and everyone of us get gifts on the list! Maybe if we start sending out the addresses as early as Oct. to Nov. we'll have plenty of time before Christmas to make sure everyone gets something. :)

I would like to be a part of it but only if it's an ornament exchange. I worry about doing this because the last one, two members did not recieve ANYTHING. I was a little peeved about that...but I wasn't in that exchange so I couldn't say anything. I agree w/ u about being upset when people do not receive their packages. We should ban or @least make a note of whomever that is not sending their packages out on time or not @ all for future exchanges.

I like the idea of the ornament exchange too. But I know I for one am rather picky about the ornaments I put on my tree :bbredface: I also don't know where I'd get one that had anything to do with where I am from :bbconfused: and I honestly wouldn't want to have to go all over the place looking KWIM :worm:

I know what you mean. I will have Gwen go through the list w/ me(if she doesn't mind) and make sure each and everyone on the list shouldn't be a prob. bc of a past exchange. I don't see any probs so far, but we will do all we can to make sure no one will be left out and does not receive a gift!

Perhaps any ornament would do - no theme necessary. When I posted the idea about an ornament exchange I was thinking I would look for (or make) a wedding or couple related ornament - of course now someone knows what they are getting from at least one secret Santa LOL

I think we could find out who is sending it when we get it. But then not tell everyone until everybody has received their packages. That way the recipent can let everyone know that they got something so the sender isn't left wondering if it has got there yet.

I thought i would post a message and bring this thread back to the top.

I was thinking about the exchange yesterday when i was at Micheals looking at their ornaments. When do we want to confirm everyone who is in and set the deadline for everything? With the weeks flying by and the possiblity of having to send packages across boarders and a bit of a distance i was thinking we might want to do it soonish so everyone can get their ornaments before Christmas.
