We got a really great deal on our photography.
$1000.00 for 4 hours all the proofs on CD, non having watermarks, 200 printed proofs in an album. It worked out that we got 3 photographers because the owners wedding that she was going to shoot was cancelled. Then they brought on an intern so they came as well. Then they 'accidently' printed 100 extra proofs for no charge.

Amber's friend is a photographer and she is doing it for nothing. She also did Amber's engagement photos, and they turned out wonderfully. We really lucked out on that one! :D

Right now we are paying $600 for 3 hours of time and 150 proofs. I am considering adding another hour on to that. Not sure though. That would still only raise the price to about $700. Then of course whatever pictures we will decide to get, but even then, I figure we will stay under $1000. Or at least I hope so!! LOL

We're not paying anything for photography. There are plenty of people that are willing to take pics for us for nothing. :D

Ours will be about $600, but that does not include the prints. We will have copyright rights to our photos so we can print them any time we want. Our photographer is a friend of mine whom is not a photographer by trade. She does it as a hobby mostly. That covers the whole ceremony and reception. It even includes time before the ceremony.

We paid around $2100 for ours. It included full day coverage from getting ready through the reception, an album of approximately 150 5x7's, 5- 8x 10's, 1- 11x14, and 1- 16x20. Plus I got to keep all of the proofs, I got a picture cd slide show, all of the pictures on cd, and a two disc dvd of the wedding that was video recorded.

We paid 900.00 for ours and I got 6 hours of time, over 200 4x6's in an embossed album, over 200 CD pictures on disk and 24 engagement pics beforehand with all the proofs.

This is something that i wasnt sure it was worth spending money on as i think i will probably prefer the ones that friends and family will take as they will b more informal - but then i sat and thought about and though 'OMG what if they all turn out **** and i end up with no pics?' So i have given in and we booked one while we went to Innsbruk in June. we are paying EUR 400 to have pictures taken beforehand, during cermony, outside the venue and then we are going with the photographer to an old castle to have some done of just us 2. Any prints we have are then going to be on top of this. They have said that we should be able to have prints to come back with and we will then place them in an album to take to our reception in the UK to show everyone, and they will also be placed online. xxx

We paid $5000 for both photography and videography. We got all day, full coverage, no limit on the number of photographs taken. We will own the digital file of our photographs, so we'll be able to get more prints from the original file if we want. We will own all of our proofs. We get a 30 page album with 40 pics, 2 parent albums with 20 pics each. The album is custom leather cover, and gets sepia images and hand tinted images included if we wanted it. We also get a printer 16X20 portrait, three 8X10's in folders, bridal party photo gifts, and 75 thank you cards with photos. And, our photos will be on a webpage for others to view and print pics if they want to.
For the video,we got ceremony and reception coverage, edited and an early years montage added with music to the beginning. We also get 3 DVD copies of the edited video.

We paid about $2000 for all day (13 hours of coverage) with 2 photogs, we got all the pics taken on CDs and we own the rights to the pics, a coffee table book, a DVD photo montage (it's like a slide show set to music which plays on the TV and he did a fabulous job with that) and any additional prints at cost (meaning he doesn't make additional profit). He ended up taking over 1500 pics that day as well.

I voted '$1000-$2500' because I think that is about average for a professional experienced photographer. Now what you get for that will vary by location and the experience of the photographer.
Now me personally, I paid $100 for my wedding pictures. I was a photographer myself at the time and I paid my assistant to shoot the wedding with my camera and I paid for the film and processing and put the album together myself. We just wanted mostly journalistic shots and that is what we got. We could have gotten better pictures, but I didn't want to pay what a good photographer would cost :bbmrgreen: I don't really much like pictures of me anyway ;)
