I was just cleaning out my makeup case. I got a bunch of new stuff to replace what was getting old. I was just wondering what products out there everyone uses. (That way should I replace again, I have other options and opinions to look at.) Besides I love playing with my makeup and trying out different looks. So, this will give me something to do when I get bored. I can try out the Onewed girls make up looks.
So, every day I start with :
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer ( a great way to minimize pours, fill in fine lines, and mattify the skin before you start to apply your make up. Plus it is loaded with vitamins!)
NARS oil free foundation (in Deauville)
Shiseido Corrective Concealer (light- it actually comes with a light and darker shade so that you can blend it to match your skin and the depth of ceverage. It also has a translucent powder to set the area.)
Benefit Eye Bright (It is a pink pearl colored pencil that you dab intot he corners of your eys and along the brow bone, then blend up and out. It really makes you look awake.)
Clinique Blushing Blush (cupid) (nothing special I just like the color on me.) or Chanel Contraste Powder Blush (Desert Plum)
Benefit Bad Girl Lash Mascara (black)
Smashbox Brow Tech (taupe - great because you can build color and it comes with a brow wax to hold it all in place)
Clinique Blended Face Powder (Transparency 3)
Now depending on the mood I switch up the eyes and lips
For every day I go one of two ways:
1. Smashbox Single Eye Shadow (Flatscreen, sept all over the eye lid up the crease)
Sonia Enhance Eye Color (Blossom - the inner corner of the eye lid blended up and out)
2. Clinique Color Duo (Be Mine - the pink shade dusted over the entire eye lid up to the brow bone, the khaki shade in the eye crease and outter corner)
Lorac Eye Shadow Single (Joy - dotted right in the center of the eye lid for color pop)
Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes (Egyptian - line the upper and lower lids along the lash line then blend)
For the lips on both of these:
1. Mac Creamstick Lipliner (pink treat)
Mac Frost Lipstick (Bombshell)
2.Chanal Glossimer Lip gloss (Petunia)
3. Mac See Through Lip Color (Not so shy)
For more drama:
1. Lorac Eye Shadow Single (Gold, dusted over the entire lid up to the brow done, a little of this goes a long long way)
Revlon Wet/Dry Shadow Quad (ivory shade on the brow bone)
Sephora Long Lasting Liquid Eye Liner (black, thinny over the top and bottom eye lid along the last line)
2. Clinique Quickliner for Eyes (very black - heavy line on the top and bottom lash lines then blended up and out for a smokey effect)
Tigi Eye Shadow Single (Java- on the eye lid up tot he crease then blended upwards slightly)
Revlon Wet/Dry Shadow Quad (metallic shade over the the Tigi shadow for sparkle)
For the lips both of these:
1.Revlon MoistureStay Lip Liner (Raisin)
Clinique Different Lipstick (Raspberry Glace)
Chanel Glossimer Lipgloss (Galaxy)
2. Christian Dior Plastic Shine (Violet Memory - this is really thick and doesn't last so you are reapplying and blotting all night)

My favorite make-up for all time, is Bare Minerals. They have everything from foundation to eyeliner, and it's so light weight that I don't feel like I'm wearing it at all. That's important to me, as I can't stand to wear make-up most of the time. It's also good because it has never caused any skin problems at all. It can be ordered online on QVC, or through Sephora's. I have a Sephora store in a mall about 10 mins from me, so I get it from there.

I am going to have to try the primer stuff, it sounds really good. I have never heard of Smashbox though, we don't have that here. Do you have to get it in a color that matches your skin?

It is clear. It is a silicon based gel that you smear on like a liquid foundation but as soon st it hits your skin it feels like a powder. They have the regular one that I use and one with a few added ingredients to prevent aging and sunscreen. Then there is a third one that I have never tired that is like a concealer. It comes in the standard green, yellow, and purple for your various needs. I have VERY sensative skin and so far it hasn't cause me any problems at all.
The one I use:

Im using Mary Kay. Ive used it on and off for years, but when I decided to become a beauty consultant and had all these samples to try, I really fell in love. Thank goodness I get a discount because I threw out ALL of my old stuff and replace it with the products I liked.

I use Neutrogena Skin Clearing oil-free compact foundation. For eyeliner, I usually use Clinique's New Black but right now I'm using Mary Kay in Steely. I use that for bottom and top lids then line the top lids with a dark purple (I don't remember the exact color) in Mary Kay. I don't use it a whole lot anymore but I love Clinique's Base Touch for eyes in Icy Violet and Clinique's shadow in Sugarberry (its a light purple). For blush, right now I'm using Mary Kay Sunny Spice. I have many more make up products, I just don't use half of them anymore. I usually just use foundation, eyeliner, shadow, and blush. Before I apply makeup, I use Mary Kay Acne Treatment Gel. I love Clinique but its so expensive, so I switch it up with Mary Kay.
I love the purple eye make up, because my eyes are like a hazelish green so it brings them out!

Let's see: I have dark auburn hair, green eyes and I'm pretty fair complected with a few freckles over my nose.
I have dry skin most of the time (I prefer an oil-based makeup) so I mix Clarins Daily Moisturizer in with my el-cheapo Max Factor Lasting Performance foundation and a little loose powder over that. I like the lighter coverage of the moisturizer/foundation mix, mostly because I have fair skin and freckles and trying to cover up all those spots is an easy way to look overdone.
Pretty much everything else I use is also from the cheap stuff with 3 exceptions: Definicils Mascara by Lancome in black (no smudge, no smear, absolutely PERFECT), Lancome lipstick in Metalique and Amanda Sucree (bronzy brown and peachy copper) and Lancome Juicy Tubes lipgloss (smells heavenly and looks great).
I rarely use eyeliner unless it's evening (dark headed), go VERY easy on a light brown lipliner and I am a firm believer in a good bronzing powder. You can use it as a natural looking blush and as an all-over powder to look a little sun-kissed.
A tip for tired or older looking eyes: Someone once told me if you want to take 5-10 years off your age, all you need is a little firming eye gel and some light pink or white eyeshadow in the inside corner of your eyelid. Works like a charm.

I typically don't wear makeup, just because I usually do not have time to put it on in the a.m.
But...when I do have time, I wear Cover Girl foundation, and loose powder, I don't wear blush, beacuse most of the time I have rosy cheek syndrome anyway. I like to wear either brown or green eyeshadow becuae my eyes are hazel, and it brings them out more.
Anyway, that's why I'm getting my makeup done for the wedding. :bblol:

I don't wear makeup that often, but when I do I've been using mineral makeup foundation, eye shadow, and blush. (I've recently found that eBay has some great deals!) Then I use regular eye liner and mascara, lip liner and gloss ... usually something like Maybelline or Cover Girl.

Lacey, would this be good for around the eyes. Honestly in the last few months mine has gotten horrible. I hate to even smile they look so bad. i have so many fine lines around my eyes that when i smile i look puffy and the undereye coverage only seems to highlight it more.
anyone else know of anything to use for this problem? Jerry told me it is because since we got married I am happier and smile more often. :bbeek: But I am really self consious about it now.

The more makeup that you put on top of fine lines, the more noticable they will be. (It is just one of God's cruel little jokes.) First of all stay away from ANY type of eye makeup that has any type of glitter, sheen, or metallic color to it. That makes it 100 times worse. Stick to mattes.
If the lines are really fine, the primer should help. By really fine, I mean they are kind of just like large pores. If they are deeper or bigger than that, I don't know. When I use it, it fills in the larger pores and very fine lines I have always had around my mouth. I would check out your local makeup store and get a sample. But, it won't prevent more lines from forming or the ones you have from getting worse.
If you are starting to get really fine lines, you might want to just bite the bullet and invest in a really good eye cream to stop it from getting worse and to help what you already have. I use this and am very happy with it. It was given to me because of the dark circles I had. (I barely have to wear under concealer now) and it also helps with fine lines.

My mom has more of a problem with fine lines than I do. She uses this and it really helps.

Thanks girl. I will check into them and give them a try. I have been thinking about going to one of the local makeup places and getting a makeover and seeing what they have to offer. I haven't had one done in years since getting older. and yes, i have noticed now that the concealer I use for the dark circles under my eyes only make the wrinkles more noticeable.

OMG! The Smashbox primer is fabulous! I tried it today, I put on my makeup at about noon, had a 4 pm meeting, went to the gym and worked out hard for an hour and my makeup still looks awesome! This stuff works!
