How often do you workout or get any sort of physical excercise? What do like to do?

I don't have much time to exercise. I do walk a lot, up and down hills and stairs, around this campus.

I love working out. I go 5-7 days per week and mix things up, I run most often for cardio, but also like the nordic track, stair master and rowing machine. I lift weights a lot after cardio, I like the fitness ball. I also do yoga or kick boxing sometimes. DH and I were also in a tennis league this summer and in the winter I like cross country skiing. I also enjoy biking and kayaking, but we didn't have much time to go do that this year.

I work outside of my house constantly mowing, planting, weeding and the farming side of it too...we ride horses, fourwheelers go hiking and we go skiing in the wintertime when we can. I keep pretty fit just trying to keep up with my husband LOL!

I used to go 6 days a week religiously. Then I got dissappointed because after doing this for a while, I wasn't seeing any results, so I quit. I probably shouldn't have but I was so darn p-d off!
I love working out though. I do cardio a lot and sometimes I'll do light lifting.
I do other things though, like instead of looking for the closest parking space, I'll park far away. I also walk to get the mail instead of driving, things like this.
I will eventually get back to working out again but I'll probably do it about 3 days a week

I'm on my feet walking all day. I get up at 5. I usually don't get home until late. Between the months of October and March I leave for work when it is dark and I don't get home until after sunset. It is ridiculous. I would love to get to the gym, but for that to happen often, we need to add about 5 more hours into my day.

If you go back, in order to get results you have to constantly raise the level of what you are doing, increasing weight and making the cardio more intense so your heart rate stays high. Your body will get used to the levels so you are no longer challenging it.
I do the parking space thing, too. :)

I love to walk, although I haven't had much time in the last week. And now with it getting darker earlier, I just don't get the chance. I also get up for work at 5 am, don't get home until 630. By the time I change and grab something to eat, it's too late. We are looking for a treadmill, which would be great, but don't have much money to spend on one. I also want to get some light weights to start working out more at home.

... I hate to sweat. lol
HAHA :bblol: Me too ;)
I am trying to get back in shape though, right now I am working out about 1-2 days per week ... but I do walk my dogs every day, so that is about a 30 min walk, that should count for something right?! ;)
Early this year I had set a goal to loose 30 lbs by November, now I don't think that is gonna happen :( I have a hard time getting motivated. I want to get to the point where I work out at least 4 days a week on top on the daily walks with the 'kids' and do that all the time and make it a part of my life.

Walking your dogs counts big time! Try to walk as quickly as they can go (in between potty breaks) to keep your heart rate up though.
Also you could try to find a way to track progress other than the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat, so your results aren't always represented there. You could try percent body fat measurements, clothing sizes or something along those lines. Best wishes!

Before the wedding, we were going 3 days a week to my BiL's gym, (because it's free!) Sunday's - Wednesdays for an hour or so. We haven't gone since we got back from the honeymoon becuase DH got a chest cold, and hasn't been breathing well enough to work out. But, as soon as he's feeling better, we'll be heading back again. It was working, though, I lost about 3 pounds in 2 weeks. But the best, was that I lost about a half inch around my waist. That's the best!!

Yeah I try to walk fast and jog a little, Enzo loves to run but I am not in that good of shape :p I absolutely hate the scale so I try not to get on it ... I even protest at the Dr's office ... I tell them, "Can you just put down fat" LOL ;)
I know I have lost a little weight because my clothes are getting big on me. But I can't get into the smaller size yet :bbconfused: But I'm going to keep working at it.

Lol...well I dont work out! I never have!!! lol. I like to walk but since we've been so busy we haven't had any chance to do that. Right now our excercise is climbing in and out of machinery, running all over the farm, and trying to keep up! lol

Shawna and Heather, are you two sisters? You look so similar to me and I am always getting you confused.

Does it count as working out cleaning house? chasing two young children? and going for walks in the afternoon? i admit, i hate working out. The closest I come is walking the dog on leisurely stroll close to sundown when it is not so hot outside. I just don't have the energy any more.

I get excercise about 3-4 days a week. Not necessarily by going to the gym, but in some form I get the workout!

I used to work out all the time. Before I had my dughter and up utnil I was 8 months pregnant I did arobics. I did kick boxing for a while one night a week. But now finding the time is crazy. I work all day and then I am the one who has to pick the kids up from school or day care. And that is about 5:30. Then they have to eat and home work and before I know it it is time to put them to bed. I dont even have the engery to clean house after all this so forget about working out. I do wish I had time to go to an arobics class. I love doing. But with my hip to lately I dont htin kit is the best idea for me. But if you count running around the bank all day and then doing every thign I have to for the kids then yeah I get some. And we live in a 2 floor apartment which starts onthe second floor. So there is alot of stair climbing every day.

I have great plans and ideas to work out and get in shape.... But.... It never actually pans out for me. I just don't have the time or energy it seems. I have signed up for Yoga this fall.... So maybe that will inspire me.

I hate exercise - though we go swimming once a week, late int he evening when there are no kids in the pool - its the only time that Jamie can fit it in 'cos of work! We do walk quite a bit tho, admittedly its usually to the pub! lol x

Well I think maybe that's a part of the problem. When I first started working out I was determined to lose weight, so when I started, I started very intense workouts. Basically starting out pushing my limits. Maybe because I started out intense, I couldn't really go anymore intense therefore I was kind of at a stale mate? Hmmm maybe I shouldn't start out intense... work my way there and then see what happens, if there is any difference...

It doesn't really matter where you start, provided you don't injure yourself doing it. What happens is you achieved that "intense" level and it thus became easy and your body isn't doing nearly the work to complete it, at that point you need to raise your levels again (increase the weight you are lifting or raise the level on the stairmaster from 3 to 5 for example) so your workout remains a challenge. You should always feel like it's as intense as when you started.

My husband has decided that he is out of shape. He blames business travel, (I agree.) So he wants to set up a meeting out our club n the athletic department with a personal trainer. If we are going to pay for that, I might as well tag along. I told him I would set something up for the first week in September.

If you take out riding horses and substitute it with chasing cows, this is pretty much what I do!!! :D :bblol:
