What did/are you doing for a gift for you FH on your wedding day? I'm stuck. I want to get him something he wants and likes. The two things he wants right now is a new protable radio (which he uses while fire fighting) and a cover for the back of his new pick-up truck. FH's birthday is also 4 days after the weddings, so I don't mind getting him one of those for then. But I kinda want to get him something sweet. IDK. What are all you ladies doing?

I was hoping to get Mark a guitar. Since he is a musician it would have been perfect and mean alot to him. Unfortunetly i didn't have the money to get it for him. (Hopefully Christmas) We talked about it and we decided when we can we will get eachother a dog for our be-lated gift to eachother.

I got Sean a pocket watch. I don't think he has looked at it since he opened it.

if i can swing it, i'm gonna try and have our transportation from the reception be a corvette instead of a traditional limo, etc. he's always wanted one so i though it'd be a nice way to have him get what he wanted..for a day at least (they're expensive to rent)

Before you do that, make sure your dress will actually fit in the car. I don't know how full it is but those Corvette's won't hold much!

I got Joel's ring engraved with "My Love, My Life, My Lobster" as a suprise, I got him tickets to the Detroit Lions vs. Atlanta Falcons game, and built him a monkey at Build-a-Bear, because he loves monkeys, and dressed it in a Lion's uniform, which is where I will place the tickets and added a personalized message in the monkey, so that when he presses it he will hear my voice saying "I love you, Lobster". We refer to each other as each other's lobsters, due to an episode of friends where Pheobe referred to Ross and Racheal as each other's lobsters, because lobster's mate for life. It is corny I know, but meaningful to us all the same. I think that he is going to love it!!!

I guess if it's after the reception, you could change into something else.

For KEvin I want to get him something sentimental but at the same time something that would be fun for him. I think I'm going to get him a watch (which he needs BADLY!!!) and one of the gift certificates for 1 free days rental of an expensive car such as a hummer or a lambrogini (can't spell it guys sorry). He loves cars and this is something that he could have his day with!

Hmm, that's an idea. Steve has been eyeing up watches lately. He wants a nice watch that can be worn with dressy clothes but would still look ok with casual clothes. He has been looking for a really inexpensive one, but hasn't found one he likes. So I could get him one that's a little bit more expensive then what he was looking at. I just need to find a way to get him to tell/show me what he likes. That's the hard part. And of course with my lusk, he'll buy one before the wedding...lol.

That is why I got Sean the pocket watch. I figure it is something he will always have to remember the day we got married. He won't use it every day but it has some sentiment behind it. I engraved it, "On our wedding day 5-27-06." For his birthday, I got him an every day wrist watch. He dresses every day for work so I didn't have to worry about something inbetween dressy and causual. Check out Citizen's brand watches. They have a contemporary style and aren't terribly expensive for a "name brand" watch.

That is why we had to rent the limo. To be honest, I was fine taking our car. It is a very spacious. but, my dress alone without me in it with all the fixings barely fit in the back seat let alone the front. So we had to get the limo just so I could fit.

Thanks Lacey. I'll have to check them out. I don't want to get him anything too expensive. I'm using his credit card to buy it anyway...lol. Well, it will be our anyway since he plans on adding my name to them after the wedding. But I think I know what I want to get him for his birthday and that might be a little more expensive.

Eric got a Gist buckle, engraved with his 2005 World Title and event. He wears it whenever we go out.

I got Joe a guitar for his wedding present. Have you tried Musiciansfriend.com? They have great prices for brand name guitars.

Matthew and I weren't into the idea of spending MORE money on a gift we probably would spend TOO MUCH on! lol. So we wrote each other letters to read the night before the wedding and I made him a special box which I called his wedding day survival kit. In it there were things like: A little sewing kit incase some one lsot a button, some diareha meds (lol, they didn't get used!), tissues, lip chap, breath freshener, and some other gag gifts too! Matthew said it was far better then anything I could have bought in the store and with the letter (which made him cry and his to me made me bawl! We both still have them!) he said it was the best gift money CAN'T buy, because it was my way and his way of saying I LOVE YOU without being there to do it! The letters are so beautiful and heartfelt! Nikki, even if you buy something for each other I recommend writing such a letter, they are straight from the heart and such a treasure to behold a year after the wedding!! ;)

PS. If you're looking for nice, fairly inexpensive watches...check out Fossil watches! We bought them for our GMs and they were about $80 and so nice! If you're a member at a Costco, they usually carry watches (in Canada I know for sure!lol) and they are a very good price!! :D

I got Pat a pocketwatch from Things Remembered with our initials and wedding date engraved in it. It has a place for our wedding picture as well.
