I was looking at strollers on Craigslist to see if there was anything, and there were a lot of double strollers. But I have no idea how to go about choosing one. Do most of them work with car seats? Would I need to also research the coordinating car seat? Are there any kinds that are better than others?

It's probably gonna be awhile before we pick one out.. but I wanna start getting some ideas on the big stuff while it's still kinda early. And who knows.. maybe I'll run into a really good deal on Craigslist.

i'd say the short answer is yes... if your looking at a snap n go, jogger, or travel system you want to make sure either it fits your car seats or you buy to fit the stroller

I bought the Britax B-Ready from Amazon for a pretty good price. At least that's what I thought until I opened the box and realized the stroller only came with one seat. My twins didn't like their Graco infant carriers as infants so the Snap n' Go was never an option.

But look into the Britax B-Ready. It's one of the few strollers that accommodate newborns in their regular seats - they recline all the way back. It also fits two infant carriers. Had I done my homework a little better in the beginning, I wouldn't have wasted my money with our clunky Leebruss push buggy. This is the stroller for us.

It's lightweight, there are like 14 stroller configurations and the stroller folds with both seats on. I bought the 2nd seat at Babies R Us for under $70. My twins prefer to sit straight up and look around and the infant seats recline too much but having the infant seats has been very handy for flying and traveling. I also had to purchase 2 infant seat attachments but I got them online pretty cheap.

Most double strollers accommodate the Chicco and Graco infant carriers.

This is our Leebruss which has now been discontinued. I love this buggy so much because I am in love with the look but it is 40 lbs heavy! And you have to take each seat out in order to fold it. Not only that, it doesn't fit in the back of my Mini.

This is the Britax B-Ready. I wish I'd known about this from the beginning. It would've save me a lot of time and money. We do the configuration of the 3rd row down, 2nd stroller. When the trips arrive I'll use the infant seat on the bottom and baby seat on top.

You'll want to make sure the car seats are compatible with the strollers. I personally like snap n go strollers for young babies but if you just want to get one stroller that you can use for everything then it might be worth looking for a tandem stroller that you can use with and without car seats. Some doubles don't hold 2 car seats so that's another thing to watch for. I personally like having a small double umbrella stroller for stores because its much easier to maneuver around than a big long tandem or a wide jogging stroller. Jogging strollers are nice for walks and zoos and stuff but they are a pain to get in and out of the car (heavy and bulky), take up a ton of room in the car, and are so wide that it is difficult shopping with them.

Good luck, I hope you find a good deal!
