Okay so I need help getting a rough idea of what I am going to be spending. Of course I will be doing some online and yellow page price quoting, but I was wonderingif you brides would be able to share with me the costs of your wedding stuff so I can get an idea of what I'm looking at here.
Most importantly -reception halls indoor/outdoor, all the stuff that goes in there, photographer, music, cake, tux, limo...and I guess everything!
Thanks chicas!

This is something that really varies from region to region -- not just state to state but within an individual state as well (I'm in Dayton, Ohio and prices are very different in Cincinnati which is barely an hour away).
The best way to find this out is locally, Bridal Shows, people you know who recently or are in the process of planning a wedding, as well as directly contacting vendors for pricing information (as wel as what is included in the price).

It really depends on where you are located. My wedding could easily be double or triple the price I am payign now if it were in a larger city but half the price if it were in a more rural area. Just start shopping around. Good luck!

My Reception cost is based on guests. Its roughly $100.00 per guest, which includes appatizers when everyone arrives, 4 course dinner, dessert, open bar, continuious wine during dinner, sparkling wine for toasting, DJ, decorations, table linens, chair covers. If you can find a place that will do alot of the major things for you try and do it. It has taken alot of stress out of everything for me. The event organizer at the reception location will call us when we need to come in and choose the food, and linen colours. When you are looking, make sure to ask about Cake cutting fees. Some places have an extremely high price for it and are somewhat sneaky about putting it into the contract.
Good Luck!

When I got married I told my mom I wanted a soap opera wedding.
The cheapest thing was the photographer-$500
Friend from photography school
dress-$3,000 Second cheapest.
It really depends what you want are you going to be like me and pick all designers out of mags to drive your parents nuts? Have over 300 guests, seated dinner, girls with trays all night, coffee machine brought in around 11pm?
First I would say look through a bunch of mags find the style your going for and set a budget before you start looking at halls. Also you can cut costs with the limo. I did a wedding last weekend and the limo brought the girls to the church at 2pm ceremony was at 3:30pm, we didn't leave the church untill after 5pm. So they paid him 3 hours to sit in the parking lot, and it was a streth HUMMER too. I thought that was a waste of $.

I am planning my second wedding and I plan to make it as cheap for us as possible but yet even more fun then you can imagine. I am havig it outside at my sisters house ( there goes the cost for the site) and the reception is gonna be at the same place and we are having a big party cookout with people bringing food ( there goes the cost of the reception hall and the price of food was just cut in half ) One of my best friends is paying for the pictures for me as a wedding gift ( there goes the cost for that ) the most expensive thing for me will be my dress and the one i am looking at is around $500. Cutting all these cost is giving me more freedom to splurge on other thing like decorations and the cake. And my brother in law is going to do the music for me ( there goes the cost for a DJ or a band ) And he and my sister got us our room for the wedding night as their gift to us ( there goes yet another cost to cross off our list ) We are makign our own invataions ( alot cheaper ). I am planning on keeping a running tally on what I actually pay on this wedding so when some one asks i can actually tell them how i did it for so little money. And still had the best wedding day ever.
