I know some of you have baby's first birthdays coming up soon. Have you put any thought into what you are getting them for their first birthday presents?

What I WANT to get my girls is this:

But at $549, that's not gonna happen. Even if I had gotten it at the beginning of the season when Toys R Us had deals on them, it would still be out of our price range. I know its a little advanced for their age, but I would hang baby swings until they were old enough to hang on. SIL has one and the girls love it.

So I really don't know what to get them! I thought I could get them their own baby dolls since they don't have any dolls yet?

Whoops, I guess this is the one I wanted...the cheapest I can find it is $379. Better, but still no way we can afford that now. :( I have been watching Craigslist but theres never anything good in our area.

Great minds think alike! I was totally thinking outdoor playset for Finn. Here's a cute one, $117 on Amazon, without swings, though.

I might ask MIL to get something like Jessica posted above...I can't decide though. By the time they will have the ability to climb up the stairs...it'll be cold here and I don't know if I really want something like that hogging up room in my small living room.

I ended up getting them each dollies and a walk along stroller and I will probably get a few other little things. I want to go crazy and get them all kinds of things but DH already thinks I've spent too much.

We had all kinds of thoughts on what to get Paisley for her first birthday, but then we were blessed with so many gifts from family and friends that we put money away into her savings account with the rest of her bday money. Not very exciting, but she didn't miss an extra gift!

We got this kitchen for Hannah:

She LOVES it! She opens and closes all the doors, and hides all kinds of toys in there. Eventually we can play pretend with it, but right now she is all about putting things inside other things...When people asked what to get Hannah we just let them know we were getting her a kitchen and they could help us stock it with play food/utensils/etc...

That is so gorgeous!! I wanted to get Paisley something like that, but we just didn't have the room at the time. I'll have to remember this thread when Christmas rolls around.

I've got a few ideas.... I built Katie a wish list at Target that I need to update. I want to get her the slot machine potty: It makes me think of my grandma and it's got more features than most potty chairs. And it's only $20 at the outlet in Livermore!!!

A toddler swingset - not that I have anywhere to put it but she loves it when she gets to play on the one at my friend's:

I also totally want one of these for her - she'd love it! But she might outgrow it if I wait too much longer.

where did you find the dolls and walk along stroller? I like it!! We are thinking about getting those little cars that they ride in and we can push, or maybe they will push each other once they get bigger. Or on of the those fisher price dinosaur looking things that they can push or ride on.

I would love to get a swing set similar to the pics you posted, but it is a bit out of our price range and by the time they can really enjoy it, it will be cold out. I was thinking maybe something smaller with just a slide for a Christmas present and it would fit in our downstairs room that we don't use.

My husbands cousin already mentioned getting them one of those tables for their bday.

but their "present" they are getting before their bday is we are building a toy box/shelf so we don't have toys everywhere haha.

I love the kitchen set. I have been watching craigslist for a good kitchen set.

Justina, I love that little swing set! I'd honestly skip the Leap Frog Learning Table. That one sucks. LOL It plays like 2 seconds of music when they push the buttons and my girls are already bored with it. I'm glad I only paid 50 cents for it at a garage sale. haha They liked the Fisher Price one better but they are losing interest in both of them. They don't even use the learning mode to actually learn anything, they just like playing music for now so I'm not sure how much Learning they will be getting from these tables.

Sarah, I got the dolls from Amazon, they are called Manhattan Toy Stella dolls. I had originally bought Little Mommy dolls from walmart but saw rave reviews on the Stella dolls and I liked that they were soft, where as Little Mommy dolls have hard legs, head and arms. Not very snuggly if you ask me! And the stroller I found at walmart on clearance in the baby toy aisle.

That's awesome you are getting their toys organized!! I am so happy with our toy shelf!

Thank you for the feedback Danielle! I super appreciate it! I really just want something Katie can stand against and play with while standing. She also likes these:

To be honest, she likes to chew on it but she has fun playing with it too lol. So maybe I'll go that route instead. Have you tried these with the girls?

Hannah has that Zany Zoo set, and plays with it every once in a while - I think now that she is walking she doesn't have the patience to stand still and play with it, but I'm hoping that once the novelty of walking wears off she will play with it more - I think it's SO cute! Every time we have play dates all the other babies love it! Haha!

We don't have anything with that much stuff to do, but they do have a thing with the wooden beads and loopy things that they love playing with. I think they would like the Zany Zoo!
