Weekly Themes

I just thought that if you have an idea for a weekly theme, you could add it to the "sudjestion box"

My friend is doing her 10th Anavarsary party and she's doing calla lillies/lilly of the vally.

I think that a nightvlub theme would be fun, too.

What we have a little system for the weekly themes. They have been going on 4 week rotations. Near the 3rd week (which would be next week) I open up a thread and ask for suggestions. I take all of the suggestions and then we have a poll that runs for a week. The top 4 are the weekly themes for the next 4 weeks. Here is the run down of what we have done and what is up to come.

week 1-Fall Harvest
week 2-Beach
week 3-Hollywood
week 4-Halloween
week 5-Butterfly/garden
week6-Roses
week 7-winter
week 8-Cinderella

This can defiantely be the thread where we start making suggestions for the poll. There are a couple of ideas that were in the last poll that I would like to vote on again.

So far the poll suggestions are:

Calla Lilly/Lilly of the Valley
Night Club
New Year's
Valentines
African

10 themes are the max that can go on a poll. Now we have 11 suggestions.

Calla Lily/Lily of the Valley

We have to cut one of these out and as you know someone else may have other suggestions. I think we need to keep the Asian theme for sure in the poll because someone on this board is planning an Asian themed wedding. I also think 50's needs to stay on there because there is a 50's type themed wedding also being planned on this board.

I don't think we have any specific Valentine themes, but many people incorporate hearts in their weddings.

Okay. I just don't want to cut one that someone really wants and then have somone mad. If I cut one of those I will probably cut one that I thought of. Probably the African one. Maybe I should make the poll pretty soon or we might have a whole bunch of suggestions and then it will be very hard to cut.

I dunno, I wouldn't mind seeing African go...

But I do like Karen's idea of combining lavender floral with spring...

I wouldn't be offended with combining them, but I don't see the black and white going with night club... unless we all could pull it off! =)

I don't know if it would offend, but I see the black and white theme as being ultra formal. The night club theme is more of a fun theme, to me, but not as formal.

Lavender floral could go with spring. I guess we should wait it out for a little while and if we only have to get rid of one then there is really no need to combine.

I was the only one that thought of the African theme. I don't think anyone is big on it. I have seen 2 African themed weddings on Bridezilla and they were really beautiful. Many African American brides are incorporating just a touch of African custom into their weddings, like jumping the broom for instance. Here is an article on it if you are interested.
