Engagement Party

Hi!

I was just wondering if anyone can help.

My partner and I would like a backyard engagement party. Do we have to supply drinks or can we ask for people to BYO?

This is just my opinion:
I would normally say I wouldn't for that type of thing.... but if it is just a small celebration w/ close friends in your back yard I would say why not ask them to just bring just drinks w/ them and you will supply the rest!

I'm not sure what proper equittue is on this. But.... We've been invited to an engagement party next weekend and is BYOB. I personally don't think it an issue.

If it were a formal event, I would say no. If its like a backyard BBQ, I would say yes. Just make sure that you supply sodas and water.

Just for a little back yard affair, I would defiantely say do it BYOB. If you do decide to do something I would say a keg of beer would be just fine.

I personally agree with the other girls. A lot depends on what type of party you are planning on having, but if it is just a small get together with family and friends then have at the BYOB. Just make sure there is water or some other type of drinks for non-drinkers or in case someone forgets.

I don't know if it's been stated, but you can always do it pot-luck as well. We are doing our rehersal dinner that way as it won't be formal.

I would say if it is informal, I would say go ahead and let it be a BYOB....if it was formal, it would be a no way answer.
