DH has had some problems with foot pain recently. He says it is worse when he works out/runs. So he started looking at those barefoot running shoes.
He got some today; I am not sure exacly which ones he got, but I think they are something like these -

I think they are kind of ugly, but if they work for him then great.
Anyone have or know of anyone that has these and liked them?

People keep telling me I should get these - I have some bad foot problems. Let me know how he likes them! :)

Yea, I've heard great things about the barefoot shoes. I would never wear them, they seem so uncomfortable!

My toes curl just thinking about wearing them. I think my feet have claustrophobia issues
I have never heard of them, but my mom has really bad problems with her feet. I would be interested to know if they work too.

They seem uncomfortable to me too, but DH said they felt good when he tried them on. I guess we will see how they do.
He asked me if I would be ok to be seen with him wearing them; I almost said no :p J/K ;)

We were seriously just talking about these at work 2 nights ago - I laughed at them when I saw them b/c they look like MONKEY FEET! But let me know how they work, I have bad feet and if your hubby likes em' maybe I'll try em'.

Here they are on hubby's feet -

He wore them when we went out tonight. He says they take a minute to get on, but then you sort of forget about them; he says they are comfortable.
Of course they don't have much padding/support, so it is not an everyday wear type of shoe. He will mostly wear them to the gym.

I hope they work out for him. I can't imagine that your feet wouldn't sweat though. But of course, where I live, you can fry an egg on the sidewalk.

Yeah, I am sure they will; you don't wear socks with them. But you can wash them in the washing machine.

That is the most bizarre piece of footwear I've ever seen! :boggle:
Are they expensive? Let me know what your DH thinks of them! :)

They are funny looking ;)
So far he likes them, but he hasn't worn them to the gym yet.
The ones he got were $100; he said they had other style from around $80-$100.

I have seen these for running. There are runners who argue that running barefoot is much better than running with shoes that can alter and constrict your natural gait. I'd be curious to try these out for running, especially for running in sand where normal shoes feel so awful, but the sand can get a bit hot or have sharp bits for barefoot running.

i saw a guy at a resturant wearing these last year i think it was and he said they were great and he wore them all the time... i just worry because i have flat feet and im not sure if they would be more benifical to me or more hurtful than anything....
