I'd really like to be able to hang clothes out instead of using our dryer - especially the cloth diapers. We are renting though so not only can we not adhere anything to the side of the house or anything but we don't want to spend much money on it since it isn't our property.
Any ideas? We unfortunately don't have two trees next to each other or we'd do it that way.
I'd really like to use that free Florida sunshine.

We have a Rotary Washing Line in the ground. It goes into a holder below ground. So no need for trees or the building to attach it to. Then when it's not in use i collapse it down. Put a cover over it and lift it out. Sometimes i bring it in, lean it against the house or leave it in the ground.
When it's out of the ground you wouldn't know there was a washing line holder there. ;)
It's up at the moment because it's nice and sunny here at the moment. It's swinging around nicely. And has 120 foot of line in a small space.

You'll laugh, but when Finn's diapers needed some sun for stains, I'd just clip them onto the blinds in his nursery window-it got great light and they were really sturdy blinds!

We have a folding clothes rack that we got cheap from Walmart or Target. I dry all of our clothes on it actually. I just set it up in the office bedroom and then put it in the closet when I don't need it.

We have one of those too. I usually set mine up in front of our sliding glass door. So it gets the sunshine that comes in, and in the summer, the heat from the outside.

I have one of those folding wooden racks that I put out to try my cloth diapers. I would never be able to fit all our regular laundry on it. I'm still trying to decide what I what to hang the rest of the laundry. I have the same issues. Renting, don't have two trees to stretch between, etc.

We save space on ours when necessary by using clothes pins along the rods for boxers/underwear and hang hangers from the rods for some shirts. Underwear and other small things also hang from each "joint" where the bars meet.

We have a clothesline that goes in the ground but doesn't require cement or anything to make it permanent and in the winter we pull it out and store it in the shed since we get lots of snow here.
This is what we have:

Only that one in the pic is plastic and broke so we upgraded to a non-metal one. It's great!
You could also build one by getting 2 things of wood and building some sort of base to balance them and then string clothesline wire between the two.

This is like the Rotary Line we have. Ours has 120 foot of line in total. Loads of space for three or four loads of washing. Collapses down and takes hardly any space.
