I've never had Carpal Tunnel before... until now. I didn't know that many people get it during late pregnancy even if they haven't had it before. I guess it makes sense though because it is caused by swelling in your joint and pregnancy often causes swelling.

Anyways mine is happening just at night (which I suppose is better than all day!) but it is irritating because it wakes me up several times a night. Just recently it has started hurting (before it was just asleep/numb). Now when I wake up at night I can't even close my hand in a fist because it hurts so bad and is so swollen. The odd thing is it is only in my right hand, my left hand is totally fine. I suppose it is because I'm right handed.

It stinks though because I'm of course not allowed to take any anti inflammatory because of being pregnant. Last night I iced my hand/wrist a bit before bed and it did help a little. Thankfully I've read that it usually goes away soon after delivery.

Anyways just wanted to complain :) Anyone else have Carpal Tunnel? I think I remember Brandi talking about it before.

I've had it. From typing a research paper. It sucks. I HATE the numb feeling. It's an irritating feeling for me. My Mom had me wear a wrist brace and it seemed to help. Maybe you could try that? I am glad the icing seems to help a bit! I think in your case it's worth it. ;) And hopefully it goes away soon so you can hold a new little baby in your arms!

I am pretty sure I have it, at least a mild case. It only bothers me every now and then though, especially when I do a lot of bows in one sitting. My sister says her wrist bothers her when she does a lot of bows too.

Sometimes it bothers me during other simple tasks like brushing my hair or shaving my legs even. It doesn't seem to bother me when I type, but I guess I don't really do a lot of that.

Oh, I also can't do push up or tricep dips anymore cause it hurts my wrist. I am not all that upset by it though ;) But sometimes it affects me doing other things at the gym too.

I get the numb/tingling feeling and then a dull ache and sometimes stiffness. I also contribute mine to an old injury of my wrist. I have always had periodic pain there like when opening a tight jar or something.

Mine has never bothered me at night though; at least not enough to wake me.

I had read that there are sort of bandages/braces you can wear that are suppose to help. Oddly enough, DH had a wrist injury a while back and someone mentioned that a regular wrist sweatband would help. He told me to try that and it does seem to help; I think it is a bit of the pressure and heat. I wear it high on my wrist close to the palm of my hand when it hurts; sometime I have slept in it.

There are also exercises you have do to relieve the pressure on the nerve.

Hope you feel better Jacklynn!

I'm pretty sure I have it too based on all the trigger points in my arms/hands that the massage therapist seems to find. At work it has started bothering me more and I found this little bean bag type thing that is shaped to go at the bottom of my mouse to help and it really has helped (got it at the Dollarama so it wasn't expensive).

I hope once you have Norah it will go away. I've also heard good things about the arm braces like others have mentioned.
