Years ago before the wonders of international PayPal. I used to send US Dollars through the post for stuff bought on eBay.
One thing has always puzzled me. If you are Blind / Visually Impaired how do you tell the Dollars apart? They are all the same size and colour right? OK they have different people on but if you can't see clearly, how can you tell?
In the UK our Money is a different size and colour or a coin.
We have £1 and £2 Coins.
The smallest note is £5.00 and that's Green.
The £10 is Brown and slightly bigger.
The £20 is Purple and a bit bigger than the £10.
The £50 is bigger still and Bright Red. (Not that i see many of those lol)
Here's what i mean.

Yeah, it's all the same. And, actually, that's a common thing - is for jerks to not give blind people the right change because they can't tell the difference. So cruel!

That's shocking. :boggle: I understand some people have a folding system in their Purse / Wallet. For example $1 unfolded. $5 folded length ways. $10 folded in half etc. You would think with todays technology they could put Braille on the Note. I think some Countries do.

I wonder if credit/debit cards help that one out? It's so mean.

I wonder how blind people do it too; I am sure they have to have someone help them or else sleezy people would take advantage of them :snide:

I knew a blind guy once and I asked him how he knew what money to give people at the store. He pulled out his wallet, pulled out a bill and said, "this is a $20." And then he pulled out another bill and said, "this is a $1." He was right both times. I said, "how do you know?!" He said that he always asks them to put the biggest bills on the bottom and say them out loud as they are giving him is cash. Since he can't drive, he always has his friend take him to the store and his friend kinda watches out for him. If he's alone, he said he would sometimes go up to customer service afterwards and ask them to count his change back to him. Since they're usually some distance away from the cashier, they're not going to know if he/she short changed him or not.
He said he'd never had any problems because he usually had someone with him, and if he didn't, people behind him would always say something if he was being short changed. But yes, I can imagine that it would be a very hard problem for them to deal with. And how cruel some people are!
