Decided I'd start a Wedding Journal too! Well first off, let me introduce myself (and my future husband!)

Joshua and Charlette. We met at Anime Weekend Atlanta in 2009, and hit off a strange but great friendship. He lives in Alabama and I in South Carolina, but we manage, meeting up at various conventions around the GA/TN/AL area, but we will be moving to North Carolina after we are wed.

He proposed September 17th at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2010, and surprised me with the one ring I have always dreamed of.

Anyway, we will be married in Augusta GA on October 15th, 2011.

Current Percent complete: 43%

I have the venue, both for the Reception and Ceremony, a great act of compromising for us (he wanted inside, I wanted outside). I am currently working on decorations, and have my dress, and accessories, my bridesmaids (have 2 of them) have their dresses picked out and I will be heading to Columbia in the coming weeks to get together with the Maid of Honor to find her a dress.

I am making most of my items, being a Costume maker and prop designer its my one hobby (kind of depressed I couldnt make my own dress...)

The theme is very Irish/Elvish me being very proud of my Irish heritage.

I have made my bouquet myself (kind of wild and unique)
It has so many different flowers in it, all green blue or white. With a trail of white flowers and leave coming down the front.

I am going to be tossing a different bouquet (my mothers from her most recent marriage actually) and its got the white and blue, but seems more... calmed than mine. I wont poke anyone's eye out thats for sure!

My bridesmaids all have the same bouquet, wich I bought a premade one (same base as mine actually) and spiffed them up to more match me. And they will be keeping them.

Eh, didnt get a really good picture, but you can all get the general idea!
I made smaller flowers, boutonnieres or hairpieces for the bridesmaids (if the dudes dont want to wear a flower) out of my left overs, they were very subtle and I liked them (and hate wasting materials!)

The most recent thing I have made out of flowers is the small flower decor that will be going on the Sweetheart table where Josh and I will be sitting. It was a whim so to say after watching Doctor Who's Amy and Rorey wedding and saw they had flowers on their table (yeah what a dork!)

I'm still fighting with the rest of the table decorations, my creativity being wore thin, and the tulle I have is very..stiff and dissapointing.

Major things that need to get done

Officiant- no idea where to begin. Minister? Justice of the peace? I had one guy in mind, but he unfortunately isn't ordained =[ Vic Mignogna. He even said he would! If he was only ordained. Sight.

Invitations- Oh man, I have them designed, the paper cut just need to get them printed. I dont even know how many I need for my Fiance, i just need 20! (and thats including family lol)

Pay off venues- I have until Augusta to get them paid off, but are wanting to pay off a little every month so the bill wont be so big all at once. Nearly $1500 for both places, but alot of that is in safety deposits that I will get back. Thankfully my family is paying alot (my first marriage, and the first one in the family in a long time, well other that my mother but hers doesnt quite count since it was her 3rd)

Music- That is coming nicely actually, have an idea of how I want the stuff to go (dont want to pay for a DJ) and are really good at mixing music to match the mood of how the party should be going. Just need to get Fiance to tell me what songs he wants!

MoH Dress- GASP! 5 months away and I still haven't picked out a dress for her, =[ it's quite depressing!

That's all the important stuff I think, the other stuff I can do the week before if I have to!

Dress and accessories- I have my dress (is actually in the shop getting altered) plus all my accesories: Veil (long chapel veil with emerald green pencil lining) Shoes, jewelry (Elvish, will take pictures soon!), garter, headpiece, and sixpence! Need something borrowed still though

Party Members- I have them all picked out. 2 bridesmaids, Maid of Honor. I'm having my stuffed penguin (had since I was 2) be the ring bearer (FH and mines idea!) since we don't trust kids to do it. My uncle will be playing the wedding march for me. My mother will be walking me down the aisle, and a good family friend will be doing the father/daughter dance with me to fill in for my grandpa who passed away 3 years ago. As for the FH... he hasnt picked ANYONE --.--;;

I'd love to go to a convention, though. They always come back with the best stories! Nothing like meeting their future spouse or engagements, though. That's just awesome!

thanks! Worked hard on them. And yeah, it was a strange occurrence meeting him there! And you should go at least once, you dont have to enjoy anime to enjoy the atmosphere of a convention, and there are some crazy stories that come back :]

I went out today to look at stuff for my Bridesmaids and MoH gifts, and decided now would be a good time to get some bsakets, since its all 75% off for easter!

Well I got 3 baskets (2 for BM 1 for MoH) and got a few candles (Each girl got something diferent) and for one bridesmaid I got her her favorite smelling hand lotion and a picture album with her name on it (hope)

Not sure what t oadd t othe others, I want them each to match the girls personality really. One is 40+ so it will be wierd for me to get her something. While the others are 20 and 19 like me :]

But I think it is much better than some of the normal gifts. Im also making some personal pillows for them.

i think this is my fav costume that she ever made (not that i know who it is lol) i also almost forgot to say i LOVE LOVE LOVE your ring! lol thats awesome that you want to stick to your irish heritage... have you thought aobut doing a hand tying ceremony? (thou that may be more on the scotish lines im not sure... )

And no I havent thought about that, I kind of want the ceremony short because I am very shy (unless hidden in costumes) and dont want people starin at me for too long.

I checked the mail today and got the turtle and gohan figure that will go on the side of our cake! Its so adorable!!

I think mine is colored different though, gohan has a white shirt, or maybe i just think he did. ah well :D

Its adorable though and I LOVE it ^_^ cant wait to get the topper!

=[ Just realized I forgot to get my sixpence!! (something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a lucky sixpence in her shoe!)

Its not a normally accepted thing, but i need all the luck i can get!

Later this week I am going to get my dress out of the shop, and hope that it doesnt need anymore work done on it. My veil was folded up in a box and I draped it over my closet door so it would stay flat, its a cathedriel length one and is VERY long. But I love it none the less.

Walked for 10-15 minutes in my shoes, wanting them to get broken in before the big day (lolita shoes, made my japanese people, always need to be broken in or your feet will HURT)

Also started looking at more hairstyles, trying to find something that will suit me and wont be a problem with veil and elvish circlet i'm wearing.

Thank you thank you! I still have alot of stuff unplanned. Visiting the FH later this month to force him into giving me a list for Invites. Lazy bum!

I am planning for it to be very... us. I get distracted and bored easily so if it was a very formal traditional affair i might be off in my own little world the whole time :]
