I suppose a little about us first and how we met ;)

Ive lived most of my life in Newark De. I have a strong passion for horses and im currently going to school to be a equine dentist. I also love cars, ive built/raced/shown several cars that ive owned over the years. I also love art, unfortunatilly i dont really have to the time to paint or draw but i do have the time to make jewlery ;). I like to think im a outgoing friendly person, aside from volunteering at local horse rescues Im also trying to talk Dominic into fostering a dog until they can find their forever home. I LOVE to travel!

Dominic

Is a easy going guy (who now has a fulfledge beard since this pic was taken lol) who is in love with me :hearts: and his dodge ram srt-10 (sometimes im not sure who comes first lol) he is a computer geek and works as a computer security services for a huge company he loves rebuilding computers and sometimes fixes computer on the side. He is a bit of a golfer even thou he retires when he get frustraited with the game lol, hes also a bit of a video game junkie i think we own just about every system ever made but we dont use 1/3 of em lol. He is also into car just about as much as i am (still wont let me take his truck to the track thou :( Every year he makes sure that we ahve a week at wildwood either with or without his family. He hasnt traveled much out of the tri state area but i aim to change that and so does he!

Now on the the goushie stuff like how we met! ;)
Like alot of couples these days we turned to online dating. I had a string of bad relationships that just went from bad to worse in most cases so i decided to get out of my "circle" of friends and the only way to do that was head to the online world... So after signing up for just cupid i started crusin the profiles. I did come across Dominic's at first but passed it buy because under the 5 things you cant live without section his first thing was AC lol (this is still one of our inside jokes today) and i took that as hes not much of an outdoors person. So after a few freaks (literally) I came back across Dominics profile and said what the h*ll why not? and sent him a message. So we started chatting online then texting then phone calls and finally after about a month or so of talking we decided it was date time. He brought me flowers :hearts: and he picked the resturant (which was horrible) and I picked the movie (which was also horrible!) lol another inside joke of ours course he tries to blame both on me these days lol. So the movie let out at 1030 if i remember right and we put the tailgate on his truck down and just talked in the parking lot about everything. finally about 330 we decided it was time to part ways and go home. On the way home i said to myself that he was the one (turns out i was right :p)

and the best part! our engagement story!
I was in Idaho for school in May of 09 for my PG-3 classes. Once I got there and settled in for a few days Dominic started acting a little weird asking all kinds of questions about the town and what the bar looked like and the house that I was staying at looked like and where it was at, but I didn't think anything of it. Then just as I was finished with my classes the Thursday before I was coming home, Dominic called to see what I was up to. We were headed to a bar for dinner (that's all there is in this town I swear) and he started asking in detail where it was and what it looked like, and again I didn't think anything of it. So I told him, and he said to go enjoy my dinner and he might call me in a little. So I was sitting down eating dinner and he called again so i picked up and he hung up, so I stepped outside so I could call him back and he hung up again, finally he called me back a few seconds later and asked where i was (we had a change of plan from what i oroginally told him and were at the bar next to the bar i told him we were going to be at ( yes two bars right next door theres one across the street too lol)). So i told him we had a change of plans and explained where i was and once he saw me he hung up the phone and as I was turning around he was running toward me and did a baseball slide, and asked me to marry him. :hearts:

Some of the detials that i have nailed down so far...

Booked Vendors
Photographer
Venue
Caterer
Hair stylest
Florist
DJ

Still Need
Officiant....
A guy Dominic works with has done a few wedding and said he love to do ours but hes making me nervous because we havent been able to get ahold of him and if were having this much trouble now... what happens if he doesnt show up on the big day!

Were are having a fully outdoor ceremony (well reception will be under a tent) at White Wing Farm (www.innatwhitewingfarm.com (http://www.innatwhitewingfarm.com)) if youd like to see some pics. Were truly lucky because the owners of both the venue and catering company (same person) is my FMIL's cousin so hes helping us out a little price wise here and there.

Our photographer is fantastic :coolblue: a really awesome guy... thou we almost tripled our photography budget im sure itll be worth it! he also turned me onto our florist who just like him is amazing! thou when i told her i didnt really want to use roses i stumped her... so finally i told her i dont care i just want them to look nice... which truthfully i really dont mind to much about the flowers either way as long as they look amazing!

The stylest I booked i havent met yet but my trial in on June 12th (which i think ill be going to alone :( ) and im excited were going to try a all up do and a half up half down dew so it should be fun.

And our Dj also works with my fiance and hes an awesome bring the fun to a party type of guy so he should be awesome!

So we got a little dressy and my mom took pics on the side of our house.... it was a little windy (well really windy!) hence why my hair look awful lol.... the pic actually looks alot better in black and white. :yesnod:

so the details...
well have 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen (it was going to be 5 but since my MOH went crazy http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?t=36263 <details on that if your interested) all wearing wisteria (lighter purple form davids bridal) my dress is ivory and FH will be wearing a ivory vest and tie...
the colors...
they started out just being wisteria and ivory but have since branched out to include green and a little bit of yellow as well! Very springy lol

everything is going to be outside and im hoping that i can talk the caterer/venue owner/FMIL cousin into getting a see through tent top like this one
http://www.specialeventsrental.com/images/Clear%20Top%20Tent%20Pic-.jpg
id also like to do some lighting like that as well im in love with this pic! lol

for centerpieces im thinking something along these lines
http://pics.boards.weddingbee.com/35122.floating_candles_no_flowers.jpg
not with thoes colors at all but im thinking clear/purple shimmer stones much like in this pic with ivory and either purple or green floating candles and then little tealights surrounding the bowl itself.... or go this route
http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/57437/calla-lily-centerpiece-floating_candle.jpg
were doing a sand ceremony and possibly a reading of the irish blessing.... i chose this sand ceremony kit http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/Weddings/Sand-Unity-Set course ive seen some that i like more (like the one missy chose!) but its not worth it to try and return it or eat the 50 bucks to get a prettier one lol...the big debate is weather or not i want to use the sand it came with or buy colored sand....

the guest book that i chose to use is this one http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/Weddings/Wedding-Wishes-Guest-Book i absolutly love it! i didnt want something that people jsut sign their names but i didnt want so ubber uge frame for people so sign (plus at my cousins wedding someone broke the glass on hers cause they dropped it :boggle: i wont menchion that it was her FMIL lol)

i think ive finally cought up to where i am in my planning so far... lol if not whats one more post right!?!

04-28-2011, 10:08 AM
i posted this in the frustration and vents section too but i figured it fit into my journal as well lol

Ive been stewing on this for a few days and im still upset about it, and i know this is one good place for me to vent (thanks in advance!)

So on easter FH my mom and i head to FH's grandparents for dinner (like every year) and his grandmother has everyone there her two sons (FHs dad never showed up) aunts cousins the grandparents brother and sister... all in all something like 20 people. So of course people are asking us questions about the wedding and how the planning is comming along so on and so forth. FH is already in a bad mood because his playstation 3 blew up (boys and their toys ) so as were eating i hear my FMIL offer one of the rooms at the b&b to FH's grandmothers brother and his wife... and shes tellin her that were going to have breakfast on saturday before the wedding and on sunday too and all this other stuff...

now theres 11 room avaliable to us and the bridal party and our parents (well moms i should say) and his grandparents are the first that we offered rooms to once we firgure out whos staying then well branch out from there. The thing i have a problem with is
1) shes not even staying at the b&b.. her excuse is because she has everything set up at home for her to get ready  (what the issue is of packing it up and setting up in her own private bathroom at the b&b is beyond me)
2) she didnt want us to get married there at first because 25 mins away is to far (she does however like the idea now)
3) she hasnt given us one cent towards this wedding
4) we dont even know if we can afford to do the breakfast on saturday let alone sunday we still have to sit down and figure out costs
5) we should be the ones offering rooms not her (in my opinion)

then while were cleaning dishes she spends 30 mins talking to FH grandmothers brother about why she cant get divorced (mind you were at her husbands parents house on a holiday with all of the family there.. not the ideal place to bring up this subject when its been going on for 6 years!)

Dont get me wrong my FMIL is awesome! but sometimes i just dont understand..... weve been talking about being tight on money and all for the wedding and she knows that we havent figured out the rooms yet so why would she offer people things that may not be avaliable and tell people things that may not be happening... then FH and i will look like the a**holes! :realmad:

If youve gotten thus far thanks for listening to my rant... i told FH about it (he was upstaris watching the flyers when this was going on) and he said that he would take care of it... but i needed a little outlet... again thanks.

Your table number holders look like the ones I made for my wedding! :) Except I had mine sticking out of flowers. Here's what I did:

That see-through tent is GORGEOUS!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you can have one! :)

*ugh* I will never understand why people feel the need to give away stuff that isn't theirs to give. It's like wedding planning starts and some people just give up their brain functions until it's over! I'm glad your FI is going to take care of it. *hugs* Sorry you had to deal with it regardless!

Just catching up on your journal. I have never seen a see-through tent before, its amazing!!! I hope you'll be able to get it. Ahh, I'm having visions of you two dancing under the moonlight with all the stars above - that you could actually see! How romantic!

Your wedding dress is beautiful! We just got a David's Bridal here and got our bridesmaid's dresses there - love that place!!!

Sorry to hear about your FMIL. Hope everything sorts itself out without you having to think about it anymore.

FH doesnt care either way ( no suprise there lol)

I think all of the bridesmaids dresses are in except for one... and i think another one still has to get her shoes... my FSIL is a little slow to get things done which makes me a little nervous sometimes

Got caught up on your journal - I love your story it's so cute! Also I've never seen a see through tent before - oh man am I in love with that!! I think it'd be super cool when the stars come out at night! I love the table number holders - and I think they'd look nice with the taller votive/flower/candle centerpiece things. The cake is absolutely beautiful! Your dress - well it's perfect! Sounds like you already have a bunch of stuff planned already - can't wait to see more!

im not to sold on the bracelet there was another one that i cant find right now but the necklace and earrings are PERFECT! they also have the necklace in purple that i think my mom is going to get which i think would be pretty cool to sorta match have a special mother daughter thing going on lol

theres been a few hiccups lately my moms refinance is taking forever but it has to be closed within 19 more days so once thats through thatll ease a ton of stress... FMIL is being difficult i guess is the best word... ( dont even know where to begin... is that whole story if your interested) but other than that things are smooth sailing! I have my hair trial a week from today and one of my best friends is going with me (who also happens to be getting married a month after me!) so im super excited about that and should have so pics from that to put up!!

I had sooo much fun at my hair trial! Don't be afraid to speak up if there is something you aren't sure of or don't like. They can probably change it/fix it/whatever, but they won't know if you don't say something. :)

Just went through and sent our choices for the ceremony to the officiant.... I cant wait to see what she writes up! :ura1:

On a side note my FMILs biggest worry it seems is who is going to escort her to her seat, and our officiant mentioned something that Dominic could do it. So we thought that was a good idea to keep her happy (not that shes doing her part for us but its still his mom! lol) So then i said something to my friend at work (whos comming to the wedding) and shes been to and been in more weddings than i can even imagine (somewhere in the 20s i think) and she basically yelled at me that Dominic does not escort his mother to his seat that he is to only walk me back up the aisle and thats it.... do you ladies have any thoughts on this? Ill make a new thread too but i thought id ask here as well.....

dodgercpkl
06-09-2011, 10:34 AM
Honestly I'd do whatever you both are happy with. I can KINDA see the logic behind your friends statement, but I think if you really look into the possible symbolism of the act of your FI escorting his mom to her seat then you come up with kind of a neat thing. I mean it's kind of like a unity candle ceremony - your FI walks his mom to her seat as a son and then after the ceremony walks you back down the aisle as a husband representing the change of his status (if you will)!

I think as long as he's not escorting her both ways, there's no issue with it. At least not to me! I'm not hugely into today's version of etiquette though. Now if he were escorting her both ways then yes... I'd think that was really weird and it would represent something else all together! lol

Does my rambling make ANY sense? I hope so. lol

06-09-2011, 12:34 PM
haha i had to read the first paragraph twice! but i got it... i actually like the way that you made it sound... hmm i wonder if theres some way to print that in the program with out it sounding hokey lol but i like... no love the way you explained it! and shes deff only gettin escorted one way... after that hes mine!

I can't wait to see the pics! :) It's funny because I chose not to go with the false lashes for my wedding day because of my glasses, and then I forgot my glasses in the bridal dressing room and ended up being without them for the ceremony! lol I guess I could have gotten them after all had I known I would forget my glasses!

I agree that the blue may be a little much. It was pretty, but especially if you're not normally into wearing makeup, I'd DEFINITELY go the more natural look with browns instead of blues. And I think you'll be happier with the pictures as well if you do something that you're more comfortable with. ;)

Love the hair!! I agree that if you don't normally wear makeup then I'd go with the browns. I think you'll like it better and feel more comfortable! When I do wear makeup, brown/natural makeup is pretty much all I wear. :)

I love the hair too!!! Looks so pretty with the veil - I wish my hair could hold curls...they are so romantic! I think its a great idea to try out the browns, then you can compare and decide which works best for you. I usually wear lots of colourful makeup (hehe, I love MAC), but for my wedding, I'm choosing to go very natural. My makeup artist told me that I don't want to hide under lots of statement making makeup as it will detract from the natural beauty or something cheesy like that. In the end, I think she was right!

I love the pictures where they have the just married or thank you sign or kiss the girl... whatever sign they have but i love thoes pics. So I went to Etsy.com to find them because i couldnt find what i wanted anywhere else... i wanted it on a piece of wood so it would at least last and i could either keep it or pass it on.... and i came across this one store that had both the thank you and the just married exactly how i picture them in my head...
http://ny-image1.etsy.com/il_570xN.252526533.jpg

http://ny-image3.etsy.com/il_570xN.252528703.jpg

i love the distressed look.... so i messaged her because to me it made no sence to buy two of them if she could put just married on one side and thank you on the other.... so she said it would be no problem to combine them!! and i saved 10 bucks! and shes also changing the knot for me so it looks the same on both sides! like this....
http://www.etsy.com/conversations/image?convo_id=51678944&image_id=12739971&image_type=full

then she pointed out that each one was a different font and asked which i prefered, and i todl her that i really like both of them and i couldnt decide so i told her to suprise me lol!

sorry im so excited about a sign but for a while there i didnt think id be able to find what i was looking for and i knew i wouldnt be able to DIY.. im jsut super happy!! :ura1:

I also love the idea of the parasols for pictures! (im a picture crazy person) and i found a site that has the paper ones super cheap (i wish they were cloth but ill take waht i can get) so my only debate now is do we all have ivory round ones... or do i have my girls have ivory round ones and ill have a lavender scalloped edge one... or vise versa have my girls have the lavender scalloped edged one and i have the ivory round one ( tho i think it would be cool to switch up the colors have them with the ivory and me with the lavender)

the paper looks thick enough that i dont think ill have a problem with it ripping or anything but i jsut love pics like thesehttp://bevfabriccrafts.us-dc1-edit.store.yahoo.net/I/bevfabriccrafts_2164_208371523

That is SUCH a cool idea!!!

I think whichever you choose will be beautiful. Personally, I'd go with the lavender one for yourself and have the girls have the ivory ones so that you've got a splash of color, but again, whatever you choose will be beautiful for sure. That's such a great idea! :)

Those signs are super cute!!! I really like the font on the "just married" one! As for the umbrellas, LOVE the idea!!! I'm doing the same thing but with a red umbrella for me instead of a lavender one. Great minds think alike!!! :yesnod: Do you mind if I ask where you found the umbrellas? I'm still looking for a nice red one. I've got white ones (my friend's dad goes to China for work a lot, so he picked me up a bunch) and we're going to give them to guests at the ceremony (outdoors with no cover overhead, I'm sure some of my guests will appreciate some shade) and use them for pics earlier in the day!

aww thanks! i LOVE the signs i cant wait till it comes in... ill have to take a pic of the actual one!

ive been looking around alot because i dont want to pay a ton for em and so far the cheapest ive found is on this site... http://www.save-on-crafts.com/paperparasol.html i flipped through really quick and i think thats the only red one they have. Ive also found them on amazon.com i dont know what kind of red your looking for but i googled really quick and this http://oriental-decor.com/product/3902.html is the only red parasol that i found thats not like a umbrella umbrealla....

i thought about having some for the guests too since ours is outside as well but the i was thinking about the amount of people (160 roughly) and the cost that it would be :boggle: but then i thought theres lots of trees around so hopefully itll be shady enough... lol

EDIT: i just remembered a Etsy dealer that ive been waiting to get ahold of for a price quote has red ones.. but their cloth not paper so a little heavier duty i guess.. http://www.etsy.com/listing/74821928/plain-color-fabric-parasol-great-for lol hope that helps ya!

Thanks so much for sharing those links, Heather!!! From what I can see, it looks like the paper and fabric parasols are about the same price, so I'd rather go with something I'm less likely to rip (I'm so klutzy sometimes!). I can't believe the first link you have there - those parasols are so inexpensive - great find!!!

I hear ya on the cost of giving parasols to all the guests - that's why I'm only going to give out the ones that my bridesmaids have, and only to the older guests (e.g., the grandmothers, mothers).

so for programs i went with a trifold that has a ivory strip design i guess you could say their pretty plain
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41LjUUXBpzL._AA300_.jpg (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B004NWKI30/ref=dp_image_z_1_0?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&img=0&color_name=1)
and i wanted to figure out a way to dress them up....
so last night i had to go to ac moore to get some beads to fix a friends bracelet that i made him and i started looking at ribbon... and then i hit a jackpot!
http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/269036_2206816048486_1189957821_32735631_2732628_n .jpg
i found this super awesome (ok so its really plain too but still!) basket for 4 bucks! and all of the ribbon in there was 3 for a dollar!!! I prolly got a little to much but i didnt know how long they would have it (the colors match perfectly) and i wanted to wrap both the purple and ivory around the programs.... for 160 programs hopefully i got enough... maybe ill stop there on my way home and pick up 3 more in each color just in case lol....

I also got the sign in over the weekend and its better than i expected! I cant wait to see what the wedding phots look like with it...

we finally ordered our wedding favors... well half of them anyway... we still need the m&m's
we ordered shooter shot glasses from the knot with a eat drink and be married image on them ( i would post a link or a pic but the knot is always a difficult site for me to do that with so ill post a pic when then come in) and were going to fill them with m&m's and wrap them in tulle with a bow. Ill have to take pics when they come in... we really wanted to do tree saplings but it just didnt seem plausable since alot of our guests were from out of town but i think i like these better there not "green" but there a nice little keepsake that people can just add to their collections (alot of his family and my family collects shot glasses) :yesnod:

I always love receiving edible favours at weddings (hehe, that's part of the reason we're doing cupcakes), but they don't very often make it home with me! And the shot glass idea sounds very practical, although I might be biased as FH and I collect them when we go on vacation as well!

i love collecting shot glasses! i cant wait for them to come in only like 3 weeks to go! not that im counting down or anything

so i starting thinking about what songs were going to use... and this is what ive come up with so far...

Processional-

Recessional- “1,2,3,4” by plain white ts

Entrance-

Introductions-

First dance- “Parla Più Piano” by Dominic Chinease

Father daughter dance- “My little girl” by tim McGraaw

Grandmother grandson dance-

Mother son dance-

Boquet toss- "Its raining men" Geri Halliwell

Garter toss- "lady marmalade" by Labelle (not to sure on this one)

are there any other songs that we have to pick out i feel like my list should be longer..

so FH didnt like the songs i picked out for the gater and boquet toss so insted i picked out

Boquet toss: this one is for the girls by Martina McBride
Garter toss: Beautiful Girls by Van Halen
Processional: The wedding song (is there love) by the ONeil Brothers (i think im not 100% on this one)

now i just gotta figure out the rest of the songs lol

so our super wonderful photographer that both FH and i liked ALOT has moved... across the country to california :boggle:. How did i find out you ask? no not through the company i found out through a friend that he photographed a year ago when i commented on her photo... *sigh* so i tried to email him and it came back undelivered, then i tried to call his cell phone and its disconnected. So i called the main company and talked to his partner and basically what their going to do is hook us up with another photographer and give us a free engagement session! :p We never did one becase we wanted to save the money. There also going to give us a free portrate which i thought was pretty cool. Basically since they know that we had a relationship with our orignal photographer and their trying to help us build one with a different photographer.... so both sad and happy i guess....

well Fh is pissed to say the least about the photographer... he says that they should take 1000 off of our bill for the "inconvience" which you and i and even he knows isnt going to happen... hes just more outwardly upset about it than i am... im just more dissapointed i guess but well see im sure hell get over it! :crossfingers:

I just found out last night from FMIL that FFIL is most likely NOT comming to the wedding... I get that theres tension between him and everyone in the family trust me i do but what is that saying about him to not come to his sons wedding... i mainly wanted him there for FH's grandparents and a few photos even if he doesnt smile... i dunno FH doesnt care maybe i shouldnt either.... *sigh* :bbconfused:

Sorry I'm so late coming in on this thread! LOL! I've been insanely busy, but I just wanted to comment! :)

That SUCKS about your photographer, but congrats on the deal they gave you! ;) I hope FH can accept that - I know it sucks when you have your heart set on something/somebody, but it could very well turn out for the better. I hope that's true in your case!

I know how upset you are about your FFIL not coming. I know it's not the same, but I've got a BIL who I've known since I was like 14 and a nephew who aren't coming to my wedding either. :( They say it's money, but my BIL flew my niece and nephew out here from CA this summer, then the next day, got on a plane and flew to FL to be with his wife/my sister, then flew back to MO to pick up the kids, and then the three of them flew back to CA. If they didn't have the money to fly out here for my wedding, you'd think they would have NOT done that trip this summer, which was planned WAAAAAAAY after they knew about my wedding.

But anyways, I know EXACTLY where you're coming from! It sucks that he's not going to be there for his son, but from your previous posts, it sounds like he hasn't been much of a father/husband in the past either, and it sounds like your FH is OK with it. I know it sucks, but it *might* actually be for the better. I mean, you definitely don't want family drama at your wedding, so maybe this is a good thing. I hope so!

I can't believe how close we are! Less than a month and a half!!!! :jphappy:

the programs are done all 200 folded and tied with ribbon... about half way through i realized i spelled my nephews name wrong :boggle: (i spelled it Donnie insted of Donny) i always second guess myself its terrible! so i called my sister and told her about it and she said not to worry about it that hes used to it... but i feel so bad i even offerend to buy all new paper to redo them and she told me i was crazy. :bbconfused:

Our shotglass favors came in i ordered them in violet to go along with the purple theme but they look navy blue to me. Both mom and FH say its a dark purple but the BM and I think its blue... ill post a pic up later... i would call and complain and see if i can have them redone but i didnt for 2 reasons... 1) im only about 5 weeks away from the wedding and it take 5-6 weeks to process them and get them here 2) i ordered 160 and they sent me 198 :boggle: so were going to have a few extra! lol plus its not really that big of a deal to me they still look really nice.

We had our free engagement session last night, and met our new photographer. Suprisingly we had a blast! I got yelled at buy the owner photographer (who im not sure if hes doing our wedding or not) for giggling when they were trying to take a serious shot :( but it was a great time and they got some great shots from what they showed us. My friend came over and did my hair and makeup and then we went to meet the photographer and they even came back to the house to get a few shots of our dogs which was awesome (they got some good ones there too!) So as soon as i get thoes back ill post a few in here and on my facebook for anyone who wants to see them...we should have them back next week i think!! cant wait :lafhard:

The wedding is comming up so fast! :petrified: :ura1: :petrified: that i feel like im not going to get everything done.... but then again i think im in pretty good shape i just have to fill the favors with m&ms and wrap them with tulle and print up table cards for the cameras (were putting a disposable camera on every table) but centerpieces are done, programs are done, the only big thing left to do is the seating chart which im dreading!! theres alot of "i cant be near him/her" in my family

aww thanks!! i know the nightmares have started to set in already! not everynight but often enough lol.... yea i think im just going to do table assignments and then have the place cards either on a table or try and find a few old shutters to hand them on and just do it that way rather than fully dictating where everyone sits that would be insanity! :boggle:

mom and i printed them up and then i forced myself to put the ribbons on while we were watching tv other wise i wouldve never had the patience to sit down and do them! lol

if you can talk him into the cameras i got the kodak (for the name) from walmart a 10 pack was 33 bucks i think... way cheaper and better cameras than anywhere else i saw.... how come he is so against them? Fh was too because we have the photographer there and then he was like ah well do waht you want :laugh2: lol

the only thing we really have to do is get our rings and the groomsmen gifts... other than that i think were in good shape!!!

ill post a pic up later but for my wedding gift to FH i got em a really nice cigar humidor with a plate that says "with all my love on our wedding day" its gorgeous if i do say so myself lol

He's against them because of the cost. Total, for the cameras and developing, it'd be about $120. I found these Cinderella cameras on Ebay, since our theme is fairytale weddings - 20 cameras for $58 and each one has a table tent with a little poem-type thing (you can't read it in the picture, but it looks sweet). I'm also wanting to do a "scavenger hunt" thing... put a nicely decorated paper on each table underneath the camera that says, "1. take a picture of everyone at the table. 2. take a picture of the youngest person in the room. 3. take a picture of someone wearing purple. etc.... Each table would be slightly different so we don't get 20+ pictures of the youngest person in the room, etc... I think it'd be fun for kids (and adults ;)), and it'd give people something to do for the first 30-45 minutes that they're there, since we won't be there yet because we'll be taking pictures and there won't be an open bar or a cash bar (we decided to do the one glass of wine with dinner thing since we don't really want drunkenness at our wedding). FH LOVES this idea, but wants to do it with people's own cell phone and digital cameras and put on the tables for them to email them to us. THAT is tacky!!!!! :realmad: If you're going to do a scavenger hunt, you must provide the camera!!!

Anyways. Sorry to go off like that! LOL! I'm still trying to convince him, but he just doesn't want to spend the money (but still wants to do the scavenger hunt idea ). But again, I really like having them on the tables, and I'm sure that the pictures you get will be a lot of fun! :)

Catching up on your journal and gotta say: LOVE all the curls in the trial hair pics, and adding crystals would definitely be an awesome touch! Also, totally love the pearl flower necklace/earrings.

The shot glasses sound like such a cute favor too! (must show FH so we can contemplate stealing this idea)

Also, I think table assignments alone are going to be stressful enough without doing exact seating arrangements definitely agree with you there!

lol no worries about going off lol... i love love love that scavenger hunt idea!! ( i may have to steal that!) Id say that your right in if your wanting to do the scavenger hunt you have to provide the camera otherwise youll never get all of the pictures! i honestly didnt even think about the developing costs but you dont have to do them all at once... maybe just do 5 cameras at a time lol.... i hope he changes his mind!!! theres still a little time to do some convincing! lol

The shot glasses sound like such a cute favor too! (must show FH so we can contemplate stealing this idea)

Also, I think table assignments alone are going to be stressful enough without doing exact seating arrangements definitely agree with you there!

Aww thanks!! i actually didnt go with the jewlery that i posted a few pages back :( it proved to be a little more than i wanted to spend and i think it wouldve hung a little to low on the neckline... but i took some pics of the jewlery that i did wind up going with and ill post pics tonight....

i love the shot glasses! were going to fill them with m&ms and wrap them up in tulle... ill post a pic of thoes up later too.... if you order them from the knot like i did just watch the colors... i would stick to white to be safe. I picked violet and it looks more navy blue to me i didnt send em back or anything it just wasnt worth it plus they sent me 38 more than i ordered which was kinda cool....

24 days till the wedding :bang_head::frantic: but all in all i think were in pretty good shape unless im forgetting major things the only thing left to do is put the favors together (m&ms should be here tomm) and do the seating chart :beer:which im sure ill need a few drinks to get through the seating chart lol.... FH and i still have to buy our rings (i know were slacking a little on that one) and he still has to get his groomsmen gifts..... were debating about doing a bbq at our house the day before the wedding for the out of town guests my mom thinks it would be to much stress for us and FH doesnt think we can afford it.... I think well be ok both our families are good at helping with that sort of thing and my mom offered to help us pay for it (along with just about everything else which i feel terrible about:purplex: ) so that alleviates both problems lol... I have a meeting with the photographer on the 22nd to get our portrait from our free engagment shoot (since our orignal photographer moved cross country) so i cant wait to see thoes!! hopefully he gives me a disk of the shots so i can post a few up here or add an open alblum to facebook so you can see them all if you want to!

I also put down a deposit for freeze frame and bloom beads which im really excited about!! well have thoes back 12-14 weeks after the wedding (gives me plenty of time to pay it off lol)

Had my second dress fitting yesterday and played "bussle games" not really games but she showed me the 3 different bussles and i went with the more "victorian look" was what she called it... ill post a pic if i can get ahold of my moms camera lol

im so excited that its so close!!!!!!!!!!!! :ura1::confetti::ura1::zen:

I LOOOOOOOOOVE those shot glasses!!! :hearts:

I can't believe how close we are! It's just getting ridiculously close at this point! LOL! SOOOO much left to be done... at least for me - I still have to pack my entire house! LOL! :frantic:

I think the BBQ for the out-of-town guests is a good idea, and if everyone's willing to help, then I think you should go for it! :)

I love all your details!! I think the bbq would be a great idea too as long as you aren't having to plan the whole thing. lol I felt a bit stressed in thinking that the week before the wedding was going to be filled with Anton's family being here, but that was just the thing I needed to realize that I didn't want to work on wedding things 24/7 the last week! I ended up loving that I had relatively stress free time with them prior to the wedding and I think it made me more relaxed when the day arrived.

OMG!!! I had one of those last night! LOL! OK, so in my dream, I was in a friend's wedding (who's actually already married! LOL!) and her wedding was right before mine. And after her wedding, I didn't have time to change from her FLOWERED bridesmaid's dress into my wedding dress. And, I didn't have time to put on makeup and do my hair (even though, in reality, my hair and makeup would have already been done, but this is a dream here... not reality ;)). So, I go up to the alter for the second ceremony (my friend's was the first) with NO makeup on and my hair's a mess and I'm wearing a flowered bridesmaid's dress. And then, I start to cry! :jpticked: I started saying that this wasn't the way I wanted it to go, and was all upset and my friend gave me HER wedding ring and that, somehow, made things all better. I wonder what it means?!

Sorry to hijack. Just wanted to share, since you mentioned wedding nightmares! LOL! :laugh2:

Finally catching up on your journal! Love the programs and I totally understand how you feel about your nephew's name - I didn't put my brother on the program and he's walking me down the aisle! I made the template a year ago when I thought that only my mom would be walking me down the aisle. When I printed it out, I totally forgot to add my bro and realized it when we were putting them together. Oops.

Sorry to hear about your photog, but glad everything worked out. And really, can't go wrong with a free e-session and portrait! I LOVE free stuff!!!

I can relate to stress regarding family not showing. I'm having that issue with FH's family - there's some tension and his sister, aunt, uncle and grandmother (for a different reason) aren't coming. I think it bothers me more than FH. But on a positive note, at least there will be no tension. That's how we're looking at it anyway.

BBQ = YES! It will give you a chance to spend extra time with people you don't get a chance to see often. And if you're going to get some financial support to pull it off, even better!

Eek, wedding nightmares! I haven't had those, but that could be because I haven't really slept in the last 3 weeks!

Love your jewellery - and the great price you got it for!

Its so great that you guys are pretty much ready to go....can you come do the rest of the planning for my wedding now? :bbwink:

well after a long talk with FH and my mom it looks like no bbq is going to happen... we figured it would be about 40 people (bridal party and their families, our moms and dads, FHs grandparents, and my out of town uncles and aunts) so it would be a pretty penny to get food and drinks for everyone... and if we had a gurantee that the weather would be nice it might be a different story but if it rained its be cramped in our house with 40 people... so alas no "rehersal" dinner... plus i feel so bad about asking my mom to pay for everything so we figured wed just give out gifts while were getting ready and all id love to spend the extra time with family and have everyone over ( i love love love to entertain) but it just seems like itd be way more stress than i want to handle the day before the wedding... im a little sad but im sure ill be relieved the friday before the wedding :laugh2:

with 17 days left till the wedding it feels like its getting down to the wire!!! :purplex: we had the meeting with the photographer to see our engagement shots and they were amazing but the meeting itself was a disaster... long story short i thought he said that we were getting a free portriat but alas no thats not the case... after he showed us all the pictures he launched into this huge pushy sales pitch which i HATE above all else is pushy sales people. If we wanted to have a cd of the images it was 895 for 20 out of the 146 that they took...if i wasnt so close to the wedding id find a new photographer now..... i wound up buying one picture a 4x6 for 37 dollars to use in our guest book... i was so upset that i was almost in tears... a giant long island ice tea didnt even help to bring me up... i just felt so stupid and taken advantage of i want our old photographer back!!...

on a side note... we have about half the favors put together and the seating chart is done we just have to figure out which table numbers go with which table... we have tables that seat 8 and alot of FHs tables have 6 or 7 one i think has 5 so theres no way we can mish them together so hopefully the venue doesnt have a issue with that... i just finished up designing the camera table cards (since the kodak cameras dont come with them) i have them saved on word but ill try and post a pic when i figure it out... or after i print them lol

not to much left to do but i feel like this guy.. :coffee:

FH also agreed reluctantly to the bbq at our house... so itll be a lil tight with 40 people either outside on our patio (which is pretty huge) or in our 1012 sq ft house lol.... but itll be good to see all of my family since that doesnt happen much!

ah i know less than two weeks at this point!!! but its good mom and i were able to finish the favors once the hurricane passed over us, seating chart is done and place cards are printed (just ahve to put them together which ill be doing at work lol) and i think the last thing i have to do (other than get ready for the bbq) is find some louvier shutters (did i spell that right?) to put the place cards on ( i wanted to do something different than putting them on a table lol).

FHs passport FINALLY came in!!! thou i dont think well be using them till next year but at least we have them!!

its less than two weeks before the wedding and we still have to buy all the alochol and rings... yes rings i figure worse comes to worse i can do overnight shipping from amazon! lol

Im so excited its so close!!! it snuck up on me there!

Because this storage unit is really close to my parents' house, the guy is a friend of my mother's, he's a Christian (and to her, that's THE most important reason), he's cheaper, and he volunteered to help her move all of the stuff if he doesn't get a unit by the time I have to move.

Hmmm I know the Farmer's Almanac said Topeka is supposed to be 63 and clear with the slightest chance of rain early in the A.M. on that day. Where are you located maybe I can ease your mind for you :D I am having an outside wedding too so I totally get how you feel. Just find a pretty umbrella and decorate it :D It would only add more awesome to your wedding hehe.

EDIT: It does say that there is a chance for heavy tstorms then sunny. Do you have a backup plan just in case? By the way it's written (Sept 6-11) it looks to me like they mean heavy rain earlier in the WEEK then sunny closer to the 11th so you still may be ok :D

i love the farmers almanac! lol... im in wilmington DE but the wedding is in West Chester PA and i looked at it in the store ( i didnt want to pay 7 buck for it lol) and it said that it was going to be raining in the begining of the week like mon tues and wed i think but then saturday was supposed to be 70s and clear.... so hopefully their right.... as of right now i dont know that there is a backup plan... i asked the venue/caterer and he said "let worry about that if it comes down to it..... which makes me a little worried but well see i guess.... on a side note i just finished up the place cards ill have to post up pics later tonight if i get a chance!!

well im at the point where im feeling like nothing is going to get done but i know it will it just feels liek theres so much in such a short amount of time. I still have to get ahold of the photographer for a few questions the venue just dropped a bomb on us that the tables seat 10-12 insted of 8 like the orignally told us so the whole seating chart had to be reworked (and the place cards have to be redone) we still have to get the liquor for the wedding and everything for the bbq. i had my bachelorette last weekend and it was... well it sucked... i invited FHs mom, 2 aunts, cousin, sister and sisters friend, as well as my mom, sister, and a few friends... i knew my mom and sister werent going to be able to make it since they had plans already (stupid hurricane irene) so the only people that showed up was yes you guessed it FHs fam.... which isnt a bad thing but we went out of dinner and then came home thats it left at 630 it was a 20 min drive to the resturant and got home by 10.....i was embarresed to say the least that ALL of my friends canceled...well except for one bless her heart her and her FH showed up about 1 hour before we left... i had a long island and a voodoo juice and was totally sober when i got home which was not the plan at all. I orignally wanted to go to Dave and Busters but FH's aunt gave me the impression that she didnt want to drive up there ( no one wanted to rent a limo and she offered to drive everyone) so i changed it and went with my favirote resturant. Im glad i went out i just wish that i had a little more fun or at least got some freakin pictures!

not sure how much ill be on the rest of the week... i know i promised pics of the favors and the place cards and such hopefully i have time tomm... theres just so much to get done!

But... it'll get done and it'll be gorgeous. :soppy:

I hear you on the redoing the seating chart thing. Yesterday, FH's groomsman who said he was NOT bringing a guest texted FH and asked if he could bring a guest. :irked: And I found out TODAY that my niece (honestly, the one family member I'm closest to, who's more like a sister than any of my sisters are) who was supposed to fly in from Germany for the wedding won't make it. :jpticked: and my grandmother asked my mother TODAY if we could invite my great, great aunt by marriage.

It's like HELLO!!! IT'S FOUR DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING! LOL!!!

Sorry to hijack, but I hear ya on the having to redo the seating chart thing! Just hang in there - we're almost done and then we can relax and enjoy our honeymoons!!! :jphappy:

I guess almost all couples getting married have a few things that are not quite done...because my venue AND my coordinator both said that they've never seen anything like my wedding, where EVERY vendor was on time or early, it was super organized, basically, everything went perfectly smoothly!

But there probably was a thing or two that I could have forgotten, but it really doesn't matter now as everything went great, and more importantly, we are MARRIED! And that's going great so far, too.:)

Congrats again, Heather! Thanks for posting the pics, everything looked beautiful, especially you!!!

aww thanks!!! i totally dont look like that in real life im usually in jeans and a t-shirt with my hair in a pony tail lol im not sure DH knew who i was walked down the stairs  but in all seriousness your right the only thing that truly matters is that were married!! All of our vendors were there pretty spot on (it helped that the caterer and cake baker lived on the property! lol) the only thing i didnt like was that i had to chase them down in the big feild behind the property the "parking lot" but other than that it wasnt to bad... i couldve had someone else go get them but then i have a hard time asking for help in the first place planning wise the only help i asked for was the seating chart  and in the end i had to wind up redooing it myself anyway lol.....
