Very nice Nicole! Congrats!! Can't wait to see what you do with it! That's a bummer about the gate. I hate when people say stuff like that and then don't follow through. It's like why bother saying anything at all.

Definiately painting over the orange room... doesn't exactly scream "calming, peaceful nursery"

everything went well... we got the entire apartment cleared and cleaned so everythings here... i didn't really DO much of anything but still by the end of the day my back was KIIIILLLLLLLING me

which lead to a crappy nights sleep and my back is still aching (but not quite as bad)

lots of unpacking still to do but i think today shall be a day of rest w/maybe a trip to the home depot to get some necessities...

It looks great Nicole!

Can't wait to see what you decide to do with the place.

And PS your blue room reminds me of the blue room we reno'd last summer.

First full day in the house and we've picked out colors for all the rooms, scheduled estimates for flooring and new garage door installation, installed a new front door lock...

i am pissed b/c i can't get the stupid ice maker on the fridge to work! ive even downloaded the owners manual in case i'm dumb but nope... the only options are 1- water line isn't hooked up (unlikely since the tray was full when we moved in) 2- it's just broken?

ugh i don't have patience for these things

Sounds like a productive day Nicole!

Good luck with the ice maker.

I've given up on the ice maker... just put a tray of cubes in and will deal... the odd thing was that there was ice IN the bucket when we moved in... i want to pull the fridge out to make sure the water lines still connected but can't...

today's task was calling oil companies b/c our tank is low and we need a delivery within the next week or so... that was an expensive shock to the system!

i'm probably gonna pick up some paint for the nursery today... i think we'll need a separate primer like killz given the darkness of the current color and the light color we want to go to... so i'll at least get that so i can get started.

right now we've decided we want to do baby pak's room in a buttercup yellow but i'm toying w/doing half yellow n half green w/a thin brown border in between... in my mind it looks good but we'll see...

It'd kind of cool you have a new house/blank slate to do all kinds of nesting in right now! 'Course you probably should be taking it easy!! ;)

I think i've mentioned it here but just in case i haven't.... since we've moved in we've found out the hot water SUCKKKKS... so i got our oil company to come in and do a service call and tune up

turns out the heating coil in the furnace is going... so we have 2 options 1) replace the heating coil or 2) get a separate water heater...

option 1 he said would probably run us about 600-700 bucks

option 2 would range depending on system we buy... an indirect one feeding off the boiler would run like 1200 and an electric one around 600 depending on the tank we buy of course there are ranges...

i'm leaning towards option 2 b/c this furnace is 15 yrs old anyways so it seems silly to repair the coil when we can get a much more efficient and cost-effective system for around the same price, maybe a lil more...

i'm hoping that either my dad or DH's brother will be willing to come up and install the tank for us to save us some money...

Hot water issues suck....I hope you can get it figured out soon and that the repair isn't too costly.
