So as you ladies know (or maybe not)... our wedding is taking place in Atlanta and neither of us live there. (Long story short - it's a central location for our families)

Anywho, we are having our rehearsal dinner at Dave & Busters because a stuffy formal affair would bore us to tears. We are thinking about opening it to all out of town guests (considering most of them will be out of towners). We will provide food for everyone but maybe our wedding party will get something extra like drinks or game tokens... I'm not sure yet.

What do you think? My thought process is... since they are out of towners I'd want to entertain them if they are in town. Yes No Maybe So?

Are you and your FH paying or are one of your sets of parents paying?

We are... unless some miracle lottery win happens on one our sets of parents behalf. :crossfingers:

LoL Well good luck with the lottery. If it were me I would invite the out of town family and let them know I'd be buying their meal. Then I would buy the bridal party each a certain amount of tokens and say something to my family like "Make sure you bring some money to buy tokens so we can all play some games together!" That's just what I'd do

I think that way it's not sounding like "hey we aren't paying for tokens so pony up" - it sounds like "hey we'd really like to play games together because it'll be a blast"

Yea id agree with Catt... thou i know the david and busters near me (an hour drive but near enough lol) does the 15.99 meal deal where you get a nice meal (one of the pictures shows a steak of sorts) and then they get a 10 dollar game card... that might be an option since youll be spending roughly that amount on dinner for one person anyway...

^^I didn't know they had that deal - we don't have a Dave and Busters near us! lol

I actually had my 21st birthday here a few years ago. It was awesome!! I was able to rent out a section of D&B (they have different sized banquet rooms) just for our private party which we decorated. We had a sit down buffet meal and after the meal we all were able to shoot pool, play games, and drink. The party set me back roughly $2000 for 30 people. It was really nice to be in our own section, felt personal and not like we were just in the middle of some restaurant/arcade/bar.

Supposedly my FMIL is paying for our rehearsal dinner. The woman certainly has the means and then some, but of course made this big deal about having to see if she could afford it, lol. Anyway, she asked me about the list of those to invite and I emailed one to her, she never responded so I guess I can only assume that she did receive it. I then emailed her again with updates regarding the time for the rehearsal itself, just about as soon as we had figured it out, and again no response or acknowledgment. In that email, I mentioned about one other person to be invited, and now I have a couple other people who probably should be invited but I am so afraid to contact her again about it...though eventually I will have to...
